Great Getaway

Atmosphere was perfect. Loved the decor. Found something new every time we looked around. Close to the beach. Only 10 minutes from the shopping centre at Aldinga, yet we felt like we were in our own little paradise. Silver Sands is quiet and secluded. Went home relaxed and renewed. Angela was the perfect host, always helpful. Thanks for a great weekend away. Much needed at the end of a busy working week. Kathy.

Good location, but

The Hawaiian theme is definitely well represented with more paraphernalia than you can poke a stick at. Not an issue but everything does collect dust and a thin film…. The kitchen was given 200mls of long life milk and a few coffee pods so don’t expect much else. The shower hot water last 3mins then goes out and in - a bit of a lucky draw each time really. No hammock like photos but the area to relax in the main photos looks directly out onto the street with the local passing by. Not a favourite rental of ours unfortunately

Thanks for the feedback David, I’m sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. As soon as I was made aware of the hot water issue Via your review I had a plumber in, it was a quick fix and could have been dealt with earlier if I had been informed. We supply instant coffee, 2 types of tea, pods, sugar, milk, oil and an extensive selection of herbs and spices for use in the kitchen. We do have a hammock for guests but it was raining heavily the day you checked in so it was put in the storage box on the deck. The photos of this area show an honest representation of the decks aspect to the street. Thanks again for choosing Aloha for your stay.

What a shame we were unable to relax

The beach shack is small but very nicely decorated in an Hawaiian theme and very comfortable. We were however unable to relax for the following reasons; * The very attractive outdoor verandah and sitting area had a security camera that recorded all the time. We have no issue with a security camera (which was mentioned in the listing) being used for security purposes but as we did not consent to having our private images recorded, we covered the camera when we used the outside area (the camera was uncovered at all other times). When we covered the camera we were immediately messaged by the host demanding that we uncover the camera which confirmed that we were being watched. Very unsettling. * There are many locks present inside and outside the property. While this indicates a general lack of trust by the owners, it was the locked areas outside that were of most concern - both gates exiting the rear yard were padlocked shut with no key provided, leaving the front door as the only point of entry/exit. This would have created a major issue in an emergency (eg fire). At least one exit needs to be unlocked while guests are in residence. These issues along with the many house rules detailed on notices through the rooms resulted in a lack of ease when at the shack, to the point we had great hesitancy using the facilities and utensils provided. This property has great potential to be an excellent short-term accommodation rental in a sought-after location, but it is not one we are able to recommend under the current administration.

We stayed at this cute little bijou beach shack in order to attend Muni restaurant in Willunga for my sisters 50th birthday. It was such a lovely little place to stay and such a relaxed environment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Relaxing stay

For what we wanted, the property was a great location. The hammock out front and fire pit in the back added to the relaxation elements. Everything was neat and clean. The description of the kitchen as “we provide lots of basic pantry items” we found to be a little misleading. Plenty of utensils and cooking needs but only salt, pepper, tea and coffee found. Lots of pantry items for me would include oil, spreads, and maybe even spices. We under packed for cooking due to this and ended up having to order takeout for our meals as there isn’t much grocery shopping available nearby.

I’m sorry you didn’t open the drawers containing a large range of spices etc we also provide oil, milk, pods. If guests need to do shopping there are 2 large supermarkets at our local Aldinga shopping centre. Thanks again

Lovely quirky house

Loved this house - great use of space and really well equipped. Relaxing front balcony and awesome back yard where we enjoyed roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. I loved the Hawaiian theme but could understand this might not be to everyone’s taste. Really quick walk to the beach and short drive for brekkie shops etc. lovely part of the world thank you

Beautiful little serene beach shack - minutes from the beach

Aldinga is the best - we loved our stay at Aloha sands; swimming every day (the beach was a couple of minutes walk away) and then hanging out on the deck and the Barbie in the evening sun. It's a perfect get away -everything you need and more. We will definitely stay again.

Perfect place to relax

Two nights were not enough in this groovy beach shack. Could easily have spent a whole week relaxing on the decks and enjoying all the comforts provided by Angela. Love the quirky touches that make you feel like you’re on a Hawaiian holiday. The best thing is that it’s only a short drive from Adelaide to this gorgeous spot with its beautiful golden beaches and fabulous attractions. Highly recommend the experience at Aloha Silver Sands.

Gorgeous little house

Perfect place for a mini break, going local was a great idea. My kids loved it, all the little nick nicks that made up the Hawaiian theme of the house were lovely. 5 min walk to the beach (wish it was a little warmer). A extremely relaxing time with the family. We will definitely be back.
