great kid vacation spot!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at this cabin on the river, and it was a perfect spot for vacationing with the kids. The surrounding campground has ducks, chickens, peacocks, pigs, one very inquisitive turkey, and the cabin TV has netflix for those occasional moments when we just needed to calm the kids down while we cooked dinner. The cabin is nestled on the perfect spot on the much larger campground, which includes dozens of RVs parked for the fishing season. Despite the capacity, and the fact that there was a festival and concert for the first weekend of trout season, the cabin was quiet. The owners keep the place very clean and well kept, and didn't seem to mind when our kids fed the ducks! Nice hot tub on the porch. Overall a great spot.

Cozy cabin on the river

  • 5 of 5

Our party enjoyed this cabin over a mild January weekend. This is a beautiful cabin, right on the river, that is a nice and cozy location. The other cabins are right next door, but we didn't hear any noise or other disturbance during our stay.

The cabin itself can get a little echoey inside for you light sleepers. There are two bedrooms with doors and full walls and two bedrooms in the loft that are more open.

Easy trip from here to Seneca Rocks, Bickle Knob Observation Tower, and more!

Wonderful weekend

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I came to stay in "Elk" cabin for the weekend and were very pleased with everything! They provided fire wood, trash bags , towels , linens! Everything you would need for a comfortable stay! The only thing I would say is there to be more info on the booking page, more detail on bedrooms and what they provide! Thanks for a wonderful stay in your lovely cabin!

Annual Fishing Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The cabin was very clean and a great location. We cooked breakfast and dinner daily and found the kitchen to be well stocked with pans and cooking utensils. There were 4 adults and 1 child in our party and the sleeping arrangements more than met our needs. The cabin is located on the Shaver's Fork of the Cheat River and provides easy access to several other trout streams within a half hour drive. We are reserving this cabin for next year's trip and would recommend it to others.
