Coco Loco Absolute Beachfront Shack

Coco Loco provides very private absolute beachfront accomodation in a rainforest setting. Close to Mission Beach the two connected pavilions sit just metres above the Coral Sea with direct access to a rainforest fringed tropical beach.

Coco Loco is located away from the “hurly burly” of downtown Mission Beach on a secluded beachfront far enough away from reality to allow you to slip into recluse mode with very little effort. A bush track leads directly onto 750 metres of secluded rainforest fringed Brookes Beach.

Fully self contained Coco Loco caters for up to 2 guests with the two pavilions, living and sleeping, set amid tropical gardens, both boasting magnificent Coral Sea views. Bold colours contrast with the natural surrounds. Managed by owners, Steve and Mem, who live near by so no problems with key pickup or assistance if required.

Coco Loco is in a conservation zone and home to an abundance of tropical wildlife. Expect to see a daily parade of local fauna and if the timing is right the iconic cassowary at times up close !

Simple, stylish and comfortable Coco Loco is an ideal tropical getaway if you enjoy being close to nature or just need to fulfil any reclusive desires.

Close to rainforest walking tracks and easy access to nearby retail and tourism centres. Access to owners pool by arrangement.

MINIMUM OF 2 NIGHTS STAY @ $165/NIGHT. STAYS OF 5 TO 7 NIGHTS @ $155/NIGHT

Coco Loco is approximately a 2 hour drive south of Cairns. We recommend you have your own transport during your stay with us. There is a bus service from Cairns Airport to Mission Beach. Car and cycle hire are available at Mission Beach. There is a range of retail and food outlets as well as an excellent local butcher and fishmonger. Woolworths is open 6 days a week.

Beautiful

We had a lovely peaceful weekend. Beautiful little place, loved the out lay. Very clean and tidy and everything was there. Amazing views and a short walk down to the beach. Differently go again.

Lovely retreat

We wanted a week to work, relax, cook for ourselves and take leisurely beach walks. The property was ideal for all of this. Men and Steve were helpful as soon as there were problems and there were only a couple of these that they fixed straight away. We enjoyed meeting them and learning about the area. Highly recommend.

Spotlessly clean, with all essential items supplied. Very comfortable bed. Hosts were easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Great location with beautiful surrounds. Had an amazing couple of days.

A beautiful place in paradise! Coco Loco is a gorgeous private retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Mission Beach with access to the stunning Brooks Beach. Birdsong, butterflies abound and we felt immersed in nature. Such a thoughtfully designed place with the two pavilions, well equipped kitchen and view of the sea. We loved staying at Coco Loco and highly recommend! We’ll be back

This is a wonderful place if you are looking for somewhere peaceful to unwind.You take a beautiful scenic drive through the hills off the main highway and find yourself in a rainforest setting right on the beach. The lovely hosts are next door, very friendly and available but not at all intrusive.The accomodation is split into two uniquely tropical style cabins, one for living and the other for sleeping, and you can see (and hear) the ocean from both. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the presentation of both cabins, right down to the subtle detail of a beautiful vase with a wildflower in each. The kitchen has everything you might need if you prefer to stay in and cook, or there is a variety of good food on offer within a 15 minute drive of the property. Beach access is via a short but slightly steep bush path, or you can walk down the road a little to an easier set of steps. The beach is unbelievably beautiful, and amazingly you have it largely to yourself.Genuinely a secluded piece of your own private paradise!

This is a lovely oasis near secluded Brookes Beach, with a private walk down to the beach. The accommodations are beautiful cabanas with a well stocked kitchen and spacious bed and bathrooms. The pool is shared with the lovely owners who live next door. They are welcoming and easy to communicate with. Note that the setting is a lively jungle and that you might find spiders or critters indoor and will encounter steps on the paths between the car, kitchen and bedroom cabanas. I highly recommend for those looking for a quiet and closer to nature experience!

Little slice of paradise

AMAZING! Couldn’t ask for a more relaxing place to get away. Steve and Mem are amazing host. Beautiful gardens, quiet, peaceful and clean accommodation. Loved the beach (2 minute walk). Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Enjoyed an amazing stay in these beautiful Balinese style bungalows.. the photos don't do this place justice, so much better!. Situated on the very private Brookes beach .. would definitely return again

Fantastic location

We had a fabulous stay. Everything you need at a great price. Very private just out of the main town. A very different experience out of the ordinary. Will visit again for sure. Excellent hostess on site.

Best kept secret ever

The cottages are well equipped and in a superb beachside location. We were relaxing before we unpacked. The location is perfect and Mem our host couldn't be more helpful. All 10's from us.

A gorgeous and Unique property

My partner and I loved our three night stay at the gorgeous hacienda overlooking the ocean. We felt so relaxed and surrounded by nature. The decor of the home was really fun and the colors and feel of the whole place was warm and welcoming. Will definitely return! Love, Ivy and Aaron

Slice of paradise

Mem greeted us after dark and showed us around. There was even a bottle of bubbly in the fridge for my birthday. Everything was immaculate and we wanted for nothing. We spent the next 2 days soaking in the beauty and switching off from the outside world. It exceeded our expectations. The only downside was that we had to leave!

Wonderful location

This was set in a wonderful location right on the beach with beautiful aspect and views. Unfortunately the weather was incredibly wet and damp so we were unable to enjoy the location as much as would have if the weather was good. Nonetheless there was plenty to do nearby during the day so we still made the most of it. Would def like to return when the weather is better.

Most amazing experience

This property is simply stunning. Very private even though you are on same property as the owners. View is simply one of a kind. You can walk down to the beach for a wonderful stroll. Gardens and the art work is quite unique. Very well equipped and we could not have asked for more. We will definately be back whenever we can. Melissa & Crock.

peace and tranquility

My wife and myself stayed with Mem and Steve for a long weekend although the weather was a bit unkind and they where having issues with the water. We still had a very pleasant stay. Our only negative of the weekend is that we didn't see a cassowary.

Amazing Property

We absolutely loved our 3 night stay. The property was better than the pictures. The location was fantastic with beautiful views and our own private track to the beach. The property was very clean and had allot of beautiful touches. There is nothing that we needed as everything had been thought of. Steve and Mem were wonderful hosts and we will definitely return to this beautiful piece of paradise.

Amazing!!

This was absolutely the best experience of my life!! Steve and Mem were the absolute best hosts and were very welcoming! Essentials were provided for and the view is absolutely beautiful! Somewhere like this is a rare find! I would highly recommend this location!
