The Lake House on Lake Limestone

We have been enjoying The Lake House on Lake Limestone since we built it in 2004. We moved here full time when my husband retired in 2014. We love the house so much; we have decided to share it with you. We do still live on the property, but you will have the entire house to yourselves. The dock will occasionally be shared with the owners.

The Lake House is 1800 sq. ft. with four bedrooms that sleep a total of 13 people. It has two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living area. In the winter of 2024, we renovated the house by putting new floors in downstairs. Lake Limestone is centrally located with easy access to Houston, Dallas, and Austin. All are about 2 to 2 1/2 hours away. The lake is famous for its fishing, hosting many fishing tournaments a year.

The house is perfect for family reunions, weekend getaways, or getting together with friends. With eight beds, there is plenty of room for everyone. Although the inside is nice and roomy, you will find yourself spending most of your time outside on the large porch, in the beautiful lawn, or out on the boat dock. The water is just a few yards in front of the house with a gradual slope for going swimming. Enjoy the private dock (sometimes shared with owners) where you can jump off the diving board, fish, sunbathe or just relax and enjoy the scenery.

The Lake House is located on a quiet cove where you are welcome to bring your boat or Jet Ski, with plenty of room to moor on the dock or pull up on shore. We do have neighbors on both sides, but none are permanent residents. The dock also has a sink to clean the fish you catch which may include catfish, bass, crappie and several others. There is also plenty of waterfowl to watch and lots of wildlife around, to include deer, hogs, squirrels, raccoons, armadillos, etc. This is in the country so please expect to see some critters and bugs. We do have a fire pit where you can roast marshmallows or just sit by the fire. We have added a sitting area with lighting around the fire pit to enjoy the evenings by the lake. A total must while you are here is the beautiful sunset every evening!

We do offer a 30-amp RV spot for an additional fee of $75 a night if your group is too big for the house.

Whether you are here to fish, enjoy water activities, or just want to relax and enjoy the peaceful, beautiful surroundings - this is the place to be!

Really nice and relaxing place to get away

The property was exactly as advertised, we really enjoyed our stay. The catfishing was really good from the dock. The kitchen has everything you need. We met the owners Michelle and David and they are very nice people. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved The Lakehouss

We cannot say enough about how perfect The Lakehouse was for us. We had a group of Lady Anglers at Lake Limestone for a Women’s Bass Tour Tournament. The house was perfectly located near the marina, had enough space for the eight of us, the back porch was delightful, and the dock was amazing. We even had enough parking for four trucks with boats. We highly recommend this place.

House couldn’t have been better for our fishing teams that stayed here for a few nights . We were right on the lake and had all the facilities we could want or need for a tournament fishing weekend. Highly recommend this property and the owners are great communication people that make everything clear for your stay. Great location

Great Location Between Dallas and Houston

We had a mixed group from Dallas and Houston, and this served as a centralized location for us to meet up at. Plenty of space for all 8 of us, especially loved the grill. Very underrated point is the house stayed very cool and comfortable.

We rented this home for a high school fishing tournament on Lake Limestone. The property was lovely and clean. The back porch overlooking the lake was the best part! Michelle was a wonderful host and was very responsive to any questions we had.

Our family stayed at Michelle’s property for the weekend of my mother-in-law’s funeral. The house was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the setting on the water was nice as we gathered on the porch, spent time together and talked.

Family gathering

This was a perfect get away. Everyone loved the house. One family member was in a wheel chair, there was plenty space to move her around. The hosts were so nice and very helpful. Also a kid friendly. Cant wait to come back!

More than expected

Sometimes these rentals aren’t as depicted on the website, but this place was great! We had plenty of room inside/outside for everyone and we were a large group. Good fishing right off the dock, and excellent amenities all around. The property manager was very helpful and was available. We will return one day! Thanks

Beautiful View. Fabulous Lake Access. Wonderful Hosts.

We LOVED our stay for so many reasons!! The view of the lake from the enormous covered deck is lovely and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed drinking coffee on it in the mornings and hanging out on it for hours after supper. During the day, the little kids played and waded in the shallow water which they were able to walk right into while the older "kids" hopped on and off our wave runners and boat which we were able to beach (and leave overnight -- a huge convenience). The hosts are sooooo nice and they have stocked the house (which was clean and comfortable, by the way) with everything you might need to have a really great time with your family. 10 - 10 - Recommend

Good Getaway

Took three of our children, spouses and three grandkids to meet other family at Lake Limestone. We live in McKinney, TX so it was about a 2.5hr drive each way. The Lakehouse was as advertised, very clean and extremely well appointed. The dock was set up great for a little fishing where the grandkids all caught something! Our host even came down on Saturday and delivered firewood for us after we asked if we could get some from a nearby brush pile. We were quite satisfied with our stay - would definitely recommend,

Rejuvenating break

We wanted a getaway that erased the stress of work and that was precisely what we got! Located waterfront on Lake Limestone, the property afforded you every opportunity to have the peace and quiet you need. From the calm lake to the country roads, we all enjoyed getting away from the hustle and bustle. The house was spotless, truly the cleanest VRBO we have stayed in, and had everything we could have needed. We loved sitting on the deck drinking coffee and watching the kids play in the yard. Even if you don’t have a boat, the dock was an awesome fishing spot and my kids caught their first fish there! The owners, Michelle and David, were so welcoming, kind and responsive. We even got some great fishing tips! You will not regret renting this property!

I would love to keep this little gem to myself but that wouldn't be fair to the owners who worked so hard to make this place the wonderful vacation rental that it is. The main thing for our family was swimming and using the diving board at the dock. Plenty of places to sit and lots of shade so you could get out of the sun. For us, this trip was more about the grandkids tubing behind the boat. But if we would have fished, the cleaning station and refrigerator on the dock would have been perfect. The house had it's own special charm. It was very clean and had all kinds of fun and interesting wall decor. Lots of pictures and hand made items surrounded us indoors. There was a large coffee table that we used for our jigsaw puzzle. A great way to relax after our busy day on the lake. My personal favorite was the open door pantry with lots of shelves. It kept us from using so much counter space with all the snacks and drinks. The back porch and steps with all the rockers and ceiling fans were perfect for our morning coffee. Thank you so much David & Michelle. Your place set the bar really high.
