About this property
Sunset Cottage - Yarra Valley
"Sunset Cottage" is a beautifully restored and inspirational space offering unique accommodation for the person looking for something different. In its previous life, The cottage has been a store shed, a farm shed, an office and a Tack room. NOW it offers the traveler a calm, relaxing place to stay with a high architectural design and decor. All this whilst enjoying some of the Valley's best views and gorgeous sunsets over the Yarra River. "Yarra Downs" is a 200 acre commercial, working farm. The farm breeds Black Angus cattle located on rich river flats along the Yarra River. Being a working farm, from time to time you may see/hear a tractor, farm vehicle etc, the cottage is naturally, a part of the farm atmosphere. We actively work with a number of local authorities with a desire to restore and re-vegetate our property for habitat value and shelter. Our location is perfect for its proximity to local wineries, music venues, wedding venues, Healesville Sanctuary, local walking and riding trails, the Yarra River. *Other things to note (2 people booking is assumed as a twin share i.e. 1 bedroom use) If you are two people and wish to use both bedrooms, please book for 3 people to secure use of the second bedroom. This will charge you an additional fee to reflect the extra washing and cleaning. Many thanks! NB. Being located on the "Yarra Flats" results in occasional flooding, hence some photos show times of flood on the flats.

Quiet little trip away to remind the kids about nature, this place had rabbits, cows and roos. Property had everything we needed and was very clean. Perfect

Thank you for the review, Lee, you were great guests and we're very happy to know you enjoyed your stay :-)
Pat & Neil's cottage was extremely comfortable and well-appointed with high-quality facilities. The setting was peaceful and private and the outlook over the hills and farmland very scenic. I particularly liked being able to sit on the deck for meals or a drink, and the welcome touches of scones, fruit, chocolate and butter were very muc appreciated. Comfortable bed, modern, clean bathroom and kitchen. Highly impressive and hope to visit again.

Probably not for infants, drives in the Dandenong for full days, shorter and many national parks plus lovely little towns, Marysville a favourite. Having the host not to far away was helpful when you need help.
Thanks for the review Casey, we are happy to know you enjoyed your stay. It was lovely to me you and your family
All the best

Liked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
We liked that there was some food and toiletry supplies available to us, more than most places we have been. Our stay was nice and restful and the sunset was an added pleasure. Sunset lodge was enjoyable to stay at and we would definitely return to again in the future. The hosts were welcoming and communicated well with us. Thank you Pat and Neil.. 😀
