From the sundeck, onto the lawn and straight down onto the sandy shores of Te Horo Beach — for a sunny, summer, bachy escape, look no further than The Beachsider.
It’s all in the name, The Beachsider is as close as you can get to days spent with toes in the sand and cooling off in the sea. Wake up and enjoy your morning coffee in the fresh air on the sundeck looking down to the water, then cook up a big breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen to fuel the family for summer adventures.
The open plan living, dining and kitchen area offers a great space for everyone to relax at the end of a busy day. Fire up the BBQ and enjoy dining together indoors or outside as the sun sets. There is also plenty of outdoor seating underneath the house, accessed on the seaside of the property beside the large deck — a great sheltered spot to unwind or gather for a meal.
With all the essentials you might need on hand, you can’t go wrong. Even in winter, The Beachsider has you covered with electric heaters available to keep everyone toasty warm.
Be sure to get out and explore the Kapiti Coast — The Beachsider is just 15 minutes from Otaki Beach, or head in the other direction to Waikanae Beach or Paraparaumu.
A bit of peace and quiet meets the best of a summer adventure — welcome to The Beachsider. Please note that the bunk beds are only suitable for children to use.
As the property has unfenced access to the beach, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water.

The location - a few steps from the beach - was fantastic. The house had a rustic, homely charm and everything we needed.

We had a wonderful tech free long weekend, location is awesome, bach homely and welcoming (lots of games and music) beach was wonderful. Shower and barb b need work but the scenery and experience meant that it didn’t matter.
Apart from a couple of power cuts, resolved spontaneously. Recommend torches.
And the access code for lockbox was incorrect on welcome instructions. Bachcare contacted and were able to give us the correct code.
Otherwise, just what we wanted for few days away. No internet, no TV, just beachfront and fabulous sunsets !

Seaside
The location was stunning. The bach made very loud noises when the wood expanded and contracted which made sleeping difficult. We were provided with 1 towel and 1 flannel for 2 people for 5 nights!!! We were assured this would be rectified but we never saw anymore towels and follow up contact was ignored. There were no bathmats or handtowels either.
Rustic, old fashion bach feel, indoor-outdoor worked well. Connection to beach and local surrounds was excellent.

Proper bach feel
The property had a cosy feel and was situated ideally. Unfortunately it was not ready at the arranged time - had not even been cleaned from the previous people and the numbers I had confirmed had not been relayed to the property manager. Fortunately she had extra linen on board and my sister helped her get the place ready. I arrived later on. There was no soap for the shower and no dishwashing liquid. The dining room table was unusable and the outside door handles onto the deck kept falling off. Small ant infestation in the kitchen is just a beach thing, we could live with that.
We left the place nice feeling it could have been better, its such a nice house, just needs some tlc.
So relaxing
Comfortable beds
No fuss
Right on the beach
Quiet neighbourhood
Old school beach holiday
No stress
Good surf
Incredible sunsets
Great board games!!
Old style Kiwi batch, which can be cute. This place however is run down. Messy garden, door handles falling off (yes, both main doors). Chimney looks dangerous. The place was musty, very dusty and kitchen stuff sticky. Outdoor light not working. The bed was surprisingly good next to everything else. Sorry to give a negative review. But for the price we paid it was disappointing.
