Who We Are

We are Francesco Oliveti, Scott Short and Edelín Salas Calderón and our passion is design. We operate an innovative “concept store”, Salamastra, in the historic center of Gallipoli, a few steps from Palazzo Salapolis. We create home furnishings and all of the unique pieces you will find inside our apartments… creations inspired by our world travels, local baroque traditions and Gallipoli’s marine atmosphere. In addition to fashion, jewelry, home accent pieces, chandeliers, majolica and home linens, we design an exclusive collection of accessories in precious leather. Shoes, sneakers, ballerinas, sandals, belts, wallets, bags and suitcases, made entirely of genuine python, lizard and other exotic leathers. Available at our shop in old Gallipoli and in our online store.

In the oldest part of Gallipoli, between the Castle and the ancient Spanish border walls, Palazzo Salapolis is a former grand Bourbon residence, containing fully furnished apartments recently renovated, spread over three floors.

The unique apartments were created respecting their original configuration, according to the inspiration of designer Francesco Oliveti, in collaboration with Marcello Barba. Located in the historic old city only a short walk from the cathedral “il Duomo”, the Purità beach and via Antonietta de Pace, among ancient streets and timeless charm.

Amazing vaulted ceilings, original palladian floors from the 1600’s and cement tiles from the early 1900’s with geometric and floral motifs, along with furniture and “objets de vertu” designed by Salamastra combine to create a “Cabinet of Curiosities” baroque-mediterranean style and are special ingredients for a unique stay in Gallipoli.


Information about the structure

Salapolis Luxury Apartments are located in the old town of Gallipoli, just 200 meters from the beach. Originally built in the 1600’s, Palazzo Salapolis consists of 5 apartments / holiday homes, fully furnished with designer furniture, suitable for couples and groups of up to 6 people. The establishment has been active since 2012, after completing a full restoration of the property, with all new appointments.
The apartments have fully equipped kitchenettes with dining areas, new bathrooms, air conditioning, flat screen TVs and free wifi.

Key Design Elements include: the original palladian flooring from the 1600’s and an architectural structure with dramatic vaulted ceilings unique to the region. The furnishings are original, in some cases artisanal, with unique designs and affrescos created by design firm Salamastra, a trademark recognized in various publications (AD, Viaggio Puglia, Dove, Elle Italia).

The contrast between the historic architecture and the designer furnishings and accents creates an emotional shock that will make your holiday memorable.

Large rooms that overlook the ancient alleyways of the “Città bella” or “beautiful city“, with spaces where every details is taken care of and the element of the sea is evoked by shells and corals everywhere.

For guest, a terrace overlooks the ancient rooftops and church steeples of the city, to enjoy the sea breezes and relax. A complimentary continental breakfast is served every morning on the terrace or in the building.

Our designer apartments are spacious and furnished for every comfort: full kitchens equipped for dining, flat screen TVs, free fast wifi, and air conditioning. Select apartments with independent terraces. On-site housekeeping staff daily, new furnishings in the common areas and breakfast on our rooftop terrace. We look forward to hosting you!
Palazzo Salapolis is in the heart of Gallipoli’s historic center, close to all of the main tourist attractions (churches, museums, historic buildings, castle), commercial services (restaurants, bars, artisan shops) and only a few meters from the characteristic Purità Beach.
In the vicinity of Salapolis, you can rent bikes, scooters and cars.
Taxi service in ape-car, panoramic tours and reservation of excursions and guided tours, are available. Shuttle services from airports and to and from beaches can be arranged.
The local free beach in the old city is only a 5 minute walk away. Furnished beach clubs with beds, umbrellas and restaurant services are 10 minutes away via car or taxi.
