Step off the back porch and onto your PRIVATE dock!!! Watch the egrets soar, hear the rustle of wind in the marsh, and smell the salt air!

This adorable cottage by the sea has been here more than 100 years, and is just as adorable today as it was when it was built. It's got a wonderful open layout, with a nice deck and back yard that leads to your private dock! The side porch is a great place to sit and relax in the shade

Inside you will find a huge kitchen, with tons of working space, a cozy living room and 50” tv.

There is one bedroom on the main level with a queen bed, and a twin bed. There’s a full bath, washer and dryer on this level.

Upstairs you will find two light filled bedrooms and a full bath between them.
The bedroom overlooking the water has a king sized bed, and the one overlooking the street has a queen.

High end towels and linens, comfortable beds, black out curtains - we want you to love your stay here.

Large back deck with a gas grill, private dock that you can moor your boat!

Well equipped kitchen, washer/dryer. This is a cute home, built in 1910. It's survived most of the hurricanes and is packed with history. It's steps from downtown Swansboro, and you can walk to almost everything. The home has been in my family more than 50 years, and it's got a great feel.

BEACH ACCESS: The closest beach with "waves" is Emerald Isle. Its about a 20 minute drive. You can take a private charter to "bear island" aka Hammocks Beach State Park on the Lady Swan for a minimal fee. There is also the NC State Ferry that you can take to Hammocks Beach State Park, google for all the info.

BOAT RAMP: The boat ramp (NC Wildlife ramp) is about a mile from the house, very convenient for launching and retrieving the boat or jet ski!

BOATERS: Dock info. The dock is private. It has about 2 feet of water at low tide and 6 feet at high tide. It's easy to access from the ICW. You need to make certain the tower/console will fit under the White Oak River Bridge. It has about 6 feet of clearance from waterline to bridge at high tide. Most boats under 26' don't have any problems.

This is a nice house for up to 6 adults in a great area. Lots of restaurants, bars and beautiful sights in the area. We were visiting our son on USMC liberty and this house was great for us to gather in. I would caution those with small children, the water and the proximity to the roadway would be a concern anytime they were outside. While the house is located close to a four lane road, it was surprisingly quiet inside. Additionally, the parking for the house is adjacent to a very popular (for good reason) Italian restaurant. The staff was very respectful of the house parking area. Up to three vehicles would no be an issue. This area was relatively quiet around November when we visited, but in peak summer season I'm sure it is very busy. The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked. Overall, if you are okay with the location and have older kids and/or only adults, this is a good stay in the Swansboro area.

Location was great being there were restaurants and great views in walking distance. Amazing view and very tranquil to sit out on the dock. However, the house was filled with palmetto bugs/cockroaches. They were visiting us throughout our stay and were on the countertops which is not ideal when you’re trying to cook. Was looking for a convenient place to stay with young children for a destination wedding but unfortunately was on edge the whole trip while opening cabinets etc. The bugs were pretty large and tainted our stay. The owner said they spray but thinking they need to get a better handle on the bug situation because who wants to deal with that when they are on vacation. Other than that, the upstairs bathroom had great water pressure and a clean/new tub for the kids bath. Enjoyed the space and the views. House is stocked with basically what you need in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom.

The code to checkin/unlock the door was incorrect. There were dead bugs on the floor and it looked like no one had been there in quite some time. Beautiful location, but the house needs work.

This house was perfect for our family and accompanied our two flats boats easily. Parking was a bit tricky while we got unpacked, etc but the owner of the restaurant next door was very pleasant to work with. This was only a concern while we had our boats on trailers, etc. Host was a pleasure to work with!!

Absolute GEM!!

Love our stay at this home! The age of the house gave it so much character! From what appeared to be the original floors, doors and steps, it is a very cozy stay with great space and the best damn view you could ask for. My family enjoyed fishing from the private pier, rear deck and back yard. The only 2 challenges were the parking that you share with the great Italian restaurant next door and the home sits off a pretty busy road. But honestly, i never heard how busy the road was during the entire stay and my family with 6 vehicles still managed the parking over Father's Day weekend. My only recommendation would be a 11am check out vs a 10am check out.I would definitely return to this beautiful home for a future vacation stay with my wife.

Idyllic spot

We visitors this property for a short visit. We found it charming and convenient. There is a wall of windows that face east and in the morning at sunrise the space is bathed in a beautiful golden yellow. We loved it.

My husband, sister, and brother-in-law enjoyed the quaintness and character of the home. Views were amazing! I loved the fact that I knew the people associated with the house. We enjoyed being able to walk to the shops in downtown Swansboro. Even though the fish were not biting, it was still nice having a private dock. It was a very relaxing getaway! Lovely old home on the White Oak

It was so peaceful on the dock. I just chilled for several days and walked across the highway to eat. My grandson packed up my bathroom things for me and accidentally put your blow dryer in my bag, sorry. I need an address to mail it back. Such a lovely old home!

Made the Best of it Despite Tropical Storm

House was clean and well stocked. Views of White Oak River were incredible. Walking distance to all the restaurants in Swansboro. The shared driveway with Il Cigno Italiano was a little annoying at dinner time, but that was minor. Evan was super responsive and helpful and on top of things when the power went out due to a tropical storm. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent Stay

The cottage was perfect for us to spend time with our grandson. We fished on the dock and at the point. Everything at the cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay.

Great House

The house is in very good shape and we were provided with all of the necessities, including trash bags, dishwashing detergent, paper towels, toilet, paper, etc. The owners took great care in making sure the house was perfect for a group of four adults. The house would be also very good for a family. We would definitely stay there again.

Hidden Gem

Wonderful place to stay for a couple of days when to visiting my son whoo is a marine stationed at New River. Came to spend the Easter holiday. This home is situated off a busy road butlt you don't hear the traffic and it's like you're in your own little Oasis. Beautiful water views, wonderful sunrises ,clean comfortable beds, and close to so many restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Looking forward to staying again. We used the kyak and the house had plenty of beach chairs for a relaxing day at the beach. Highly recommend!

Had a great time at Evans historic home. Close to downtown Swansboro and other area attractions. Absolutely beautiful sunrises from the dock.

Winter coastal getaway

Fun stay! Beautiful historic cottage with mesmerizing views of the White Oak River. Perfect for two couples. Very responsive host and easy check in/out process. We lingered over the views, delicious meals and walks to downtown Swansboro. The home was very well-appointed and full of character and charm. Proximity to Hwy 24 was not an issue during our stay. The sunrises and sunsets were a main attraction. Would recommend for a relaxing visit to the NC coast.

This property is so neat. It's "in the family" if you will, and has been part of the family for decades. It's got such a wonderful location next to historic swansboro, a private dock, and such a great story. It's been built and rebuilt a few times, and it's got a ton of character.

Sited at the mouth of the White Oak River and the intersection of the Intracoastal Waterway, it is tidal, salty, and attracts a huge amount of wildlife - from dolphins and egrets, to shrimp and mackerel. It's within walking distance of the best of Swansboro, a historic town that has been lovingly kept and gently updated. We are steps from some of the best restaurants, shops, and attractions in the area.

Truly a wonderful place to come and relax, the home exudes calm, peaceful, and a slower way of life. I love staying here, and know that you will as well.
