Mark is a perfect host—always clear, helpful, and incredibly supportive. We were in the area for work, and the team who stayed with him had a wonderful experience. Thank you, Mark! Until next time.
Most of our extended family was able to meet here as a halfway point between Montana and Texas. It was an amazing get away for our large group with plenty of room for everyone to have space. The Mountain View’s were absolutely gorgeous. Mark was a wonderful host that made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay.
My family had an awesome time during our stay in the cabin. Mark, the owner was very friendly and welcoming. We plan to definitely rent the property again.
This was a nice place to gather and spend time with extended family. The host was very nice and gracious. The Geyser springs hike is very close and the stream is really pretty at the parking lot for the trailhead. Beautiful location.
A great escape from the Texas heat. The cabin was just what we wanted and Mark was a great and accommodating host. Plenty of hiking trails and the river just across the road. We love this area of Colorado and this place did not disappoint.
This was our second time staying at the Red Cliff Lodge. It was beautiful. Mark is always welcoming and made our family getaway easy. Thank you Mark once again
This is in a lovely location. We were here for Christmas and yes, it was a ways back “in the sticks” but thats what we love about this place. Mark was tremendously nice and helpful. We would definitely rent from him again!
The property owner had everything set up so convenient. There was so much to do and we didn’t have to bring anything but food. The property, the house, and the porches were so big and cozy. It’s a must for winter vacation! We are considering rebooking for the summer too! No cell reception was great for a true break. Also the house number is really 9207
Clean and spacious home with large open living space for large groups...we had 17 in our group and all were comfortable. Far enough from neighboring cabins to give a sense of privacy. Thoughtful owner provided bird seed and hummingbird food...the kids loved it!
Only downside was that the river (though we could see and hear it) was across the road and down a steep incline. Not really very accessible. However, we could drive a short way to a more accessible spot.
Pros:
-Beds were super comfortable
-Cabin layout was perfect for our large group
-Kitchen had plenty of space, plenty of dishes
-Lots and lots of extra towels and bedding
-Host was easy to reach and super chill
-Cabin was comfortable
-Location is gorgeous
-Good internet service
Cons:
-Cabin is old and hasn’t been updated. Not a problem for our group at all (actually a plus), but some people might mind
-There weren’t curtains in most bedrooms (but our kids wouldn’t have slept in anyway)
-There were cows on the property (not a problem for us, but some people might consider that an issue)
-Road coming in from the north is a little treacherous (so if you’re not in a truck or SUV, consider coming in from the south)
Overall, a great stay and we will be back!!
The owner Mark was very accommodating, immediately responding to all questions & going over & beyond w/ all requests. Cabin is as advertised : older & in many phases of renovation. Does have a cozy mountain cabin feel. But for us the main reason we booked this cabin was purely for its location! And it didn’t disappoint !! The Location’s Simply Picturesque, surrounded by mountains, nature, river, & all types of wildlife. The cabin hosts a family of Bluebirds which visit the patio regularly along with the hummingbirds! Hiking , ATV, & mountain biking trails galore. You can see & hear the river from the cabins patio. Colorado’s only Natural Geyser’s located 1 1/2 down the gravel road & its definitely worth the hike back into! Overall thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this amazing location!
The cabin was beautiful, the host (Mark) was wonderful. He was very happy to help with any questions we had and great with anything we needed. The upper deck was furnished with muilpty tables and chairs and a grill( which we used). The commercial stove in kitchen was great and the kitchen was stocked with pots and pots, plates, etc...
The beds were comfortable and lots of towels as we did have a party of 16.
I will say that you just need to prepare yourself for a long drive to cabin. As it's about 35 miles out of Dolores on rd 38 and about half of it is on gravel. Also, the address needs to be updated to the 911 address which the older address is not correct on the Google maps or Apple maps.
The internet did work but calling out on cell phone was a little difficult.
The trails for utv (ohv) was amazing. You don't have to go anywhere. Make Redcliff your base and staging area and off you go. I would recommend downloading Ride Command (will say Polaris for the app) for the trails in that area. It worked great!!
Mark was a great host!!
We had a group of 14.
1. Stove had no dial/knob marks. Very difficult to cook with without them. Inaccurate settings.
2. Washer/dryer area in basement very dank, dirty, disheveled, dusty appliances, trash piling up from our visit.
3. Mr Coffee 12 cup pot took 45 minutes to brew, so we bought another (30 cup) at a thrift store. Took 20 minutes.
4. Accommodations were adequate, supplies ok, vintage electric stove served as bread storage.
5. “Carpeted” upstairs bath was hard to dry out.
6. Host was informative and nice, but sort of eased over some of the “rough” parts.
7. Think we might come back, but the house is a “work in progress” and needs work. Rustic is ok but it has some repairs needed.
8. Place appears to be for sale
9. Needs lighting help inside!
10. Little on the musty side. Drapes, furniture and carpets.
It was a great experience, perfect for hunting trips. Will stay again

property location
It was in a very beautiful setting, but it was a one hour drive from Dolores to the property. The web site didn't make that clear. Had we known that, we would have chosen a different listing. The property was old as we could see from the photos, but it was really a fixer upper. The bottom floor was storace room for clutter and it smelled so keep the doors closed.
Mr. Roger's was a great host! He helped with anything and everything we needed. We loved the property. Great for our south Texas kids to snowboard and sled.
