Great views from A Second Home in Denali, vacation rental, close to the Park!

A Second Home has four bedrooms and two and a half bedrooms, LARGE dining room with a table for all, kitchen and living room, and laundry room. Each bedroom has its own TV and there is a LARGE screen TV in the living room. Guests often mention the home has beautiful views and is spacious for families and friends to gather comfortably. It is currently listed as a favorite for 2026 with VRBO readers.

You will see more trees and mountains than people when you are here. THIS PROPERTY HAS TO BE OWNER-OCCUPIED, AS PER HOA RULES.. Owners' space is a completely separate area with a different area.

Second Home has a LARGE, private deck in the backyard that looks out on mountain views. It's the only Denali vacation rental with a completely paved driveway and parking area and two acres of quiet lawns and woodlands. It has a turn-around driveway with plenty of space for parking.

Owners are year-round Alaskans who have been hosting guests for 37 years in the Denali Area. They book rental cars and give accurate tour desk information. They offer free transfers to and from the Denali Depot if you book a rental car AND reserve train tickets through them.. If you are confused about tours and transit buses and attraction in the Park, ask your hosts. They have accurate and timely information based on personal experience.

They have up-to-date information about Denali National Park, the area and the state. Their tips will save you money and time. Example: be sure to take the East Fork Transit Bus for $33.50 (2025 prices) instead of the Tundra Wilderness Tour for $144.50. The transit bus is narrated too. Please ask if you have Denali questions. Service is an important part of their offerings.

A Second Home was incredible! It is easily the cleanest VRBO we have stayed in. The decor was tastefully done. The entire house was well appointed and organized. The hosts had anticipated all our needs. Oh, yes, the views were spectacular and easily accessible from many places in the house.

Great location, comfortable home

Excellent quiet location with wildlife and nature at your back door. Spacious and well appointed house easily accommodated our group of 5 adults. Communications with host were great. They checked with us shortly after arrival and quickly restocked the bath towels.

Healy Vacation

The host was the best. She offered to help with reservations and saved us a significant amount of money on our Denali bus adventure, on which, by the way, we saw most of Denali. The house was very attractive, with lots of acreage, and it was very well-appointed. We were very pleased with the entire experience. Highly recommended!

Everything was very comfortable. The yard is beautiful. We saw a Mama moose and 2 babies across the street. It was a very enjoyable stay.

The home was extremely large, comfortable, clean and roomy! The owners were very helpful with setting up our tours ahead of time, responses were very timely! We enjoyed the Moose in the open backyard to the trees and mountain views. We would definitely stay here again if ever in the Denali area!

I took a few colleagues on a short side trip to Denali, it was a great spot for 6 of us to stay for the night. Beautiful views and easy access to the park.

Our stay at Second Home in Denali was exceptional!

Ann proactively shared useful tips before our arrival. She personally greeted us and showed off the house. The space was spotless, the bedrooms spacious, the kitchen was well-equipped. Stunning views and a memorable visit from a mother moose and her two calves made our stay unforgettable. Thank you, Ann!

Beware: Second Home in Denali is not like home unless you live in a construction site.

In 20 years of VRBOs, I've never needed to file a public complaint until staying at Second Home in Denali, in Healy, Alaska. Our party of 6 rented two homes in Alaska. We chose "Second Home in Denali" because we thought it was a quiet, luxury home in a beautiful location. We did not get that. Days before arrival (after cancellation dates) I got an email that "construction is STILL going on at the apartment to the side of your rental." I wasn't sure what that meant, but since we paid 10 months prior, what to do? RENTERS BEWARE: This meant full house renovation 9 a.m. to 5/6 p.m. Weekends included. The owners are building a separate apartment inside the VRBO just beyond a locked hollow core door. We listened to air compressors, nail guns, tile saws, contractor music and conversations all week. Dust seeped under doors. When I asked Ann to come see, she asked what compensation would be fair. When we told her half of what we paid, she started avoiding us. She denied each request to pause construction. Ann reimbursed us half her profit in the end, but it's not half what we paid. She said VRBO takes too much. We are not satisfied. When she said my mother, age 79, should've napped at her house and closed the second story bathroom curtains if she didn't want construction workers looking in (they worked on all house windows), I decided to warn others. Ann and Terry were the only negative in an otherwise perfect trip of a lifetime.

Quiet getaway

The property is very quiet and peaceful. It was very clean, stocked with all the necessities and the property owner was very responsive. We enjoyed the close location to Denali and a local grocery store! The highlight of the stay was a moose and her twin babies who visited the backyard on a daily basis!

Amazing Host

The house was perfect for us. It had tons of space and everything we needed. The location was ideal. What truly stood out was our host. We left a ukulele at the property by accident, and she went to tremendous lengths to return it to us. There were many messages back and forth, coordination with a bus driver, and a long trip to deliver it to the bus. Ann has a huge heart and we are very grateful to her.

Most likely you will see more trees and mountains than people when you stay at A Second Home in Denali. It is on a quiet street two blocks from "downtown" Healy, which is the closest year-round community to Denali National Park. It is a clean, quiet and well-appointed property run by year-round Alaskans. This property is in an HOA that requires the property be owner occupied.

Second Home has four lockable bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. It has two acres of lawns and forest. There are beautiful mountain views from the back of the home.

It is 1/2 mile from Highway #3. It's close enough to restaurants and attractions and tours, and far enough away to be quiet and private.

There are many features provided for your comfort: dishwasher, laundry room with washer, dryer, and hanging racks, BBQ, large porches, coded entry, TV's in every bedroom and in the large living room, pellet stove for that fireplace feeling without the mess, stocked kitchen, microwave, two ovens, extra drawer in the refrigerator, and more.

The owners have been hosting guests in the Denali area for 33 years. They know Denali National Park and the surrounding neighborhoods. They personally know the restaurants, activities, railroad destinations and flight companies. They can save you 5% on many Denali attractions. They provide rental cars with free pick up and delivery back when you rent a car from their Keys to Denali, car rental. They can save you 5% on railroad tickets throughout the state, 5% on fjords trips and 5% on flights around Denali.
