Everything you need for a short getaway

This small one bedroom/living room with one bath is the perfect getaway for a two to four night stay. Great views with almost immediate access to Daytona at your door.

Long weekend trip

The stay was very nice. The accommodations were good. Easy access to the pool and beach. The people at the complex were very friendly. The buildings are older, but they are kept up. I had a small issue with the room, which I contacted the host and he had the property manager there right away. I would stay there again.

This was our second stay in this unit! We love the location, the unit was clean and has a great 3rd floor view of the lanai and the ocean! Check in was a snap. As mentioned on other reviews, there is some condensation run off from the AC unit on the balcony, but did not bother us. The only issue we experienced, and it had nothing to do with the unit itself, was the downstairs second floor neighbor chain smoked cigarettes and weed which made it impossible to sit outside for 2 days. Thankfully they were not there the rest of the stay. Absolutely love the views and location and will stay again! Thank you Lance for sharing your pad!Mike & Kim

Great Accomodations and Ocean View

We loved our stay. This unit has a wonderful view of the ocean where I watched the sunrise each morning.

Beach access was a plus. The location is not in the nicest complex. Bed was super uncomfortable.

Location, location, location

Being right on the beach was amazing, but with the bugs on the patio, we barely got to enjoy it. The queen bed was comfortable, but the condo needs a refresh, theres a slight odor of mildew.Parking is a nightmare and so is trying to get a parking pass. Pool is being renovated currently sp no sleeping in.

Location was good, bed was comfortable, view from the balcony was perfect. Close to other activities. No problems with most things. The biggest issue that trumped it all was the AC not working. We had to go to a nearby Walmart to by a fan just to cope with the heat. Sent a message to the guest contact and he tried his best to rectify the situation. Building management came by to check but couldn't resolve. Daytona was having a heat wave which didn't help. Repair services were swamped so we decided to cut our trip short and go home. A refund was given which made up for that. I imagine if everything worked properly, this would be a great place to stay. Sorry it didn't work out.

A little dated

This has a good vibe. Water was hot air was cold and it had all of the basics. It’s not 5 star but it’s a fun place and the beach is right there. I liked it.

Absolutely perfect!

The room was as pictured, stunning view, clean, easy check in process and everything we could ever possibly need was in the room. First aid kit, shampoo, conditioner, sunblock, towels, wash cloths, dishes, cooler, beach chair and we especially appreciated the fan since my husband and I both are used to sleeping with a fan on. I would a million times over stay here again! Zero complaints:)

Nice Location

This studio apartment was right on the beach! The view was awesome with a tall table and chairs to see over the balcony. Unfortunately there was no beach access due to the hurricane damage in the fall. Everything was pretty clean. Mostly needed some TLC to update some rusty items and worn out items. The AC worked great. Overall 4 stars, mainly for location and view. It really could be a great place with some updating.

not for long stays

you had to let the hot water run for 5 to 10 minutes to get it hot, if you had more than 2 electronic pieces of equipment you needed to purchase an extension cord that wasn't near water. The coffee pot was missing a funnel and the owner had hidden a pot that was usable. if you stayed longer than 2 days you needed to get soap, shampoo and toilet paper, the bed was worn out and lumpy office had no luggage cart to take your clothing up to the room so if you had more than 2 pieces per person you had to make more than one triphowever the room was clean

Bikeweek Stay

We have stayed at the Ocean Jewel several times in the past for Bikeweek- a total of 3, different condos all 3 times. This was another pleasant experience. The condo was very clean, very well stocked with regard to kitchen-ware, toiletries, towels, etc. The view was EXCEPTIONAL from the balcony- we spent every morning and night there (and had a white Great Egret visit us every morning on the balcony railing for breakfast, pretty cool). Quiet at night. We didn't have an issue with parking since we rode in to town on our motorcycles, but I would imagine parking a vehicle would be difficult with the limited spaces available (not the condo owners fault, construction had an entire lot closed down). Pool was closed- but again, not the condo owners fault. Seamless booking, check-in, and check-out process. Highly recommend for 2 people.

Very Disappointed - NO AC or HOT WATER

The DAY BEFORE our stay I received an email stating the A/C does not work and would be offered a 10% discount for the troubles. Which in turn came out to $13.00 a night for our two night stay! Should have been one free night. Then we found out we also have no hot water. So our two nights there we had no A/C and no Hot Water. Probably the worst experience I have ever stayed in. Gave me one day notice about no A/C. I know they knew about before I came but failed to let me know until one day before my arrival. Didn't have a chance to find another place. I understand a Hurricane came through a week before but if something like A/C is out that should be mentioned right away for guest to find another room else where. Very Disappointed

Wouldn’t Book Again

I would not book this listing again. It was in a good location and had a nice pool with direct beach access, unlike the listing says. However, upon arrival to the room we noted a distinct food smell lingering in the room but tried to ignore it. The patio has a nice view but it’s hard to enjoy because the patio is falling apart. There are exposed pipes, chipping paint, a leaky AC unit that kept the patio wet at all times and due to it being constantly wet there appeared to be black mold or at least a black sludge under the railing and the ac unit. While we sat on the patio I looked through the window to see bugs flying in between the windows and the curtains. The bed is uncomfortable and the blanket provided doesn’t cover the entire bed so it’s impossible to share with anyone, the sheets were also dirty upon arrival. There are no replacements provided. We found multiple dirty dishes in the cabinets and when we went to wash them we found there was no sponge or brush provided to actually clean dishes, we also had to provide our own. Building is old and not well maintained, parking is crowded and limited, we often had to walk across the entire building once we did find a spot. Limited pots and pans, only bowls provided were plastic baby bowls. Cook tops were disgustingly dirty and when I tried to use a can opener it was completely rusted. Overall just not a well maintained unit and it needs a lot of work.

Daytona Beach front perfect for a short get away

We rented this property for biketoberfest in Daytona two weeks following hurricane Ian-Daytona had a lot more damage then you heard on the news. We were entered in a bike contest and needed to check in and could not get our check in info-finally got ahold of the owner and the management group and we were supposed to be canceled due to damage to the unit! We were devastated and the owner graciously agreed to let us stay and give us a partial refund due to no air conditioning and a repair hole in the ceiling-it was hot, but we were able to create a cross breeze and we had a place to stay NEAR Main Street but also away from Main Street. The people who live there are wonderful and I would stay there again. Great pool! Side night-may be problematic for anyone with mobility issues-it’s on the third floor and we never found an elevator-so all stairs.

Great View - Great Unit

The unit was bright and as advertised, great decor and fresh paint. Awesome full shower. Nice full size fridge and 2 burner cooktop was great to have. The bed seemed new and was very comfortable (a previous review had noted bad bed) not our experience. The unit is a little cramped but well worth the price. We did spend some time cleaning, not terrible, but should’ve been a lot cleaner than it was. We washed all kitchen utensils and appliances - cleaned counters and had to clean floor. Overall we loved our week and would definitely book again.

New bed needed

Our stay would have been much better if the bed had been updated. We did not sleep at all the first night because the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The bed/mattress needs to be replaced. The boxsprings/support was worn out and we kept “meeting in the middle” . We ended up using this as a day room and stayed the next 3 nights at a hotel 20 miles away.

Beautiful Patio View!

This property was accurate to the description! The condo was very clean and had a beautiful view from the patio overlooking the ocean. It was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay but would not have additional room for kids as the condo is small. My only issue was upon arrival, we had to call Lance as we couldn't find the condo since it is located in one of 3 buildings with the same address number. Lance was extremely helpful and understanding and the condo was found immediately after speaking to Lance. I highly suggest this property and would have no problems renting it again in the future! An added bonus is that it is within walking distance to the boardwalk and many restaurants located along the oceanfront making it very convenient to have a drink without having to drive.

We were met on entry by a huge roach, I know Florida has roaches but if you see one in broad daylight there is a hundred you can't see. Kitchen was very greasy, we didn't use it. Picture of the unit was not the unit we received and management never responded when contacted. Elevator didn't work but the pool and location was great. The bed must have been broken in the middle, serious dip to the center, very uncomfortable
