Why Gordon Silverthorne chose Fernie
I built this property as an addition to my fly fishing business, Kootenay Fly Shop & Guiding Company.
What makes this Lodge unique

Really great location and well stocked home!
Had 2 couples, two kids, two pups, and three guys over the Christmas holidays for some boarding and sledding. Was ample space and amenities for us all! We’ll certainly be back for another stay next time we have a large group in Fernie. Thanks again Gord!
Thank you for your review Rob and I'm glad to hear that everyone enjoyed their stay, despite the cold temperatures!!
Love to have you back on your next Fernie visit.
Fun in Fernie!
We just spent 3 nights at Tightlines Lodge. Our party of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The lodge had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. The use of the hot tub was exactly what was needed at the end of the day! The king suite upstairs was perfect for my husband and I and our son and his friends had the use of the basement with bedrooms. This lodge can accommodate many people. It was close to the Fernie Alpine Ski Resort and was also conveniently located in town and near the river. Had a fantastic time in Fernie! Gord was great to work with and very accessible if we had any questions or needs. Would definitely come again.
Great to hear the lodge worked out so perfectly for your family.
We hope you stay with us again soon.
Fernie Tightlines Lodge
Great place for Fishermen
Our group of ten fishermen have stayed at Tightlines Lodge for the past several years. The accommodations are very good. Upstairs is the master bedroom with king bed and futon. I've slept on the futon for the last three years and it's very comfortable. The room also has a shower, sink and toilet. The hot tub is on the deck outside. The main level has a wraparound deck, big barbecue, dining room that seats eight, living room, breakfast nook with seating for four and a full kitchen. It's quite well equipped as far as pots, pans, plates, cups, glasses and utensils are concerned. There is also a bathroom off the kitchen (sink and toilet) that is available to the people in the lodge before the fly shop opens and after the fly shop (which is in the same building) closes. Downstairs is a game room, four bedrooms that sleep 6-7 people, a 3/4 bath plus washer and dryer. When you get up in the morning, walk out on the back deck and look up at the "Three Sister " that tower in front of you, you'd think you had died and gone to heaven.
Gord, the owner of the facility is a pleasure to deal with. He does everything possible to make sure you have a pleasant stay. He went above and beyond to help us last week (August 18-22, 2015). We had arranged four shuttles for our boats on Thursday and after we had put the boats in and headed down the Elk someone let the air out of two tires on every vehicle at the access site. Gord and his shuttle crew went above and beyond to help us. He could have left us to find our own means to solve our dilemma. Instead they got a compressor and went to work inflating tires on a total of 16 vehicles at three different access sites on the river. What could have been a very long day for us turned out instead to be a very long day for his shuttle crew. Their efforts were greatly appreciated. All of us would highly recommend this Lodge to anyone.
Large comfortable house for a larger group
Skiing at Fernie didn't have much snow this year, but the Tightlines Lodge was a fantastic headquarters for our group. There are lots of bedrooms with comfortable beds, a hot tub with a fantastic view of the mountains, and a BBQ that works with all the tools you need. The two main floors each have a large living room so some people watching TV doesn't interfere with others that are visiting upstairs. It is an easy walk to downtown and restaurants and only about a 10 minute drive to the Fernie ski hill (1.5 hours to Kimberley). Gord was also very friendly and helpful when we had questions or needed something. I will come back here when we return in a year with snow.
Fantastic for Groups and Kids
We loved our stay at Tightlines Lodge in Fernie! We had four couples and two young children stay three nights in the lodge. There was ample space, two cozy living areas, and equipped kitchen, all within walking distance of great restaurants and downtown shops.
The bathrooms were small, with one being in the king suite, and there is no tub for young kids, but we managed just fine. It is right off the highway, and attached to a fishing shop, but it was still quiet. The hot tub was a wonderful way to start and end our day with the mountain views!
The owner is accessible and willing to help you out if you need anything at all!
This is the best place I have ever stayed at. Enough rooms to easily accommodate the 7 of us. The hot tub is the perfect way to end a day. I would highly recommend this place for anyone. Gord was a pleasure to work with.
