Wonderful Place!

We had a wonderful stay in Longboat Key! The place was clean, check-in was easy. Host was responsive and easy to communicate with. Wonderful location..easy walk to beach and quick walk to nearby plaza with restaurants. Pool, hot tub, and laundry were all wonderful amenities!

Great location close to good restaurants.

We had a great time. We enjoyed the pool which is close to our accommodation and the other guests were delightful. Parking is very convenient, and the beach is a short walk away.Next time we would consider a first-floor unit as my wife had some difficulty with the stairs.

LBK Beach Castle

Great location on LBK. Well appointed condo with beach and bay access. Nice deck overlooking fountain and palm trees. Has all you need. We loved it.

The property was very nice and accommodating. The pool was really nice! The walk to the beach wasn't bad, just had to cross the street. The only complaint I have are the shower has hardly any pressure and the single light in bathroom emits a lot of heat. Other than that...great experience!

This slice of heaven showed no damage at all from the storms last year. The unit was clean, sound, cheerful, beautifully appointed. Outside the odd little landscape detail was still being repaired but this place deserves huge props and respect for recovery so quickly - like nothing had ever happened. Our unit was on the second floor which, as far as I know, was spared anyway. Extra towels and cozy blankets, awesome fully screened lanai with gorgeous garden and palm view, beautiful furniture, great lighting -no crass LED bulbs, just warm and lovely bulbs. The pool and the hot tub were in pristine condition, both heated beautifully. The beach was gorgeous and they provide oodles of loungers, chairs and umbrellas. Impeccably managed and maintained over all and the managers of this unit were fantastic. Responsive, gracious and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!! Can’t wait to go back. FLAWLESS experience.

Area and units were under construction therefore once done should be 5 stars. One suggestion. the knob lock on the front door needs a locksmith to change the cylinder. It is upside down and there is a possibility that the pins in the cylinder could jamb. Also, the lock box is old and hard to operate.

Very nice

We enjoyed our time on Longboat Key, and this property was ery comfortable. Just across the street from the private beach, it was nice that the beach chairs were right on the beach for our use. The screened-in porch was lovely. Also, it is the perfect location on the island. A distance from the high traffic area, yet within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

Cottage feel, great location

I read some reviews before our stay and some complained about water pressure or the unit itself. Water pressure is fine and typical of Florida. Maybe the shower head could be better. This is a cottage for two. I would not have anymore than that. It has only one bathroom and the sink is open the to bedroom. This is a cottage so dont expect Hilton accommodations or perfection. I am a carpenter so it did bother me that the walls were not finished properly with some bad patch jobs and a bad paint job. Some trim was not done properly and could use some caulk and shoe molding to cover gaps. Could use a new paint job especially on the white trim that had a lot of scuffs and scratches. The property grounds could use some much needed landscaping. Other than that, the stay was nice. I would stay in this area again but probably a different unit that was more updated. I recommend this for couples only.

Tidy but tired

Dealing with the property manager on site was quite easy. She was very responsive and gave clear directions. The unit itself was left well-cleaned, but it is in need of an updating. It looks like nothing has been redone (not the kitchen, not the flooring, not the bathroom, not the windows — which were hard to open) since the unit was built in the 1970s. There was a pretty strong smell of, I think, mildew. And the box spring cover on the bed was stained (perhaps from the damp). With a bit of an investment, the place would be terrific, as the complex is pleasant and quiet, the unit is nicely laid out, and the location is unbeatable.

Poor Water Pressure, Great Location

As a previous reviewer stated - the Water Pressure from the Shower Head is abysmal for someone with thick hair. I filled a pot from the kitchen with water from the bathtub faucet and used that to wash my hair one night. We advised the Management Team and they said they would address it. There is a light directly shining into the bathroom which then directly shines into the bedroom unless you close the door to the bathroom - a curtain would do the trick.The refrigerator made odd whirring noises as previously mentioned in reviews - we thought it was the ice maker which did not work...but we turned it off and that did not stop the noises.There is NO washer and dryer private to this unit - it is communal. We believe they have updated the description to note this (and it is not downstairs - there is a unit where someone lives downstairs). The BOOK for the unit did not indicate where the private beach access was, nor did it indicate where the Pickleball in the description could be found. We contacted the management company and they advised us. The checkout time differed between the Book and the online description. The parking pass was not in our unit as was discussed with the management company so we had to go get that the next day.The location was great with Bay Access and Gulf Access. The back patio was relaxing.We would NOT stay here again and we would NOT recommend it to others.

Basic Dwelling

Entrance door drags when opening and closing, AC filter was damaged, purchased a new filter. No extra set of keys provided, purchased a set of keys and left them after the stay. Refrigerator was very noisy when cycling. Furniture very unpleasant, smelt like a dog bed. Purchased fabric deodorizer to spray the furniture. Furniture really needs to be replaced or at the least professionally cleaned. On the day of arrival the general area appeared that the cleaning company had just finished, items pulled back from the wall where cleaning was performed and not returned back to a normal position. Kitchen, bathroom and vanity area acceptable.

Nice location

We really enjoyed the location for this condo; a quick walk to the back of the property brings you to a nice dock overlooking the bay where you will see lots of fish. A short walk across the street and through the parking lot takes you to the gorgeous beach. Plenty of beach chairs and room to spread out on the beach. The condo itself is a bit dated, but this was not bothersome. It was clean and the bed sheets were cotton, a huge plus and difficult to get anymore! The interior space provides what is needed, however it would be nice if there was a bit left in the kitchen to make it easier for travelers. We found a bit of black pepper in a shaker, and a few take-out packets of salt; there are no other spices or such in the kitchen (we are used to stays that have truly fully stocked kitchens, including spices and other things that make it easier for travelers to simply shop for groceries, and not things they will have to leave behind). We left behind a new thing of plastic wrap that I hope someone else gets to use after us. We smelled that "musty" smell that others have complained about, and it seemed the culprit was a very dirty filter for the air conditioning. Rebecca had that changed within a few minutes of me alerting to her to it, and that relived that odor significantly. A cooler would be a great addition to the condo, as we had to use plastic bags to carry our things to the beach and as soon as you walk away, the crows would show up and start tearing into them. Travelers that are flying in as we did would be limited on brining all they need and these little things are so sweet to have at the ready. There was a beach umbrella there that we made great use of and were so appreciative of. All in all, a good place to stay that would be great with minimal touches.

Relaxing

Our stay was very relaxing, property was clean and quiet. Perfect for our recharge from stressful jobs. Down-side, no small cooler or beach bags; we purchased and left for future guests (hopefully not thrown away). And the bed was too firm for our liking (could use upgraded). The beach having loungers, chairs, and side tables was amazing! It was not crowded during our stay which was a HUGE plus for us!

Nice Property and perfect location

Really was a nice stay. Perfect location and the condo was really nice. Pool was perfect too. Just have to cross the street to reach the beach and they have chairs available for use. My only comment would be the sofa bed isn’t the most comfortable so i wouldn’t plan on adults sleeping on it. Also there is a Publix about 3 miles away which makes it a really nice location (especially in spring break traffic. … absolutely highly recommended and would definitely stay again.

Convenient Beach Location.

Nice condo as pictured. My wife and I felt it needed some updates.

Exactly what we needed!

First time on Longboat Key. Loved that it’s a narrow key and not trampled with properties. Private beaches are a definite plus. We stayed at Beach Castle Resort on bay side of road, which is 5 minute walk to beach. Beach Castle has units on Gulf side as well and you use their private beach. Major pluses for us were the chairs, umbrellas and cooler that were available. Pool was nice to de-salinize. The unit was a bit dated, but pleasant. We spent most time on beach, walks and dining out. Laid back area vibe was what we needed to unwind. We will be back!!!!

The unit is in a resort that is ideally located on the bay and the beach. Very clean but a bit dated. Would recommend to anyone not looking for modern accommodations. An easy walk to a few very good restaurants. Keep in mind there are no elevators, so staying on the second floor requires climbing stairs.
