About this property
Very nice, newer cabin with 2 bedrooms.
This newer cabin is located near Hill City, South Dakota, and is at the center of everything the Black Hills has to offer!
Built on the original footprint of old Cabin 5, this cabin boasts great finishes such as tall vaulted ceilings throughout, reclaimed tin accents, quartz counter tops, and a closet that resembles a barn!
Whether sharing this cabin with kids, friends, or a snoring spouse, the two bedrooms on opposite ends of the building providing a little added privacy. On one end, the bedroom houses a new, comfortable king bed and a large closet made to resemble the side of a barn. The other bedroom is adjacent to the bathroom and is more cozy with a queen bed under a reclaimed metal ceiling. Linens are provided as well as nice comforters.
The one bathroom is sizeable with a 5 foot shower and a 4 foot vanity and more reclaimed metal on the ceiling. We provide towels, wash clothes, a floor mat, and hand towels. Upon request we will exchange used towels for fresh towels. Toilet paper and liquid hand soap are also provided but personal hygiene items such as shampoo and body wash are not. A hair dryer is available upon request.
The open concept kitchen includes a 24" refrigerator/freezer, over the range microwave, and an induction cook top. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, dishware, cups, and a coffee maker. Coffee, sugar, and creamer are provided. Dish soap, a dish scrubby, and a dish towel are provided as well as paper towels. The hickory cabinets support a large peninsula with a large nice single basin sink and also provide seating for four guests.
In the living room area guests will find a couch and chair for lounging after a long day of sight seeing. An elongated electric fireplace for additional heat or ambience sits below the wall-mounted television with Dishnetwork to provide additional entertainment.
Air conditioning is provided in the living room and ceiling fans will be throughout the cabin to help keep things comfortable during the summer. In the cooler months a combination of a heat pump, cove heaters, and the electric fire place keeps this tiny cabin nice and toasty.
Outside there is a picnic table, charcoal barbecue, fire pit, and refreshing views of the surrounding thick pine forest of the Black Hills. You will also see our free range chickens roaming the property. Both firewood and fresh eggs are available for purchase on site. Charcoal and lighter fluid that other guests have left may be available at no charge.
These eco-friendly cabins feature limited housekeeping and pets are not allowed.
Parking is limited so if you intend on bringing trailers or recreational vehicles, we encourage you to reach out to us to discuss parking options before you book.
Surrounded by public lands, Mitchell Lake is a short walk away and offers a great view, kayaking and fishing opportunities. Wild raspberries and wildflowers can often be found near by as well.
Our property is perfectly centrally located in the beautiful Black Hills.Needles Highway, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer State Park, and Rapid City are all within a short 30 minute drive of your front door. This cabin is only two miles from Hill City, which has a grocery store, hardware store, many great restaurants and shops. Walmart and Target are only a 25 minute drive into Rapid City.
Our 2.5 acre property consists of five cabins, and a six room motel. There is also a playground for the kids to release some energy.
