If you are looking for quaint, historical Boston, our three-bedroom apartment is a gem. Located in an historic 1860s townhouse in the heart of Boston, it has three bedrooms with two queen beds, one double bed, one twin, and 1.5 bathrooms.
Bay Village is the smallest and one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. It defines "location, location, location". Our neighborhood is just south of the Boston Public Garden, and adjacent to Back Bay, South End, Chinatown, and the Theater District. All of historical Boston is nearby by foot or public transportation and all amenities you could hope for are nearby. Our street has been described by the Boston Herald as "... out of a Sherlock Holmes story." Just walk into our quiet, residential neighborhood and you'll immediate know why we locals say, "its always nicer in Bay Village."
The apartment has many historic features like exposed wood beam ceilings, original fireplaces, open layout, and original plank flooring in the living room. and other unique details.
Being an old house, it was built before standardized building requirements. The stairs are very steep into the building - about 1-2 inches steeper than many are used to climbing. The stairs down to the lower levels are very narrow and the staircase to the lowest level has low head clearance.
Bring very comfortable walking shoes! Boston is a premier walking city! Where Bostonians can't walk, we will likely take the T (our Metro system), buses, or a ride share.
Parking is available at several parking garages, several within about a 5 minute walk

We really enjoyed our stay in Boston. We loved this townhouse, and its historic character. Perfect location for exploring all that Boston has to offer. It is also a perfect location to participate or spectate the Boston marathon. It's a short walk to Boston common to catch the bus to the start of the marathon, or to venture down Boylston street to watch the race.
Everything was wonderful. All of the check in instructions were clear and easy to follow. The location was perfect; it was within walking distance of downtown, great eating, public transportation, etc. The townhouse was beautiful, clean, safe, and more than enough room for a family of 5. The hosts were very responsive and welcoming. Great place to stay!!
Susan and Paul are amazing host!!!!! The property was amazing, location is close to all you could possible want to do. If you going to Boston to enjoy the history then you will love this home. It comes with it own history both Susan and Paul are very knowlegable about the house history. We enjoy the scrape book they gave us to look at. The kitchen is fully equipped and then some. Spacious rooms and bedrooms. Most of all it is not a house it is a home. Looking forward to our return trip. Thank you so much Susan and Paul for making our trip fantastic. If you are looking for a place in Boston stop looking you just found it.
This comfortable, well-preserved property filled our Boston travel void, with its wonderful location near the Theatre District, Boston Common, and Tufts. Offering clean rooms and a safe and quiet neighborhood setting. Only two negatives, both minor: the next-door neighbor had sewer construction equipment blocking the main entrance for the entire Saturday, and the kitchen's cutting knives are in dire need of replacement or sharpening. We all would definitely inquire about staying again, and I will even bring a bread knife.
Great location and set up. Great small details such as misc toiletries and plenty of towels for our family. Walking distance to many great places and close to trains for those things farther out.
Everything about this rental was spot on! Quiet location, very clean, well equipped with all the necessities and really great hosts. The layout was excellent for the family to get together and perfect number of rooms/beds to accommodate us all. Really nice place to celebrate our youngest's college graduation. Thank you

Thank you so much Karen! It was wonderful to host you, especially on this happy location! Our best ot you all!
We stayed here for home base while I was in town to run the Boston Marathon. The hosts Susan and Paul couldn't have been warmer and more accommodating. Their communication was 10/10. The house offered lots of space for myself, my wife, and two boys (10 & 7). They had games and toys to keep the little ones entertained. The basement had two beds that the kids enjoyed sharing even after offering the older one his own room. The stairs are quite steep in the unit. Totally manageable for most people, but may be difficult for anyone who struggles going up/down stairs in general. We had no issues -- except a little for me after the marathon :)The location is excellent, particularly for the marathon. We were out of the main chaos but close enough to walk just about anywhere. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it for anyone looking for a little extra space and doesn't need the most modern aesthetic. In fact, the unit was quite charming and felt very "Boston".

Thank you Mike and it was a joy to host your family as you ran and completed the Boston Marathon!
Property is in a great location for family trip to Boston. Great hosts! House would be challenging for elderly guests do to steep stairways, but good for us!
This historical location is perfect for your stay in Boston. You are within walking distance to Emerson College, which worked out perfectly for us. This is a three level apartment so keep in mind, but it wasn’t a problem for my parents that tend to have troubles with stairs. We met both our hosts, and they are wonderful. I would definitely recommend.
We had a really nice time staying at this property. Especially enjoyed the big open living room where we could all gather for meals or to watch TV.
The kitchen is well equipped, and the beds are comfortable.. Each of the two bedrooms on the lower floor was spacious and comfortable.
The flat is within walking distance of Chinatown and historical Boston. It’s a beautiful neighborhood with gas lamps.
One thing to consider is that this is a historic Boston building. Which means narrow stairs. We put the younger people in the basement bedroom, which had very narrow stairs without a railing. The basement bedroom also does not have a door on it.
Landlords were very pleasant and accommodating.
This was a perfect spot to get around to so many things we wanted to see. It was an easy walk and Close to the orange line. Also an easy Ride Share to other locations.
There were plenty of great food destinations within walking distance.
The host were very accommodating and super nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and would stay again!
The owner of the property is excellent and replies promptly. The apartment was very well located to walk to most sites in Boston. We found that the apartment was not very clean, dusty, dirty couches, dirty cutlery, etc. We would also recommend that 2 towels per person be available for showering. In the listing it states coin laundry but this is not in the apartment it is down the street, kind of misleading. Also the coffee maker broke on day 3.
We had a great time on our trip and this property was perfect for us! Paul is lovely, the neighborhood is convenient and the historic nature of the neighborhood and home add a lot of character to the experience. I’d stay here again.
A friend and I rented with our kids to explore Boston. Beautiful house, minutes from Boston Common and the Freedom Trail. The hosts were very efficient and very friendly. Met us on arrival and gave us tips and advice about the local area. So friendly - I intend to return !
