Thank you Mark for your honest review. We appreciate it. This winter we have replaced the bathroom heated towel rail and repainted it. We’re also in the process of replacing the kitchen fridge and bedside tables. These should be ready for your return visit this year. Over the coming winter we will be replacing the front bay window as well.

Thank you for the review; which is disappointing. The guest, making this review, was telephoned twice on arrival to check that everything was in order and that they were comfortable. As they were unable to answer the telephone, messages were left on the answerphone. The guest did not return my calls so we assumed there were no concerns. On the guests departure, the cleaner reported (with photographic evidence) that: There was a broken electrical socket in the bedroom The rubbish bins were overflowing and smelling, The bathroom was very dirty, There was a lot of dirty, greasy washing-up left in a dirty sink. This has resulted in additional cleaning costs, the calling and cost of an electrician to repair the socket and inconvenience to the next guest as the socket is unusable for a week. The property was indeed scheduled for refurbishment this spring but Covid prevented that taking place. Repeat guests who had booked for 2020 were happy to proceed with their bookings knowing that no refurbishment was taking place. We are hoping that it will take place at a later date. The damage deposit has proved necessary as, in 2018 we had to replace a 1 year old double mattress damaged by a guest and they are expensive. At the time our damage deposit was too low to be able to recover the full cost of a replacement. We offer a basic self-catering apartment at a realistic market rate. We respond rapidly to guest concerns ( my call log is evidence of this) but they do need to be reported to us to enable us to do so.
