The smell was terrible!! Pretty sure the carpet had a 2 pack a day habit since it was put in back in 1985.. wall paper peeling. Everything is outdated. But the smell literally gave me a headache. If it wasn't for my job putting me up there I would have left as soon as I walked in. VRBO should absolutely pull this listening. I have stayed in over a hundred places in the last few years with my job and I can honestly say the worst place I've ever stayed...by far.. DISGUSTING YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!!!

We followed up with the owner, who would like to address the following:- Smoking is strictly prohibited in the home, and we take that policy seriously.- We were not notified during your stay about any odor concerns, and we would have gladly arranged for immediate remediation had we been given the opportunity.- The home is regularly maintained, and we are already in the process of making updates, including replacing the carpeting with solid-surface flooring.- We remain committed to providing a clean and comfortable environment for all guests.We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and wish you the best in your future travels.

Smokey Mountain Respite

Very easy to search, decide, and book online. Condo was just as described. We visited family during day, and had the privacy we needed as a family at night. Grocery, gas, restaurants and church nearby. Loved it will stay again.

Out dated, poor air conditioning and cockroaches

I was surprised that VRBO had this as a listing. The property is outdated (the early 1990s) and smells like smoke. The air conditioning was loud, and if that was not bad enough, the property was infested with cockroaches.

Michael, we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy our stay. - We are utilizing a professional exterminator who has since addressed the pest issue, which is now under control. - We have no recollection of our home smelling of smoke and we've received no other complaints about it aside from this one, however, we will look into this issue. - The air conditioner is a standard hotel-type lower wall unit, as the condo used to be a country club villa. Granted, it is working fine, however, we are sorry that it caused a disturbance throughout your stay. - We don't advertise this unit as super modern and minimalistic; which is the current style, but it is comfortable and spacious! The previous owners put in a high-quality shag-style carpet, which does look old-fashioned, but feels soft and luxurious underfoot, and is in excellent shape! - The beds and the comfy reclining couch are all brand new, and the popcorn ceiling has been removed from the main living room and has since been newly painted. - My relatives moved to a city nearby this summer, so we now have a local family member that can immediately take care of any and all issues that might arise. Thanks for your valuable feedback as we continue to improve for future guests!

The Smell Alone Made Us Leave

To start, the entire place smelled like a stale cigarette. You walk into the front door and immediately you are hit with an ash tray. Secondly, the pictures online look nothing like the actual place. It looks like they have doctored up the pictures to make it look like a great condo, but in reality, the place is very dated, cabinets are broken and overall, not very clean. It did not look like the place had been cleaned prior to our check in. To sum this up, my family and myself did not end up staying here. We tried multiple times to get ahold of the owner but they live elsewhere and were not available. We ended up getting in contact with the Evolve team that they use, and they got us almost an entire refund because this place was not readily available to stay in.

Nice Long Weekend

The property was very accessible to the walking trail, museum and restaurants and provided a very comfortable stay. The one issue that caused us concern was very promptly and satisfactorily handled by the property manager.

We enjoyed our lodging, location, and availability to all the amenities in a short distance ! We had a little trouble from some young local men who lived in a unit and didnt like outsiders !( license plate ) We did secure ourselves a lot more !
