Modern house with sea views Stewart Island/Rakiura

Newly completed in June 2021, this stylish 3 bedroom architecturally designed home sits on a ridge with sea views in two directions.

There are two bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen and a heat pump to keep you warm.

Sit and watch the boats come and go or walk to one of the beautiful beaches only a short wander away. Kereru, Kaka, Kakariki and Tui are some of the many bird that visit the surrounding bush. The house is located in a quiet spot above Lonnekers Beach with Halfmoon Bay a pleasant 15 minute walk along the waterfront.

Free pick-up is available on request.

Wonderful location and great place to stay

We enjoyed staying here, not too far from town, with wonderful views. The house was clean and comfortable. We'd happily stay here again if we have the chance.

The house is new, super clean, beautifully appointed, functional and has amazing views. We greatly enjoyed staying in it and enjoyed relaxing in it during heavy rain and strong winds. Loved seeing and hearing different birds and watching the night sky. A bit far walk from the main town center (about 15-20 min) but was ok for us. Pretty steep gravel driveway so not good for people who cannot walk well. Always possible to hire a taxi for a ride…. I wish we could have stayed longer. Extensive communication with owner was top notch.

Beautiful property with large glass windows on 3 sides of the living room and situated up in a hilly area so you have a nice view of the surrounding area. You can see the halfmoon bay on one side and another body of water on the other side. The deep bay, Ringa Ringa beach, and Wholers monument are easy walks from the property. The driveway is very steep and they advised to rent a 4 wheel drive. The house was clean, with good temp control. The showers had good water pressure. The fully equiped kitchen was very useful as there were only a couple of restaurants open in the area when we visited. Will definitely try to book this place again if we go back to Stewart Island. Hopefully we'll see the southern lights and some kiwis nwxt time.

Lovely house and very well presented. Very clean and everything you could need. Owner needs to mention steep driveway which we had some trouble with, no tv or wifi on the website. Views were great. Kay

Great getaway

Easy 10-15 walk from the village. Well equipped, modern house with great views. Speedy communication when we realised very late in the piece that we’d forgotten to include one of our party in the booking. Would highly recommend.

40th anniversary holiday

Modern and bright with views over the water both ways. A 10-15 minute walk into Oban. Had everything you need. Highly recommend this place, especially for a longer visit. We had 9 nights on the island and it was a perfect base for us.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was beautifully presented and in a great location. The views were fabulous and only a 15 minute walk to town. Communication with the owners was top notch. 100% recommend.

Short break on Stewart Island

Perfect location, 1.5kms easy walk into Oban, great access to local track walks too. The property was perfect for four adults and two children. Lots of amenities and everything you need on site for a relaxing time away.

Delightful Stay!

Enjoyed our stay immensely. Communication with owner was fast and easy. Walks into town for dinner and groceries were no problem. I would stay at this lovely contemporary home again. It had everything we wanted and more!

Our Stewart Island trip

This property is a little walk from the village along a narrow road but it follows the shoreline so is very pleasant. The house is lovely, light, with plenty of windows to a lovely view of the bush and the harbour. Spacious living and two bathrooms, we loved it. The kitchen is well stocked and everything is still new and fresh. We did use Greg to pick us up from the airport and take us to the house, but before that we took Greg’s island tour which was fun. He had plenty of stories and recommendations and it was good to see the layout of the island early on in our stay.

Amazing Stewart Island spot

We loved our 3 nights in this beautiful, new, warm and spotlessly clean house. We had planned to go with friends but at the last minute Covid meant they were unable to travel … the house would have been plenty big enough for all of us and for just my husband and I we had plenty of space. Beautiful views across the bay, all day sun and fully equipped home with everything you need in kitchen, bathroom etc. Great comms with host and great transfer with Aurora Cabs. highly recommend.

Stunning views and Kereru haven

We have been waiting to visit Stewart Island for a while and this was an amazing house to stay at during the visit. Great layout and brand new. Nice open / airy space with good views of the Harbour. Kids are 9/10 and we did a lot of walking on the trip. They found the 15 min walk into town for dinner a bit tiring at end of day (fairly flat walk once you get to main road into town). The house has a great kitchen so you could easily cook there. We were on vacation and that meant limited cooking for us. We did rent a car the last day which was helpful. The bay where you catch the ferry to Ulva is about another 20 min walk from town so this just made it easier. Also gave us some flexibility to go spot kiwi in the football field at night Amazing island, amazing house. Would happily return.
