Walk into our cozy cottage located steps away from beautiful lake Wabamun!!

Our standout items:
- Large outdoor deck with lots of seating, table and gas BBQ
-Lake access with boathouse and dock
-Outdoor fire pit
-Wood burning fireplace inside
-Large king bed

Boats and canoe rentals are available locally.

Snowmobiling can be done on and around the frozen lake as well as ice fishing, hockey if you want to clear an area.

The treed space behind cabin (off season )is for walking, snow shoeing only, absolutely no motorized vehicles of any kind permitted. High season the space behind is a camping site with Bolers rented out separately.

There are cameras facing the driveway coming up to the cabin another facing the shed/parking area and a Ring camera at the entrance door.

There is a 2 minute walk to the lake by way of crossing road and train tracks just below cabin. Train passes regularly. There is a .04 Alberta tourism tax levy fee added on to the day rate fee.

Loved our stay at the cozy cottage. Hosts were very quick to respond to any questions. The dock on the lake and the paddle boards were a big hit. Really enjoyed sitting around the fire pit in the evening. Would definitely return!

Great place to stay

I love the gated deck! This was the second time we have stayed here! It is great to have access to the dock. My pup had the best time bouncing in the lake around the dock. We will be back again next year!

Nice, fully outfitted, clean cabin.Lake & dock is just a walk over the road and train track. There is no sand beach, but the lake is sandy and shallow, and there are a lot of water toys (paddle boards etc) in boathouse.

Wonderful location

My only complaint was the boat launch was difficult to get my canoe onto, but everything else provided at the boathouse and cottage were perfect.

Like visiting a friend's beloved family cabin

It's clear this is a well-loved and well-used retreat and we had a cozy, restful time. We appreciated the abundance of supplies and comforts inside the house as well as the comfy couches on the spacious deck. We knew there were train tracks nearby, so we were mostly prepared for some noise. Some trains were much louder than others, though, so something to note if one is a light sleeper. We were fine, and the king bed is very comfortable!

Comfort cabin

Very cozy. Lots of amenities and clean. Huge deck with a great view. Wonderful indoor fireplace and huge outdoor fire pit with a great supply of wood. We would come back again for sure.

Excellent spot!

Responsive communication, excellent amenities. It was practical and safe for our young kids (18 months & 3 years).They loved the large front porch which is gated and locked. They have all the extras ready for you; from tinfoil to Jenga. The lake was easily accessible. Highly recommend for any and all families looking for a quality lake getaway.

Cosy Lake Cottage

Just as the name says - a cosy cottage at the lake! We were pleasantly surprised to find that the host had decorated the cottage for Christmas - even had a Christmas tree! They also supplied ample fire wood to have the indoor fire place going all day and well into the evenings. Great experience. Thank you.

The property was great. I loved that it was out of town. We just were surprised that it was right on a busy CN line. Just periodic rumbling sound from the train passing. Other than that, super.

Memorable

Everything was exactly as I expected/hoped it to be. My kids (11yr girl, 13yr boy), husband and I had fun playing the lawn games, going to the doc, floating around the lake, swimming. It was relaxing sitting by the firepit when it was nice and by the wood fireplace when it was rainy. It's a short drive into town if you need anything. We rented a pontoon boat for half of a day. Great memories! Brenda was so easy to deal with for check in and booking confirmation. Would definitely go again.

Girls weekend

Had a great time celebrating my daughters bachelorette! We were a bit taken back when we first got there not realizing there were campers also rented out close to the cabin on the property. It turned out to be a non issue as it is set up so well we hardly noticed each other. The cabin is incredibly set up with everything you can imagine. It was super clean and location excellent. Many memories made over the weekend. Can see myself coming back and renting cabins and campers for a nice little reunion. Highly recommend!!

Best cabin to date!

I highly recommend spending your vacay here. It was quiet, peaceful, and so cozy. My best friend and I came up for her birthday and it was amazing. We felt the love and care in the home. Just good vibes and energy all around. The house is FULLY stocked. Like actually, there's everything in there. As if you're going to moms house. You aren't allowed to smoke in or on the patio, but I totally understand why. The owners have maintained a beautiful home, and out of respect we went in my car. The weather was nice so it wasn't a problem. I would love to come again. Thank you so much.

Beautiful cabin with a short walk to your dock.

The cabin was such a nice little vacation. Our favorite parts I would say were the huge deck and private boat house with dock outside of it(dock is shared boat house is not). There is a campsite behind the cabin that was closer than we anticipated but the fire/hang out areas were on opposite sides of the property so we barely noticed. The only thing not making it 5 stars is the shower, which has been having issues and being worked on/thought it was fixed. There was no hot water or pressure and than no water at all in the shower (hot water everywhere else), so once this is corrected definitely 5 stars. The hosts were awesome and answered any questions, we would definitely come back. Thank you.

You will be happy to know that the shower is fixed and working with lots of pressure and all options, rain shower, hand held and jets off the wall pouring out. It was a valve inside the stem that had corroded and needed replacing. Hope to see you again in the future!

Renter beware, you are on camera!

We were under surveillance during our stay. Their ad does not tell you that there are cameras. I was accused by the spying renter of having guests when I didn’t, due to neibouring people invading our privacy and space. The house rattles from the constant trains passing by, if you get motion sick, don’t stay here! The furniture is way past its prime, even for a cottage. If you have mobility issues you won’t be able to get up from the couch. The ONLY good thing about this place is that it was clean.

It should not be a surprise that as owners we want to have cameras for our protection of our property, and to ensure that at check in renters have been honest with how many guests will be staying as well as any pets. You did not disclose that you were bringing a dog which is why cameras are at the entrance to ensure renters are being honest nothing more. Unfortunately you did not disclose your dog was coming, otherwise there would have been no issue, despite that I did not charge you for bringing your dog because of the unfortunate mix up with the renters from the campsite coming into your space at the start of your trip. You have pictures to view what the furniture looks like at the time of booking there were no surprises. Also it is stated in the description that the train passes often.

Our cabin mouse experience

We arrived to a very cozy looking Cabin got all moved in and then discovered mice, mouse droppings and mouse bait traps we had a baby with us crawling around and weren’t aware of any of these hazards until we saw the first mouse. Then after investigation we decided we could not stay with a baby under these conditions. So we packed up and left. I contacted the owners the next day and they were very responsive and even offered us an extra nights stay but we just knew we wouldn’t enjoy the rest of our vacation there and found other accommodations.

Thank you David for your feedback, I immediately went to the cabin to take care of the situation, we had recently made a hole in the fireplace Mantel as we had added tile around the fireplace, to allow for ventilation and because of your feedback we were able to determine that spot as a possible entry into the cabin. So we have fastened a hard wire screen over the ventilation hole and believe this will prevent any further entry in. We are located in the country so we try to ensure possible entry points in are sealed off.

Book with confidence, this is THE Property you are looking for!

I cannot begin to express my gratitude to Brenda for making my Fiancee and her Father's Birthdays nothing short PERFECT. The property was beautiful and well maintained. Clearly the Owners take great pride in their possession. On hand, quick responses from the property owners to all of our inquiries! Ample parking and private, what an absolute treat on pulling up to the property. On entering the home, we were stunned. From the decor, to that cozy, weekend getaway feeling that hits you when you just know youv've booked the right spot! Everything was as described in the initial ad, and much, MUCH more. From the lovely welcome basket, to the odds, ends, games, spices and extras you'd never expect to see or come across. Honestly, just too much to list, and must be experienced yourself! The attention to detail and what could be used or come in handy is all there, just to save you that extra trip into town in case you may have forgotten something small. We are very much looking forward to booking for next summer, and are excited to turn this perfect property into an annual weekend getaway for the family. Brenda, THANK YOU again so very much!

Overall nice stay, but noisier than anticipated

Overall, the stay was quite nice. The view of the lake was nice from the balcony, there was a welcome basket with snacks (though some were past their expiry date), the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was a bit musty after showers because there was no fan. But the added touches like water floaties, kitchen ingredients, board games, gas BBQ and tools, and cooler with filtered water to drink were very nice. A few things that we wish we had known beforehand: 1) how frequently the train goes by and just how close it really is! We arrived around 5:30 on a Monday and there were about 7 or 8 trains between then and midnight, and at least a dozen on each day we were there. 2) just how close the other rental area on the property is: with the bedroom window open a crack, we could hear everything clearly in the tented hangout area. And when the other visitors left their dogs and went sightseeing, we had to listen to them barking for hours. And because neighbouring houses are fairly close, other dogs could be heard joining in. 3) just FYI, the furniture in the living room is very low to the ground and quite hard. My partner is tall, and it was an issue for him. Keep that in mind if you are also tall. 4) we had to strip the bed ourselves.
