New years at the light house in West Jefferson

The unit smelled mildewy. We paid a housekeeping fee, but had a long list of chores to do before we left. The upstairs commode handle would stick, leaving it running. Would have liked some tips on where to set the heater, we spent the first night going up and down the stairs several times during the night to try to get it comfortable upstairs ... not good !! The ceiling fan/light upstairs where you had two settings: on fan at one setting/light or off, no light, no fan.

Easy and cute stay! House is unique and adorable. Bed was comfy - no AC upstairs wasn’t super fun but our trip was cool for the most part (it stormed and the box fan giving us air we had some mist on us too lol the wind and storm was so strong lol)There were a lot of bugs/spiders we had to kill. Stairs are steep! We brought a baby gate for our dog and toddler that kinda fit at the top of the stairs to keep them up there with us. Great option for 2 people looking for a quick get a way in the mountains. Well stocked, good for the price, super cute! We saw deer night one right next to the house :)

It is as it’s posted - cute little place for a couples get away. We brought a baby gate for top of the stairs to get our dog and toddler up there with no fear of them falling down the steep stairs. There was no AC so there a box fan and a window upstairs we opened and blew air in at night. It was very cute and well stocked, we did find some bugs and killed those, but generally very clean. We enjoyed our stay and it was pretty much as expected! The company renting this out sent some confusing emails that said my payment was due Jan 01 1971, but otherwise it was easy and fine. Lol

Great house, great location.

Very cool house, in a great neighborhood, 10 minute walk to the river. It was perfect for 2 people and a dog. Only negative is that there is no AC. A small window unit could cool the whole house. Other than that no complaints.

We had some fun times at this Octagon home. The listing was described accurately. Home was clean and had all the items needed for our stay. Some of the amenities that we used were the gas grill, gas oven, and the Keurig. We also used the iron and ironing board. Worked perfectly. Thanks for a lovely long weekend. Note that there was not a hair dryer so, if you need one, bring one.

Great Location, but needs some upkeep.

For starters, I am not sure who is at fault for the cons between the owners and the Evolve managers. Overall I had a great vacation and a lovely time at the home. It was a great place for two people. Had the cons not been a factor I would definitely stay again! The cons are not meant to be rude, but just some critiques. Pros: -Great communication anytime I had a question -Loved the concept of the house -Great Location -Affordable -Gas appliances -Easy check-in/check-out instructions -Fire pit with picnic table Cons: -Was given inaccurate check-in instructions so had to call the contact number at 11 PM for the correct door code. -Dirty (Upon arrival we found a lot of dead bugs on the kitchen floor, I killed multiple spiders in the kitchen sink and window area. There were also spiderwebs in the corners of the shower and bedroom, and there was dog hair/dirt on the bedspread and sheets before our dog was even upstairs. -No A/C (a big deal in the summer because the ceiling fan does not help cool down the house.) A spare box fan was upstairs for us to use, but still did not do much, and cooking with a gas oven made it even hotter. -The yard was overgrown and made walking the dog around the property at night and early morning very difficult, in addition, the dog kennel on the property looked unsanitary. -Had no hot water the first night, wasn't aware the water heater had been turned off and had to locate it. -The fire pit was not very useful due to the overgrown weeds.
