Perfect for seeing surrounding areas.

My husband and I stayed here for a short visit as he is working nearby. The property was perfect. Quiet and out of the way but close enough to town that it was convenient. Also within an hour of multiple larger cities with much to do. Very helpful and friendly hosts.

We loved the peaceful home near the pond. We took time to take a leisurely walk along the pond and it was simply beautiful. The home was clean and comfortable with all the conviences of home. We met the owners who live in the other home on the property, they were so nice and let us know if we needed anything to just let them know. I highly recommend this home and we will visit again.

The Perfect Hideaway

This lovely cabin in the woods was such a blessing to my husband and I. We attended a weekend wedding at a nearby venue and had the pleasure of staying here when we were not with family. The property was well-appointed and very clean. It had everything we needed to make us feel at home away from home. Highly recommend this perfect hideaway that is close to town, but feels like you are a million miles away!

Wonderful spot for long stay

I stayed for several weeks and thoroughly enjoyed my time in Walterboro. The house is off the main street of town, so you can drive anywhere in a matter of minutes. It is also on a very private property and feels like its own little oasis. The lake is lovely at any time of day. The house is very well appointed, with lots of closet space, a sparkling bathroom and a great kitchen. There is strong wifi for WFH and streaming shows. The hosts could not have been more accomodating. I will definitely be back.

Property search

Was centrally located for our property search for a retirement home away from New England winters. Large soaking tub was great for my knees and previous t-cell treatments. My wife enjoyed the lake and a family of geese. If your not used to sleeping on IKEA furniture and bedding you might want to bring an inflatable mattress.

Nature get away

Beautiful property with great wild life! Singing birds and croaking frogs. Brought our own fishing poles and did some catch and release. Enjoyed the porch and swing.. Great location Comfy bed Would go back next time our family gets together!

Gateway to Charleston and Savannah

A clean well maintained property. Our dogs love going for walks around the pond and surrounding areas. We used this as a base to visit Charleston (90 minutes away) and Savannah (80 minutes away) while traveling with our pets.

Great location/quiet

Place was easy to find. Interior was newly done and very nice. We had a really bad influx of tent catapillars in the area...they were all over the house/door, falling from trees onto our heads...not pleasant - but I realize this was out of the control of the property owner. The King bed did not have a mattress cover (which it should) and the sheets were not big enough for the mattress. The minute you rolled over, the edge of the fitted sheet would come off and snap into my face....We only stayed a couple of days, so we didn't complain to the contact. There was no dishwasher detergent to do the dishes before we left, and the recycle can was apparently the trash can, but we didn't know that so we took our trash with us. There is another home and camper on this property not far from this house. It really should say that on the listing. There was a large shipping container next to that house which was really ugly, on such a nice piece of property. We tried fishing but didn't get any bites. There was only one chair on the front porch, which is silly for couples who may want to sit together in the evenings. The cameras are creepy....I can understand having cameras on when the house is vacant, but if the property is rented, they should shut them off. There was no privacy outside and since the front porch was where we sat and talked, we just felt that someone was listening through the ring door bell. Just creepy.... The contact was easy to reach by text and very nice.

Great stay

This is a great home! I spent a month here with my 2 dogs and we loved it. The property is beautiful and the home was stocked with everything I needed for a long stay. And Rachel was great! Easy to get a hold of and quick to respond. Would definitely stay here again!

Loved the peace, problem with pets

We loved our stay at the property. There is a small lake/large pond with lots of water fowl we enjoyed watching. The home was clean and we enjoyed the peace the location offered. The only problem we had was with our cats. We saw no way to put in we were bringing cats when we reserved. Apparently someone came into the residence when we were out and saw them. We received a complaint that we had not paid the pet fee, that we had not seen any way to pay. This is probably just an administrative glitch they will no doubt work out. Highly recommend house and location!

My husband and I came to town on Business. I found this cute cottage online. It is so peaceful. I slept all night each night we were there. That's a rare occurrence for me! We plan to come again soon and stay longer. This is a great place for rest and relaxation, activities with family or friends, and touring this cute town. It is also a short distance to the Beach. Basically, whatever your needs are, it can accommodate! You can't go wrong staying here. Thank you to the owner and Mr Clark for helping us when our car battery went out the day we were checking out. Perfect Home away from Home

What a great place to stay. My wife and I enjoyed every moment we were here. It was full of wildlife and very peaceful. The house was very clean with everything you’ll need for your stay. Rachel is the perfect host. We give this place a definite 10 of 10.

Good Stay

Our stay was an unplanned two day stop for my wife and I on the way back home to Florida. The house was spacious, clean, and newly updated with everything you would expect for a comfortable stay. The lakeside location was very private yet close to I-95, local restaurants and shopping in Walterboro. The king bed slept great after several weeks on the road. Communication with the host was excellent. We would stay here again!

A remote location one mile from everything.

When you turn onto Avant road it feels like you have traveled to a remote location with a large pond and completely surrounded by forest. But really you are a mile from a grocery! (If that!) The small home feels very large due to its generous room sizes. I really enjoyed the styling and the quality of materials and furnishings that make up this home. I hated having to leave! This makes for a nice couples retreat. I traveled to Edisto, Charleston, and Beaufort during my stay. But I also enjoyed just being at the house. I hope to return.

This place is a Home away from Home. We loved staying here, we felt comfortable, relaxed and safe. We are so amazed with the layout and design of this home, it's so simple from the outside, but the inside is elegant. You guys really thought of every detail and what a person needs during their stay. My husband, our dog and I are very happy that we found your home. And another thing, we had some visitors check in on us... 7 deer, 1 owl, 1 beaver, 2 bunnies butterflies, dragonflies and 2 cats.

Lovely home, picturesque setting, immaculate interior!

Very relaxing stay at lakeside home. Communications with host were quick and easy and she is very welcoming! Setting is quiet and private, though restaurants and cute shops are only a quick drive away. For those seeking respite from the hubbub of city life, this lakeside getaway is the place to enjoy nature, wildlife and beautiful scenery. Home had everything we needed and more - comfy bed, crisp white bed linens and towels, and absolutely pristine throughout! Thank you to our host for her thoughtfulness in fulfilling her guests' every wish to enjoy a really nice getaway!
