Stayed at Snowshoe while we fished for silvers in the little susitna river for three days. Outstanding accommodation with very personable and friendly hosts!

wonderful hosts. everything you needed was in the cabin
The cabin was EPIC. We cooked outside and really enjoyed all the features the cabin provided. The distance was a little far, but all in all we really enjoyed our time.
We live in a similar cozy house in the woods, and we felt right at home in the Snowshoe Cabin! Everything we needed was there. The seclusion was wonderful. I couldn’t imagine staying in a hotel when this option is available. A bit out of town, but absolutely worth the drive to get out of the din and garish lights of town!

Wonderful, quiet, cozy cabin
The cabin was wonderful and host was as well. Rustic quiet cabin in the woods was great for relaxing after day of sightseeing. Clay was so nice and flexible and left us moose smoked sausage in the freezer to try, it was wonderful. He gave us great suggestions for places to visit and eat. They were all very good. The cabin was centrally located to the sights we wanted to see except Denali which was a little further but well worth the drive.

Perfect!
We stayed here for our daughter’s graduation/18th birthday gift. It was ideal as a cozy base from which to go to Hatcher Pass (fresh snow!), Denali, Talkeetna, up the Seward Highway to Portage Glacier, over to the Matanuska Glacier, and so many other points of interest. Clay was responsive and made helpful suggestions for what to do and where to eat. We would GLADLY come back!

Awesome Place
The amenities were great. It was so quiet. Having a washer and drying was wonderful. Clay and his wife were friendly and very responsive to any questions we had. They had a well-organized list of restaurants and places to visit. The kitchen and bathroom had everything you needed. (At least 5-6 shampoos and hair products.) The WiFI worked very well. The only issue we had was finding the place! There is no road sign. So when your GPS gets close go under the powerlines and immediately turn RT after the 35 miles an hour sign. Don't let the construction materials next door bother you as they are working on creating another beautiful place.
Enjoyed our stay in this lovely cabin in the woods, it feels very private. Lots of wildlife, we heard the wolves most evenings and we spotted moose footprints around the cabin. The cabin is out on the peninsula West of Wasilla, so a 2 hours or so each way drive to the big attractions - Talkeenta, Whittier and the Mantanuska glacier.
We loved everything about the cute, cozy cabin! Beds were comfy, kitchen was stocked well to make it easy to cook in, scriptures throughout encouraged our day, and it was so peaceful. Would highly recommend it!
Very rural, very private, quaint house in the woods
The main bedroom downstairs has a Queen bed but this room also contains the water heater and the washer/dryer in a modified closet with no door. This is convenient, but if you're a very light sleeper, the pinging noises that all water heaters make when heating up might be an issue. The water is supplied from a well and has a slight mineral water smell and moderately strong taste. The owner furnished bottled water, which was a nice touch. Unlike many well systems, this one has fantastic water pressure. An adjacent house to the north (100 yards away) is unoccupied and under renovation, so looks rather sloppy, but the area around the rental is very nicely attended. The driveway to the property (a shared one for 3 houses) is unmarked. To find it, turn right (north) on the first driveway you see after crossing east to west under massive power lines that cross the nicely maintained gravel road . Heat is supplied from a single source, but with strategic use of ceiling fans and a supplied floor fan, you can get the house quite uniform in temperature, easily. Bathroom is clean and plenty of towels were provided. Free WiFi is provided. Veriizon cellular signal is strong. If you like private, remote, and clean -- with all the usual modern amenitied -- this is your house.
What a GREAT cabin !!! I couldn’t have been more happy to have found a great cabin very centrally located!! It was an amazing place to stay!

Sweet cabin very well equipped but….
When I booked the cabin I did not realize the landscape pictures were in the winter time with snow covered landscape. The truth is the spring time landscape is a different picture! There is ongoing construction around the cabin which detracts from what is an incredible cabin which was well equipped with amenities we didn’t expect. Once the construction is completed it will be a 5 star place. It’s ideally located for exploration of both the northern side and the southern side of Anchorage….. and we had several encounters with the residential moose in the area. The owner is exceptional…. Great communication and a pleasure to deal with. Would I stay here again? Absolutely yes….
