We had an excellent stay. The only downside is that our stay was too short. The location was great. It was not too far to a quaint town with restaurants and shops. The view out the back of the house with the horses was gorgeous. The host, Sandy, was phenomenal. He was a pleasure to chat with and answered all of our questions. We will definitely return.

Peaceful Stay

You can tell the owners really care for this property. True craftsmanship and quality materials were used to build this lovely little cabin. We just checked out yesterday and I already miss that awesome shower! Roxanne met us at the cabin on check in and gave some wonderful suggestions for things to do in the area, along with a welcome gift. All we wanted was a quiet weekend away from home and that’s exactly what we got. Would absolutely recommend this cabin to anyone staying in the area.

I drove down from Ohio to visit family for the holidays. After a LONG drive, I was glad I booked The Farmhouse on the Hill. This place is small but makes up with it's grand Charm!Clean and Beautifully furnished, this house give a modern cabin vibe that I'm sure everyone woul enjoy.The scenery and atmosphere is amazing. Early mornings watching the sunrise while drinking coffee (or tea) is something magical for sure.The owners are nothing but kind. They really reinforce the Southern Charm and Hospitality to a gold standard. Sandy and Roxanne, thank you for the wonderful stay in your home.

Recently stayed at this fabulous home in Lawndale. It was spotless, decorated beautiful and adorable. My sister and I had a wonderful time and intend to return hopefully in the future. I am telling others about this gem but not too many.. LOL We don't want it to be rented all the time so we can come again. Owners were very attentive and nice. Overall was one of the best rentals I have ever made. Thank you Roxanne and Sandy!

Perfection!

The Farmhouse on the Hill is a charming hidden secret in the lovely foothills of NC. It was very relaxing and serene. The kitchen view captured cows grazing on a distant hillside and while sitting on the front porch, two horses strolled by in the pasture directly across the road. The Farmhouse is lovingly decorated and maintained. It is very comfortable and clean. The perfect spot to relax. Everything that I needed to enjoy my stay was provided (and was unexpected). These little extras made my trip even more enjoyable. The gas fireplace was my favorite and most used amenity since it was unseasonably chilly and rainy. It was very easy to operate. There is nothing more welcoming than a fire. The shower was an amazing treat. Very decadent. The hosts are a lovely and sweet couple. They knew I was a little uneasy traveling alone (I lost my husband two months ago), and they assured me that they were close by. I felt safe and welcome and I'm grateful that they checked on me. I felt that I was home. I was sad when I left this precious farmhouse this morning because I could've stayed there forever. Thank you so much for everything Sandy & Roxanne. I can't wait to visit again soon!

Country stay

The stay was perfect. I had a very late arrival and the owners were very accommodating of my schedule. Lights were left on and the thermostat was adjusted to a moderate temperature. I was attending a relative's wedding in Shelby and this location was a perfect distance. It was great being out in the country and waking up to horses and cattle in the pasture and wide open views. Sitting on the porch enjoying morning coffee with the birds singing was heavenly. Everything needed for an out of town guest was provided and available in the cabin. It was very homey and so much better than a noisy hotel room. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a home away from home for a few days.
