About Rick Gattone
I moved to this area from Atlanta in 1995. I had been coming here to play (caving, hang gliding, mountain biking, rock climbing) since the early 80's and couldn't stand the two hour drive from Atlanta every weekend. Shortly after I moved here, I accidently started Liquid Landscapes Aquatic Design and began building waterfalls and ponds for a living. I also started playing guitar and later, mandolin and get to play with some fine musicians in the area. Bring your instruments or ask for loaners whiles you're here...
Rick Gattone purchased this House in 2000
Why Rick Gattone chose Trenton

It was great!
We had lots of fun and really enjoyed the hot tub. The only ‘issues’ we had were very small and didn’t hinder our trip in any way. The pictures don’t show that there is another cottage way closer than was expected. We had an issue with the tenants of the other cottage but Rick was very accomadating when we told him our issue and ensured our privacy for the rest of the trip. The fridge and freezer weren’t cleaned out very well (half eaten ice cream and various condiments were left) but everything was very clean and it was an amazing location. Only 30 minutes from countless things to do in Chattanooga. The bed was very comfortable and the natural lighting throughout was perfect for getting up in the morning. We loved that there was no tv and spotty internet because it allowed for a much more peaceful trip. We would definitely recommend this!
Will forever be remembered!
19th Anniversay one night getaway. Very unique and out of the box experience. Nothing like anything we have ever stayed in. So unique and cozy! Rick, the owner, was so nice and hospitable and goes to every effort to make your stay special. This place is a must if you want a nice, peaceful, romantic stay away from everything. It is not far from Chattanooga if you need some things to do but it was so nice just spending quality time with my husband. I wish we could have stayed longer!!
Nice little getaway
This house was spectacular. We were only there for one night but we enjoyed our time. The house was unique, and bigger than the pictures seem to show. There was a lot of natural light and we had a good time sitting around the firepit outside at night.
The owners were responsive to our questions ahead of check-in, and were very accommodating.
It IS a getaway, though. There is no TV in the house, and the internet was spotty.
The only complaint we had was the large metal decoration on the barn-door-style bathroom door. It was very loud, which was only an issue at night.
Overall, we had a great time getting away from the city life and into the mountains, where the view was amazing, and just a short drive to Rock City and Chattanooga. Thank you so much for opening up your unique home to us!!
This is the place to go if you just want to unplug and relax. My husband and I came for our 7th anniversary (ended up with a kiddo along that wasn't part of the plan) and had a great time. The state park is beautiful. Rick is a great host and the house is truly unique. The hot tub was amazing under the stars. We would definitely return again.
UNIQUE, fantastic host, beautiful view of Lookout mtn...
Ole Rick put together a UNIQUE "cave", with the comfort of a Hilton room...quiet, beautiful and UNIQUE!
I'm glad you two enjoyed the place!
Exceptional in every way!
