Mt St Helens hikes
Nice cabin, great location for Mt St Helens hikes. Water pressure comes and goes at cabin which wasn't good but other than that we had a great stay.

Hi Daniel, we're pleased to hear you enjoyed the location for hiking. We're currently addressing a recurring issue with the well pump—while it was recently serviced and seemed to be resolved, we’ll have a technician return to ensure everything is functioning as it should. Thank you for your valuable feedback.

Nice cabin for a small group
Stay was good. Cabin was cute and clean. Not everything worked but was great for a short stay. Neighbors played their music pretty loud so if you are looking for a quiet getaway might not be for you, but for a few friends having fun it is perfect.

Cute and cozy
Pet friendly home. Kitchen fully equipped. Easy access from county road. Many trails close by. Ability to see Mount St Helen’s when weather is clear. Some roads still closed so we weren’t able to get real close. Very enjoyable area!

We had the absolute best little family weekend here! The cabin was cozy, clean and had everything we needed for a successful stay. Beautiful, peaceful and quiet! The only neighbor that appeared home was the house being renovated on the drive in (friendly, no issues!) We enjoyed saying hi to the horses on neighboring property. Anne was super quick to respond to questions regarding the fire ban and again when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the bathroom. We so appreciated the extra headlamps for exploring Ape Cave. Our 3 year-old had a blast and made some core memories this stay... first ever campfire and s'mores, caves, lava tube and lots of new hikes at Mt St. Helens. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We hope to make this a tradition and return soon!

Perfect dog friendly Cabin for family
We were in town for a wedding and this cabin was great for my husband, adult son, teen son, 2 labs and Me! Trail up hill in back is a thigh burner but a great start to the morning. Dogs were happy roaming the fenced property. Cabin has everything you need although internet is spotty at times. C stores in Cougar have are stocked if you forgot something, only 1.5 mile away. Resort restaurant (Log Fir?) has EXCELLENT food. Burgers were delicious, chili cheese fries amazing and my husband had stew, which he loved. Highly recommend this vrbo if looking for a place to stay in the area.

Quaint Weekend in Cougar!
The stay was just right for us, our baby, small dog, and my mother. We explored the area in between nap time and even had a nice fire outside when baby went to bed!As expected, the neighbors were more noticeable than one would want. For example, when we pulled up there was about three dogs that came in and my husband had to get them all out to shut the gate. The neighbor came over and apologized and said he wouldn’t have had the dogs out if he knew people were staying. Our small dog is afraid of dogs so we didn’t like that they just came in and quickly came to sniff our dog. Not ideal, it bothered us as it was the first thing that happened when we got there…but then it was completely fine! there is a really great privacy fence that helps.

Unfortunately, although we work hard to provide a great environment for all guests, external factors like the neighbors are simply out of our control. We have never experienced issues like this either before your stay or since, and look forward to hosting many satisfied guests!

Great, could be a little cleaner
Very quiet and comfortable. Nice view of trees on the hillside out the back. Great kitchen and living room. The only reason I'm leaving four stars is that it could've been cleaner. The toilet had someone's hairs between the lid and tank. The floor had little pebbles, etc. The waste bin had something spilled on it. It wasn't gross, but it wasn't fully cleaned either. Otherwise, a pretty little place with a great location if you're going into that side of Mt St Helens, Ape Caves, etc.

From the owner: ''Sorry, it was as clean as it should have been! Thank you for letting us know. That is something we want to make sure is perfect! The pebbles part is annoying, we are really rethinking the pea gravel! Sometimes I think we track them back in while double-checking the rest.''

Lovely cabin with problematic neighbors
The cabin was lovely. It was comfortable and cosy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. We really appreciated the snacks and the nostalgic DVDs. I can see how a family would make very happy memories staying in this cabin.Unfortunately the neighbors were less than friendly. We had an incident where the neighbors were outside around our car with their guns on the night we arrived. The owner was very responsive and proactive but it left us feeling quite unsafe for the weekend. The neighbors played loud music outside and were shouting and banging during the night while we were trying to sleep. The confederate flag hanging from their window may make some feel unwelcome. It’s disappointing as otherwise we would have really enjoyed our weekend.

Hi Philip, we’re so glad you enjoyed the cabin itself and appreciated the cozy atmosphere, snacks, and nostalgic DVDs. However, we’re truly sorry to hear that the neighboring renters made you feel uncomfortable during your stay. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- Guest safety and comfort are a top priority, which is why we responded as quickly as possible when you reached out. We regret that this impacted your stay.
- To enhance security, we’ve installed cameras for added guest peace of mind.
- We’re committed to fostering a welcoming environment and will continue working to ensure all guests feel secure.
Your comfort and peace of mind are a top priority, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Thanks again for your feedback!

Cozy Cabin
This place is cute! It has been updated and the interior is nice. When we arrived, it was clean and the heater had been turned on. There were more than enough kitchen tools to make our Thanksgiving feast! We enjoyed all the DVDs and the Wii. The couches are comfy. There is a large dining table that left room for puzzling on half while still having dinner space. It's a great place to disconnect and relax.I would say to dress for the weather in the late fall. Even with the heaters on it was a touch chilly. But there are plenty of blankets to bundle up in. We were sad that it wasn't a tad warmer to enjoy the porch and backyard fire pit. Our group did the hike up the hill behind the house and enjoyed the scenery. There is a sweet, friendly horse next door that said "Hi".
