LOCATION - THE NORTH ISLAND'S OUTDOORS MECCA
Located in the heart of the Ruapehu District - outdoors capital of the North Island! - the UNESCO World Heritage Tongariro National Park's conservation areas start just 5-mins walk away at the end of the road, which is also a popular local world-class Fly-Fishing location.
Many of NZ's top walking hikes and top cycle trails are just 1-30mins away, including the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, the Timber Trail, Old Coach Rd, and 42 Traverse (which ends at our doorstep), plus NZ's two largest ski-fields Whakapapa & Turoa on Mt Ruapehu ... along with many other regional attractions including the Forgotten Highway, Bridge to Nowhere and mighty Whanganui River.


BEDROOM CONFIGURATIONS:
The basic nightly rate includes up to 10 guests staying in five bedrooms as:
> Four Queen/Double Bedrooms
> Plus 2 x Guests in Single Beds in the interconnecting Dorm Room

However this fabulous holiday home can accommodate up to 18 guests, with the additional guest bedding options as:
> Two guests in a fifth Double bedroom
> Up to 3 x Guests in the 7th 'Triple' Bedroom (double-single Bunk Bed)
> Another 2 x Guests in the Dorm Room (single beds)
> 1 x Guest sleeping on the Lounge 3-seater Couch (NB it is not a sofa-bed)

Comfortably Stylish

For a group of "young" seniors it was perfect. Comfy beds, well fitted out kitchen and no TV.........great. Various walks in the area depending on how energetic one felt at the time. A really good place to relax

This property is absolutely amazing inside. The attention to detail with the restoration and decor is fantastic. It is spotless and has everything you need - with the added bonus of a spa, sauna, and firepit. The only downside is that it's on a main road and when the trucks go past, the house literally shakes. It's a shame that the speed limit is 70 instead of down to 50kms/h. The hosts are great and responsive. My teenagers loved the quirkiness. There is a lot to do in the area and just behind Owhango - the Ohinetonga Scenic Reserve is gorgeous with a safe swimming spot on the river.

Awesome experience

Our stay was amazing, although the road noise in the two front rooms where annoying I guess it's only until the road is opened again on state highway 1. The venue was lovely and we all enjoyed the 1920s theme, we even dressed in period clothing for dinner on the sat night. The house was well set up with everything we needed, and close to visiting the mountain. I would recommend this venue, especially for large groups.
