La casa del Amanecer (Home of Dawn) welcomes its guests in a pleasant and peaceful atmosphere close to Granada city. Located up in a hill amidst a natural and sunny environment, the house presents remarkable panoramic views of the hills, with the Sierra Nevada as backdrop. The views of the sunrise here are a daily stunning surprise! A privileged place where to stay in Andalusia, the house provides all the comforts of a quality holiday villa right in the heart of Andalusian culture. Located on the Route of the Caliphate, between Granada and Cordoba, our guests are able to discover the authentic Andalusia and its great cultural and historical wealth. Easily accessible due to its excellent location, the house also allows visiting a fair part of Andalusia in the best conditions.
Just 30 minutes away from the beautiful city of Granada, Casa del Amanecer accommodates up to 6 persons . At only 3 minutes drive down the hill, there’s a small village which includes a grocery store and 2 bars...
Rebuilt a few years ago upon the remnants of an old Cortijo, the house develops a special bond with the surrounding nature. Thanks to the panoramic views, the immediacy of trees and plants, the easy access to the terraces and pool, and the large bright interiors, the house offers a relaxing and natural atmosphere, balancing the cool interiors with the beauty of the outdoor spaces.

The house consists of 2 double bedrooms with toilets and private bathroom. On the ground floor is a large open living-dining-kitchen area, with a wide bay window and access to the terraces. On the upper floor we can find another living room, one double bedroom and a large bathroom with Jacuzzi. Outdoors, seven main terraces are interconnected with small stone steps surrounding the swimming pool and front of the house.

The geographical location of the place makes it easy to visit most of the top cultural and historic sites of Andalusia, such as the Alhambra in Granada and the Mosque in Córdoba, cities that also offer a wealth of other monuments and places to discover. From the house, it is easy to access the hot springs of Granada, the Arab baths, the ski resort of Sierra Nevada, the beaches of Salobreña or the entire route of the Caliphate connecting Granada with Cordoba, with its many picturesque white villages on the way.

A fabulous retreat

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing fortnight at Jerome’s lovely villa. The setting was absolutely stunning and the villa very comfortable and spacious. Beautiful views from every window and terrace. The swimming pool was very much enjoyed by the family, very clean and a good size for swimming. The villa is also well located, within a short drive to amenities and lovely hilltop tows but peaceful and not overlooked. Jerome was a great host, always quick to respond to any questions and generous with his knowledge of the region. We would definitely stay again. Thanks Jerome.

We Left Early

Problematic property and host. We were excited to be staying there for our family holiday. Knowing August would be hot, we took comfort from Listing stating repeatedly that there was air conditioning. We arrived in 40 degree heat to find there was no air conditioning. Host said he meant that we could open the windows! It was impossible to sleep. We made host an offer to refund half the cost of the stay and for us to leave.Eventually he agreed to refund a fraction of the cost. In the end he didn’t refund us anything, despite promising to do so. His negotiations with us were entirely dishonorable. This property is a family home, not a holiday rental. Only 2 of the bedrooms are available to you. The host’s belongings make it feel as if we were ‘house sitters’. The kitchen has seen better days. Property not clean and not suitable for young children. Wasps were a problem by the pool. The kids stopped wanting to go in being frightened of being stung. The host told us to find their nests and kill them-not how we had envisaged our holiday. There was noone to help when issues arose, like the kitchen gas bottle running out. Host falsely claimed that someone had entered the property as we had left it insecure. We left the keys in the door, just as we’d found them on arrival and host had made no plans for our departure. If you’re looking for a stress free holiday, avoid! In summary, host unavailable and less than trustworthy, and you are paying top dollar for a house sitting experience.

Wonderful Villa

What a brilliant holiday. Jerome made my wife and I most welcome on our arrival and gave a full and comprehensive tour of all the facilities the property had to offer. The photos provided on the Vrba website cannot capture this properties stunning location, set high up on a hill overlooking the surrounding views of the hills and distance Sierra Nevada snow-capped mountains. This property is not overlooked by others so you feel totally isolated which was what we were looking for. The swimming pool is larger than most places we have stayed previously and is well maintained. There are plenty of separate terraces providing differing levels of shaded for sitting out and relaxing. Inside the property is very much as shown in the photos but fails to capture the size and space of each room, which is large. We found this property well-equipped clean and tidy. You do really need the use of a car due to the location and there is plenty of parking room for at least two cars. For my wife and I this property was exactly what we wanted, space, peace and quiet. Jerome was very helpful throughout our stay and we would not hesitate re-booking if we are again visiting this area.

Très jolie villa !! ❤️

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans la villa de Jérôme , une villa juste incroyable ,avec une vue à couper le souffle , un endroit très calme , apaisant , une piscine de 11 mètre toujours entretenu par Jérôme le propriétaire , qui a était tout le long au petit soin de toujours savoir si tout se passait bien , il nous a très bien accueilli et mis à l aise , une personne très humaine !!!a 5 min de la villa dans la ville d alcala la réal , il y’a un super marché , pharmacie , station essence etc … a 1 h de Grenade et à 1 h de la plage ☺️pour toute personnes qui veulent passer un super séjour je vous recommande vivement cet villa , vous ne serait pas déçu !!encore un grand merci à jerome je ne vous dit pas au revoir mais plutôt à bientôt !! ☺️👋👋👋 Vanessa , fabian, Logan , mellina …. 🤗

Super moment de détente et repos

Nous avons passé une superbe semaine de repos dans la maison de Jérôme. C'est une maison où l'on se sent comme chez soi. Nous avons 3 enfants de 11,7 et 4 ans qui ont profité à fond de la piscine et nous aussi. Elle est sans vis à vis, parfait pour se baigner en famille. La villa est très bien situé à 15 min de Alcala la Real ou l'on a visité une citadelle et à 45 min de grenade où nous avons visité l' Alhambra. Nous avons pu également acheter de l'huile d'olive à un producteur qui se situe à 5 min de la maison. Jérôme est très gentil, discret et arrangeant (Nous sommes arrivés la nuit vers 3h du mat', la clé etait dispo). Il est à 2 pas si besoin. Nous avons eu une excellente communication avec lui. En bref, maison au calme, entourée d'oliviers, piscine assez grande pour faire des longueurs et sans vis-à-vis, parfaitement située pour visiter l'Andalousie et propriétaire sympa (et Français, c'est pratique pour communiquer). Je recommande ce bien.

Très bon séjour !

Très grande maison avec beaucoup de charme et bien équipée. Paysage magnifique tout autour et très belle piscine. Communication facile et rapide avec Jérôme, et un grand merci à Conchi pour son accueil. Des rideaux occultants dans les chambres et dans le salon à l'étage, et davantage d'eau chaude dans les salles de bain seraient les bienvenus.

Lovely Property in a Fabulous Location

Located well away from the tourist spots, this property is full of character and is well equipped with everything you need for a great holiday. We wanted somewhere that was large and comfortable with lots of outside space - which is where we spend most of time in the summer anyway. We also wanted a place that was quite private and this place was perfect. The views are just incredible - we spent hours gazing at the Sierra Nevada mountains in the distance and the nearby hills full of olive trees. The swimming pool is exceptionally large and is kept spotlessly clean by Jerome. We have been holidaying in Spain for many years now and this was probably the most relaxing holiday we've had yet - thanks to this villa and its location. Alcala is close enough to be handy for shopping and Granada is only a 30 minute drive away. Its a quirky property full of interesting details, unusual architecture and with lovely artwork on the walls. The main bedroom is huge and has a nice ensuite bathroom. the kitchen is small but well equipped and has a big fridge which is handy. Highly recommend this property to anyone.

Excellente expérience dans un très bel endroit

Maison de charme décorée avec goût où l'on se sent tout de suite chez soin. Le cadre est magnifique. La piscine est une vraie 11m utilisable où l'on peut faire quelques longueurs avec vue sur la sierra nevada. Jérôme est de très bon conseil. Il a trouvé le parfait équilibre entre la disponibilité et la discrétion.

Au coeur de l'andalousie orientale

Magnifique propriété pour une parenthèse andalouse enchanteresse. Jérôme a été aux petits soins à chaque instant, la maison est fonctionnelle, décorée avec goût, idéalement située pour des découvertes de proximité ou pour aller vers les grands centres de Grenade ou de Cordoue.

Belle vacances

Belle propriété avec du caractère avec une grande piscine pour le bonheur de tous surtout avec des températures souvent au dessus de 35. Tout est conforme à l'annonce. Belle région à visiter et le propriétaire c'est toujours rendu disponible pour nous rendre ces vacances plus agréables. 👍👍👍

Lovely Getaway!

The location was wonderful with far reaching views and privacy. Jerome was an excellent host and his olive oil was superb! We enjoyed the pool and shopping was nearby in Alcala. A wonderful and relaxing property.

Loved it!

We absolutely loved the house right from the start. You can easily find it with good directions from Jérôme and the house is good to enter with a normal car. It was very helpful that the house has everything for our baby (bed,chair, even a mixer to make food babyproof). Our holiday started when we put her in the safe, clean, new babybed right after we arrived. When we woke up we were stunned by the amazing views and the house itself. The house is build with so much attention and has unique and beautiful details. It has everything you need and it feels really comforting. It was super clean and the bed was nice to sleep in. During the day we enjoyed all the different places to chill in de garden and on the terraces. This house is definitly a place to relax and have a break out of the busy world! We even used the pool even though it was a bit cold during this time of the year :) At night you can make a nice fire and the house keeps good temperature. Lovely cities like Cordoba and Granada are within reach, but what we most love about this place is the location itself: in the small town (surrounded by nature) you would not encounter much other tourists, and that makes you really feel like you are in Andalusia! We loved that! Thanks a lot Jérôme for your hospitality, you were always quick and helpfull in the contact, and it shows that you have love for your house and you take your guests really seriously! We recommand this lovely place a lot!

Perfekte Entspannungsoase

Das Haus ist ideal wenn man einen Erholungsort abseits von den Touristenmassen sucht, aber dennoch die Städte und Kultur Andalusiens sehen möchte. Da man mit dem Auto recht schnell in Granada und interessanten kleineren Orten wie z.B. Priego oder Alcalá la Real ist gibt es hier einiges zu tun. Natürlich kann man auch einfach nur am Pool entspannen und die wunderschöne Aussicht genießen. Jérôme ist ein sehr hilfsbereiter und zuvorkommender Gastgeber, der uns auch viele Tipps für Ausflüge in die Umgebung geben könnte. Vielen Dank noch mal an dieser Stelle! Wenn wir wieder in die Region kommen, werden wir definitiv wieder hier übernachten.

Baignade à l'aube face au magnifique paysage, la sierra Nevada au lointain.

Notre hôte était très prévenant et sympathique. Le cadre magnifique. La maison, entourée de respectables oliviers, avec le grand séjour et l'espace dégagé pour l'escalier lui donne un air indéniable d’hacienda. La nature environnante est superbe. La piscine est largement dimensionnée et l'eau bien fraîche, ce qui est appréciable en contraste avec la chaleur rencontrée même fin octobre. La maison, quoique relativement isolée en hauteur, n'est pas loin d' Alcala la Real et de Grenade. Sur le conseil de notre hôte, nous avons visité Priego de Cordoba, où l'accueil du centre touristique était parfait, et nous a permis de découvrir tous les lieux pittoresques de cette petite ville andalouse typique. Sur place, au village, de très bons produits locaux tels le fromage de chèvre réputé et l'huile d'olive (un grand classique!). L'atmosphère du lieu reflète un amour envoûtant pour l'Andalousie, terre de contrastes. Idéal pour se ressourcer.

Superbe séjour dans cette très belle maison

La maison est très bien située, entre Grenade et Cordoue, en pleine nature. Toutes les commodités sont à distance acceptable (Alcala La Réal ou même le village pour le petit supermarché, la fromagerie délicieuse - très bonne huile d'olive également). La maison est spacieuse, la vue magnifique, la piscine superbe, les sanitaires très bien, la propreté ok. Jérôme (et Conchi) ont été très disponibles et arrangeants, tout était super !

Wonderful place surrounded by olive trees

We stayed here for a week with the 5 children and had a very nice stay. The house is beautifully decorated with the door being my favourite. The views over the olive groves are superb. We haven't met Jerôme in person, but the contacts via phone and mail were always very efficient and Jerôme seemed very concerned about our wellbeing. Conchi replaced Jerôme and gave us a very warm welcome. Thanks, Conchi! The swimming pool took a central place in our daily routine. It was very well maintained, very clean and with a superb view. Nevertheless, I suggest one point of improvement for the pool. Though it was the beginning of July, water was rather cold. A small solar heating unit would add value to your pool.

Our stay at Alcala la Real

This house is just wonderful! The views are fantastic, across the Sierra Nevada. The outside dining area is wonderful - a lovely wooden table and chairs on a porch in shade, with flowers all around and again, views over the mountains. The pool is great. Big enough for a decent swim and clean and cool, again with great views. Loungers around the pool and lovely light breezes and the sound of the wind through the surrounding olive groves. There are lights around the pool so you can sit there at night. The amenities in the house are great. The washing machine, dishwasher, showers, rooms and bedrooms are all to a high specification. There's lots of hot water, dishes, glasses, lovely furniture, towels, bedding. You'd be forgiven for wanting to spend your two week holiday in the house but there are some lovely places to go in the surrounding area. There are two great bars really close to the house that serve nice drinks and great tapas and the staff are really friendly. Alacala la Real town is lovely and about 10 minutes drive away, with a few good supermarkets and a great market on Tuesdays. The fort at Alcala is certainly worth a visit and there are good restaurants and bars. we saw a wonderful religious procession at the Church of San Juan there and a strange "Burning of the Witch" ceremony! Granada is just about 30 minutes drive away so you can visit in the evening to avoid the heat. Great views of the Alhambra lit up. we'd also recommend visits to Montefrio, Moclin and Priego. We are already trying to arrange our next trip to the house. We would also recommend getting the local chef Conchi to cook a typical Andalusian meal at the house. She is lovely and her food is delicious. We would really recommend this house.

A very special place which suited my husband and myself perfectly.

A house lovingly renovated to create open space inside and open it to the outside yet preserving a Moorish feel to it. The vistas on to the hills with their olive groves & Snow capped Sierra Nevada within the warmth of May with birds singing, sheep bleating in their way home in the evening and each piece of furniture carefully chosen was a real delight. We used it as a base to explore the area and discovered the fort at Alacala de la Real where we spent time learning about Spanish history. We also drive to Granada & Cordoba to explore the sights there. Jerome was wonderful : met us on time & explained where to buy groceries & delicious locally made goat cheese. Responded promptly to our wish to have a different type of coffee maker. A place to enjoy the countryside and be away from the hustle & bustle yet close enough to drive to experience the must see sights in Granada & Cordoba.

Traumhaftes Haus

Ruhige Lage und ein wunderschönes Haus. Von der Terrasse aus überblickt man ein Meer von Olivenhaien. Alles ist gut gepflegt und hübsch eingerichtet. Der Pool ist ebenfalls grandios. In die nächste Stadt (Alcalá la Real) sind es ca. 15 Minuten mit dem Auto. Dort gibt es drei große Supermärkte und sogar ein Krankenhaus. Nach Granada fährt man ca. 50 Minuten, aber auch für Ausflüge nach Córdoba oder in die Sierra Subbética hat das Haus eine praktische Lage. Conchi kümmerte sich liebevoll um alles was wir brauchten. Sogar als wir ein Problem mit unserem Auto in Alcalá la Real hatten, war sie sofort zur Stelle. Für uns war es ein sehr entspanter Urlaub und wir können das Haus nur jedem empfehlen.

Merci Jerome pour l'excellent sejour. Nous avons passe deux superbes semaines.

La maison est tres bien localisee, mi-chemin entre Grenade et Cordoba et tout pres de plusieurs villages (Priego de Cordoba etc). Alcala la Real est une petite ville avec tous les services et de bons restos ( Rincon de pepe) et une magnifique forteresse. La maison est charmante et amenagee avec gout. La vue sur la Sierra Nevada et les champs d'oliviers est magnifique. Rien de mieux que de prendre l'aperot depuis la piscine! Jerome est un excellent hote. Merci encore pour le bon sejour. Séjour formidable au mois d'août 2014

Nous avons adoré nos trois semaines de vacances dans la maison de Jérôme. D'abord l'environnement est magnifique, le soleil n'est pas en option au mois d'août et la vue est saisissante à toute heure. La piscine est fabuleuse, chouettes terrasses, et il ne faisait pas trop chaud la nuit, notamment pour les enfants. La maison est très confortable et bien équipée. Enfin localisation parfaite pour visiter Grenade, Cordoue et plusieurs très jolis village des environs comme Montefrio et Zuheros ! Bref, excellentes vacances.

Idealy located to visit most of Andalousia best places. The property has a very easy acess from Granada. Very conformatble house, nice swimming pool.
