Welcome to "The Trailhead" - A well appointed vacation home on beautiful Tyaughton Lake. The Trailhead provides the perfect base to explore all the South Chilcotin Region has to offer. Within minutes, you have easy trail access to South Chilcotin Mountains Provincial Park. Experience alpine hiking, world class MTB single track, excellent fishing, swimming and self propelled watersports all nestled on “Tyax” Lake at 3300ft elevation. This gorgeous lakefront home has everything to make your vacation experience unforgettable. The Trailhead is located a short walk/paddle to Tyax Wilderness Resort offering fine dining, licensed view deck and full-service spa. Enjoy extreme comfort on the lakefront at The Trailhead. Custom built with local Douglas Fir timber in 2009, this award-winning design was created by well known BC based architects Osburn Clarke. The Trailhead is a cozy wilderness retreat that boasts 3 bdrm /2 bath and sleeps up to 8.
Designed for year-round Comfort :
• Heated tile floors in kitchen, both bathrooms and laundry/mudroom
• Solid Canadian maple floors in balance of main floor; solid local fir floors in loft
• Propane fireplace with blower and forced air heat. Both on thermostats.
• Gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops.
• All linens provided. Plush bath towels. Big colourful “lake towels” for dock lounging
• Stable, solid fir “best built” floating dock on the lake for morning coffee, afternoon sun & swim, happy hour lounging or teasing the night bite with your fly or lure.
• Bring your floatables, kayaks, SUP.
• Full size Maytag extra capacity washer/dryer.
• Bose sound surround with sub for enjoying your tunes – just plug and play + retro CD player!
• 45 foot covered lakeview deck includes Messi approved foosball table and propane BBQ

Beautiful site, sparkling clean, responsive host, well furnished, extra linens, special dog towels, like staying in a private home. Well appointed kitchen. Best vacation rental we have stayed in. Very comfortable, but on the edge of wilderness that we love. We adventured out but came back to a safe and welcoming ‘home’. We love it.

Best rental cabin on Tyaughton lake!!
We had a wonderful stay at the trailhead! We have stayed at other cabins on the lake in the past, and by far this was the best. The home and property was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Alan was an excellent host and was easy to communicate with. We loved our time here making memories and we look forward to our return back next summer!

Little heaven on Earth
It is an amazing cabin, very spacious and cozy at the same time, it felt like home.😊 The lake is everything we needed, it’s great for swimming, fishing, boating, can owing or paddle boarding. Alan’s cabin felt like a luxurious vacation, we looooved every minute of it. Thank you

The Lakefront Cabin was beyond expectations. We found the cabin in great condition, very clean, extremely comfortable, and the kitchen amazingly stocked with dishes, cookware, etc. Tyaughton Lake is located in a gorgeous setting and quiet with little boat traffic. So enjoyed the local loons, herons, and float planes as well as the deer and rabbits in the area. Alan was a phenomenal host throughout. He was very responsive with his communication and shared a delightful sense of humour. We’d most definitely consider a return trip in the future. Thanks for providing a super experience, Alan!!

Alan‘s property was perfect for what we are doing. The location was great. Had everything we needed in the house. Alans directions were excellent as we had a flat tire and his resources helped. We will definitely rebook if we go back to the Chilcotins.

Exactly what we needed!
My family and sister's family had the pleasure of staying at Trailhead Cabin. 10/10! Alan was so helpful and always available to clarify with the booking. He thought of everything; boardgames, cards, fully functional kitchen with sharp knives and heated floors, foosball table, canoe...Enjoyed the deck, the yard and of course the dock. It was heaven.

Awesome property!
Our family stayed at the cabin for a week and had a wonderful time. The cabin is super clean and Alan provides plenty of the staples, all you need to bring is food. The property itself is beautiful with a wonderful private dock on the lake. We caught plenty of fish!
Alan provided a lot of information prior to the trip which really helped. He made himself available the entire time and was just a text/email away but also did a great job of giving us our space and allowing us to just relax and enjoy the property and location.
Highly recommend this rental!!

Wonderful experience!!!
First of all, we would like to thank Mr. Alan for allowing us to enjoy such a beautiful property. We weren't sure at first if we were going to like it. However, we were beautifully surprised on waking up the morning following our arrival!!!!
We loved the feel of the house and even more the lake. Enjoy the sight of deer, hares, birds and even a little snake 😬 around the property... we enjoy canoeing to our hearts content around the lake!!
We loved that the house and its front backyard keep their privacy enjoying the lake. Overall, our group is counting the days until we'll be able to go back!!!! Would recommend to everyone who would like to isolate and enjoy nature and quietness for a while!!!
Please go prepared with enoug provisions for your stay!!!
