Porch was peaceful and perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails. Kitchen was stocked well and allowed is to try all the new dishes on or list. All the time allowing me to work when needed.

The house was great, it was a perfect getaway for 2 couples for the weekend filled with relaxation and fishing. The house was clean and inviting. We took the kayaks out and caught a couple good sized catfish and a fresh water drum. Fishing from the dock, we caught quite a few small catfish.

First time to this lake

Its a great house for just the wife and me. The kayaks are both single sit inside style and seemed only a couple of years old but in very good condition. We had a great time out on the lake kayaking and easy enough not having to bring our own kayaks.

anniversary getaway

We were looking for a place close to Dallas that would allow us to have a small place that would be kayak accessible. We found this location to be surprisingly quiet even though it has close neighbors and access to Cedar Creek Lake was easy right off the end of the property. We used our own kayaks although the host has boats available for guests. We also found a remarkable restaurant only miles from the cabin for a special anniversary dinner.

the comforts of home

We thought it was a nice place.....Quiet...off the beaten path. Access roads are paved, but some can be rough so slow down. Found small problems like the towel hanger fell off the wall when we tried to use them. Would have preferred a more secure lock on the doors. Tech stuff took a while to figure out but worked fine. Inside was spotless, well decored, furnished, and comfy. Washer & dryer was a nice touch. Outside had fire pit, firewood provided, nice settin' porch and viewing area over the dock. We were a little put off by all the bugs/webs on the outside of the house and dock areas....Had a nice parking area and plenty of room, parking under the canopy kept the sun off the truck on those hot days.Hosting guests was a breeze, enjoyed our time there and would certainly return.

Tastefully updated in a tranquil setting

We were greeted by a welcoming gift bag filled with truly nice goodies and a warm greeting card. Even with the stifling heat of the summer in full force, we spent evenings on the beautiful porch playing board games that were provided and taking in the calm vista of the cove. The shiny outdoor grill was something we should have taken advantage of because there weren't a lot of good dining options nearby. We ventured to Palestine for a train ride and enjoyed driving on country roads that circled the lake. The car port is nicely done and provides cooling shade. The lakeside bedroom was particularly bright and roomy, and the bathrooms were modern and clean. The kitchen supplies were top notch! Beautiful plates and cups, and a nicely set table set the tone. Very comfortable couch and a big screen on the tv with lots of channel options were thoroughly enjoyed. Once the heat subsides, a little TLC for the grass and plants will boost the curb appeal. Thank you for a very pleasant visit!
