My son was racing at Atlantic Motorsport park close by and we booked for 4 nights. We didn’t get a lot of time to enjoy the cottage but it’s 5 stars in all aspects

Thanks for coming and for showing us photos of the neighbor that we have never met before! (The very large turtle in the planter.) Your welcome back anytime!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful property. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. The view of the lake was second to none and we loved sitting outside watching the loons, geese and bald eagles. The kayaks and the sup board were used daily. The host Lyndy was easy to communicate with and we loved the attention to detail she put into decorating the house. The home baked cookies were a nice touch!

It was a pleasure to host your family. We are so glad you were able to have good weather to take advantage of the lake! Thanks for keeping the place so clean. We would love to host you again if you are ever back to NS!
The property offers everything you could possibly need or desire while on vacation. Whether you are interested in being active or prefer the calming effect of sitting by the lake, it has it all. We were thrilled to observe a Bald Eagle perched at the top of a tree next to us for over an hour on two occasions.
This property was beautiful, right on the lake on a quiet road. We had everything we needed to accommodate our party of six for our daughter’s graduation from Dalhousie University in Truro. The home was a short drive away from the campus, shops and restaurants. We even spent a day in Halifax and Lunenburg, on the waterfronts, and Peggy‘s Cove! It is a nice, easy drive with plenty to see if you set out after breakfast. We returned to the lake in the evening, sitting out on the porch to reminisce about our day. The hosts were very helpful and very kind. They even left us cookies! We would definitely stay here again!
Overall so pleased with the week. If I had to say a negative it would be that the bunkie had no screens on the windows and just fans for cooling. I also didn’t realize that the bedrooms would be so warm…not unbearable though and nothing the owner could do about that. The owner was so generous with kitchen supplies, towels, bathroom supplies and water. We used the kayaks etc and really enjoyed the lake between running around to the sights of Nova Scotia.Thank you Lyndy for a marvellous vacation.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Location
The house and the property were in excellent condition, very clean, and everything worked well. The view was lovely. Unfortunately, during our stay, the waterfront was quite mucky and weedy, not kid-friendly, so the kids stayed away from the water. The dock and kayaks were in good shape, and we did enjoy some kayaking.Unfortunately, there were inaccuracies in the listing. The actual check-in time was two hours later than the published time on the VRBO listing. There was also confusion about the check-out time. The host arrived an hour and a half before the listed check-out time, which resulted in a rather uncomfortable end to our stay. The host did email afterwards and apologized for the confusion, acknowledging their error.

We are very sorry about the early arrival as the VRBO platform had set at 11 and the other platform we use most of the time is 10. We had our son's wedding setup on our minds that day so made for a confusing morning. VRBO is not very good at publishing the check in times for hosts to check and they cross book us with other stays. We almost always allow earlier check in if we are ready.
As for the waterfront, this year NS is experiencing extreme drought conditions and the lake is no exception. The water is down 2 ft from its normal level, something never before seen from residents of the lake. This made the waterfront rocky and weedy. We are working on cleaning up the cove so everything is work in progress. We recommend to our guests to paddle out to the deeper water for swimming. The lake temp in August is usually around 24c. We also will be building a floating dock to accommodate better swimming.
Guests were very clean and tidy! Thank-you!

About the host
Hosted by Lyndell
When this property came up for sale we jumped at it because we knew it was the perfect spot to share with family but the bills needed to be paid on it and short term rentals was the ticket. We are a retired couple and maintaining the property has been such a joy. We can't get enough of the beautiful surroundings and wildlife. Boating and fishing is one of our favorite pass time activities. Kayaking, biking and hiking are all things we enjoy. Good music and comedy too!
Why they chose this property
Neighborhood is super friendly! Always looking to lend a hand especially for snow clearing and lawn maintenance!
What makes this property unique
Our property is nestled in a little cove at the end of a lane making it super private and quiet. We face southwest so sunsets are glorious. We have met all sorts of wildlife, eagles chirp in the trees beside us and hunt for fish early in the morning. Lots of ducks, geese loons, bunnies, frogs, toads, and turtles are in abundant supply around here. We hear foxes and coyotes at night. It's such a nature haven!
