This dog-friendly, oceanfront Cape Meares vacation rental includes a private hot tub and gorgeous views.
This home is right on the water and about half a block from beach access, located in a quiet coastal town. It's close to places like Seaside, Netarts, and Tillamook, so guests may enjoy peace and quiet and beach side towns with ease.
Entertainment amenities include WiFi, cable, and a DVD player. With a washer/dryer provided, this rental is just like home! There are new floors throughout, and the kitchen was remodeled in 2016.
Gather together in the gorgeous back yard with a garden patio, a nice lawn, and a bench overlooking the water. Or admire the ocean views from the comfort of the hot tub!
The inside of the home is airy and cozy with lots of windows, an open floor plan, and eclectic furnishings. Snuggle up together for a game of cards in the main living room before the wood stove, or go to the den - it's a little darker in there - for a movie or a sports game.
Cook homemade meals in the kitchen nook. Lay out snacks over the breakfast bar, or dine at the six-top dining table. There's also a four-top table for board games in the den.
Sleep deeply in two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. There's a king bed in the master suite, with beamed ceilings, and a queen bed upstairs. Both have private deck space. A futon is available for extra space, making this a perfect home for six people - friends, couples, or family. Dogs may join the fun for an additional nightly fee.
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, this Northern Oregon Coast home puts you right next to the ocean for the ultimate, relaxing vacation!
This property is in a great location with easy access to the beach, especially at low tide. The hot tub is nice with a good view of the ocean.
Fairly comfortable - We only used the downstairs bed and it was very comfortable. The tiny electric heater in the main area upstairs is not adequate to heat the whole area so you will need to buy wood as they do not supply it. You can purchase from Safeway in Tillamook on your way in. The downstairs den is nice for allowing guests to sort of spread out.
Please note that the wi-fi is very slow - less than 1 mbps don't don't plan to stream Netflix, etc. If you are going to be cooking a lot I would suggest bringing a large frying pan as the one there is a scratched up non-stick that seems to be a bit rusty - otherwise there were a good amount of pots. Also, you may want to bring extra kitchen towels and pot holders as there is only one giant silicone oven mitt that I found un-useable.
The view was beautiful, and even better from the hot tub and while enjoying the provided s'mores around a fire. The house was clean and comfortable. The area was quiet. It was tricky to get to the beach, but manageable, and I think public access was an small walk away (we never went that way). We walked down the beach to a hidden little trail, which ended up being a moderately difficult, beautiful hike to the lighthouse. Overall it was great!
Classic north Oregon
Indeed the location is great and we had beautiful hikes along the expansive beach and up to Cape Mears Lighthouse. The property itself is a bit dated (and quite expensive). Carpets are desperate for cleaning -- we were greeted by several ugly stains in the downstairs. Access to the hot tub is via the master bedroom, so if you are staying in the upstairs bedroom, don't think you can sneak to it. We would definitely stay in the area again, but I doubt we would rent this cottage. I do like that they allowed our dog.
Loved the location of the house. It has easy access to the beach and a great view. We had a problem with the wifi and couldn't get the property management to return our call.
We loved our stay Cape Mears. You can easily walk down to the beach, cook a nice meal, or relax on the porch. It was perfect for 2 couples and a pup. We even added an extra night because we were having such a great time. The sliding glass door needs some care and it would be wonderful to restore the steps directly to the beach, but the public access is only 2 house away. Wonderful winter getaway.
