About the property

Beachfront Rare Corner End unit E209 in E bulding of Sapphire Resort & Marina

Glass House on the Sea is a spectacular beachfront, superior, rare and extra large end unit condo with wrap around deck and is located in the highly desirable E building of the Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina on the famous Sapphire Beach. Please take a look at more reviews and photos of the Glass House on our website: This corner condo is perfect for couples, honeymooners and guests who just enjoy the time away from it all. Enjoying your cocktails or coffee on your balcony will make you feel as you are floating on your own super yacht on the Caribbean Sea. You could not be any closer – only 20 steps away from the water, you can smell the ocean air and hear the waves land on the beach. Glass House faces the most beautiful view of the Virgin Islands Archipelago and gets constant breeze blowing from the Pillsbury Sound. The extra large wrap around balcony with two sets of glass doors gives your extra light and space. Condo has no building to the right, therefore allowing you more privacy that no other units can give you. The only things in your sight are the pretty boats in the marina. The second floor delivers better view and the privacy from anyone walking on the beach as well as the security to sleep with the sliding doors open to the breeze if you prefer that over the air conditioning. You can fall asleep hearing the waves crashing on the beach and wake up to the most beautiful sunrise you have ever seen with St. John and The British Virgin Islands framing your view.

Because Glass House is a corner condo and has two sets of sliding doors as well as opening windows in the bedroom and in the bathroom it allows a lot more air circulation and ocean breeze traveling through the unit and cooling it. And, since the sun clocks around the building on the right side - it lets you indulge in the late afternoon light long after other units loose their sunlight. That means a longer day for sunbathing on the chaise lounge or enjoying your cool drink in a comfortable arm chair enjoying the view and the beach.

The modern, yet cozy and inviting décor of the remodeled suite will provide you with the most comfort you would expect from any luxury accommodations. High-count linens and fluffy towels will only add to your indulgent stay. A fully equipped kitchen, utensils and various glasses to suit your choice of libations will be at your disposal.

Stretch out and lounge on a comfortable large leather sectional sofa while listening to the waves. Read a book or watch a movie on cable or stream free Netflix on a large flat screen TV - or enjoy free Wi-Fi. Step outside and find yourself on the beach – great snorkeling is right in front of you or just use a lounge chairs provided by the resort and enjoy the seaside. The turquoise crystal clear swimming pool, overlooking the sea, is a short stroll to your left. Stop at the Double Header Sportfishing and see what fresh fish they caught that day and take some to the condo to grill and enjoy on your balcony with a glass of chilled wine. Go for a sail on the New Horizons located at the Marina’s resort to your right. Or simply take a stroll after dinner around the marina and look at pretty yachts.

Red Hook, a charming Nautical little town on the Harbor that offers grocery shopping and restaurants is only 4 minutes away and a $4 taxi ride (available at the taxi stand at our resort). Red Hook also has Ferries to St. John and the BVIs.

Sapphire Beach Bar - a part of our Sapphire Beach Resort is located down the beach by A Building and Water Sports Rental. They serve great drinks, sandwiches and fresh Mahi Mahi burgers. They have beach service so you can order a drink without leaving your lounge chair! Beach Bar is a fun stop to enjoy great music, crowd watching and beach gazing. Within a short walking distance to the right of E building, inside the Sapphire Village Complex - there is a restaurant - Slice VI - with great food and awsome reviews on Trip Advisor! They open all day and night.

Upon booking I will be sending you a complimentary Welcome to Glass House guide with a local insight to St. Thomas, St. John and British Virgin Islands to help you plan your trip. Our Property Manager - Kathleen Browne is locally available to address any additional needs you might have during your stay at the Glass House on the Sea.

About Natasha Alexander

My husband and I discovered Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina incidentally while in transit on our yacht. The beauty of the Sapphire Beach and the organic presence of the waterfront condominium complex with its heavy solid teak and mahogany exterior wood made us yearn to stay in one of the waterfront units, closest to the water. Being yachtsmen, we assessed the best wind and position of the corner of the E building bordering the Marina, booked Glass House, loved it and bought it. We always felt we had to be on the yacht, anchored in front of some great beach to have that kind of closeness to the water and feeling of the constant breeze. But staying in the Glass House on the Sea gave us exactly that. We loved breathing in the ocean mist, gazing over the horizon and the turquoise water that looked like glass and the most beautiful archipelago in the whole Caribbean.

Why Natasha Alexander chose St. Thomas

What makes Glass House on the Sea so unique is the location. Best area of the Sapphire Beach - the quiet end, away from the main beach which is so close to walk to, yet so far not to see or hear crowds when you are relaxing on your balcony with a book or a cocktail. Unrivaled!

What makes this condo unique

Glass house on the Sea - unit E 209 is the end corner Suite of the E Building, adjacent to the most beautiful Marina in St. Thomas. You will not have another building right next to you to - so you will have your day or night privacy. No need to cover the walls of glass! Building E is also the closest to the water edge, with no obstruction of your view!

Guestbook comments from the owner

This owner spares no expense. We truly felt at home in this beautiful, fully updated and modern condo. Soft towels, wonderful bedding, nice beach towels and more to make out stay comfortable.

We loved the privacy of the 2nd floor with the view of the ocean out front and the beautiful marina from the side. We loved the proximity to Red Hook for food and fun from Sapphire Beach.

Sapphire Beach offered great snorkeling and if you did not have lunch plans you could grab delicious food from the place on the beach. You could find shade under the trees on the beach or lay out on one of the free beach chairs that come with the condo rental. Enjoy!

Beautiful Caribbean Oasis

  • 5 of 5

This condo was absolutely wonderful. The condo was perfectly appointed with top notch appliances and finishes. The corner location was perfect in that it has an oversized balcony that faces the beautiful Sapphire Beach on one side and the marina on the other side. We sat on the balcony most of the time that we were at the condo, although the interior was also beautiful and spacious. The condo had everything we needed, including blender, coffee maker, fridge, freezer and air conditioning. We would absolutely go back.

The Glass House was a very nice condo for two.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay and would stay again for a relaxing vacation. Natasha was very helpful with any questions or concerns we had. We rented a car and explored every bit of the island. We explored many beaches on St Thomas and St Johns. Many of the beaches had great snorkeling and views. We found many places to eat.

The only problems we had was parking in Red Hook is limited mostly due to the two hurricanes in 2017. The parking lots and driveways need attention to the pot holes at the condo. They have a large amount of seaweed all around and we had a tractor and six people trying to clean it up starting at 7:00 each morning and since the condo is so close to the water we had some noise from the tractor.

I would highly recommend the glass house for a St Thomas get away.

Owner's Response: We thank you so much for your visit, Michael and Denise! Thank you for taking the time to write us a positive review. We truly appreciate it! Yes, we have an unusually high amount of Sargasso seaweed this year that not only affected every island in the Caribbean and Mexico but also South Pacific and the East Coast of US. Mother Nature has its own way of expressing herself and all we can do is adjust and change our own ways. The daily cleanup is an important task to make sure all the seaweed that washes on the beach overnight is cleaned up promptly. If left on the beach too long, it dries and gives off an unpleasant smell. And, nobody wants that:) The early daily start gives you a clean beach by the time you're relaxing for your happy hour on the deck. The good news is that the seaweed season is tapering off, with its high peak behind us. The pot holes in the parking lot is, unfortunately, something we are not able to change as our Resort does not own that land and is unable to persuade the owner to fix them no matter how much money we offer. Please accept our apologies. We hope that once you step into your oceanfront condo and see the cluster of Virgin Islands in your view and hear the waves crashing in front of you on the beach, you will accept our Caribbean imperfection. Please come back soon! Returning guests have a special place in our hearts and are always greeted with a generous discount! Natasha

Wonderful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at Glass House on the Sea the last week in June. Natasha, the owner is extremely friendly and very helpful. She answered all of our questions within an hour of us asking them. The condo is beautiful, very clean and modern. The view from the wraparound deck is incredible, you are so close to the ocean. Although the condo has air conditioning, we got a nice breeze just by leaving the balcony screen doors open and which also allowed us to hear the lovely sound of the waves. There are two places within walking distance where we ate, the Sapphire Beach bar (wonderful burgers and smoothies!), and also Slice which is just up the hill for a few breakfasts and a dinner which was very good as well. We also went to Red Hook which is only about a 4 min. taxi ride away which has quite a few nice restaurants and Moe's supermarket which was convenient to shop for a few groceries on our way to the condo from the airport.

Sapphire Beach, and especially Natasha's condo, is a beautiful place to stay. I would highly recommend it. The beach is beautiful and the people are so friendly. We can't wait to go back.

A Dream Come True

  • 5 of 5

What a gorgeous unit, view and group of islands! We went to St. Thomas to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We had an amazing time of relaxation, exploration and beauty appreciation. The Glass House is even better than the pictures. Each time we walked in the door, we were welcomed by the beautiful decor and in awe of the AMAZING view. Natasha, the owner, thought of everything to make our stay incredible and special. The on-site beach bar is fun and friendly, and the beach and water are spectacular.

The location is fantastic, as you look right across the water to Cruz Bay's harbor on St. John. And it's a 4 minute drive to the Red Hook ferry over to Cruz Bay. We took the car ferry over for a day of exploration and snorkeling the gorgeous St. John bays. And another day we took the passenger ferry over just for lunch.

The Charlotte Amalie harbor, shops and restaurants are wonderful & welcoming, as are all the little spots we visited around St. Thomas. We found the people of USVI lovely, warm and delightful. They appreciate tourists who extend a warm greeting or a kind word--we found ourselves falling in love with the shop owners and our restaurant servers.

We highly recommend Glass House on the Sea!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sapphire Bay. The condo was beautifully decorated and well furnished with all th necessary amenities. We particularly enjoyed spending time during the mornings on the deck gazing out at St John and Tortola in the distance. It is a spectacular view. We highly recommend renting the unit.
