A barge runs to the Island from Brisbane to Tangalooma. See the Moreton Island Adventures website for details.
"Days Gutter" provides an excellent "All Weather" anchorage for boats as well as superb fishing, squidding, crabbing and oystering. It is a haven for dugong, turtles and all types of sting rays and sharks. It is also a bird watching mecca.
Apart from being amazing in it's own right, Kooringal is a great base from which to explore the Island.
10 minutes over inland tracks and you arrive on Main Beach. From there it is 40 minutes to Cape Moreton, but that's only if you don't stop on the way. If you decide to head north along the western beach towards the sand hills and Tangalooma, well that's like living in a painting.
And after a big day exploring and back at 'Moreton Escape' you can relax and kick back. No noise. Just the birds. It's lovely!
