Ask a questionAbout Lesley Rocklin
We are a family of 5 (this photo is from 2006) who absolutely love being at the cottage. For us, the Lakefield cottage is a delightful, quiet retreat close enough to the City without long lines of traffic or isolation when you run out of eggs or bacon. Our children have grown up here and they, along with their friends, have formed life long friendships with people on the water and in town. My husband and I met just down the river at Trent University and were thrilled when the opportunity presented to purchase this home. We look forward sharing this special place with you and your children. We look forward to welcoming you and hope that every time you come to the cottage your memories are wonderful.

Why Lesley Rocklin chose Peterborough
Lakefield offers a quiet place to explore water, and trails without the stress of the 400 highway and cramped properties on congested lakes. My husband and I were introduced to the Kawartha area while still in high school, through friends, and fell in love with its many lakes and restaurants. Our cottage is about a 20 minute drive to Warsaw Caves, the majestic trees and massive boulders of this Glacial scratched land will take your breath away. The history of Lakefield: a Cement Factory, the railway, and the massive undertaking to build the Trent Waterway provides a rich, vibrant, story for authors, painters and sculptors. Our property is also a little famous, with Canadian Rock Stars, NHL Hockey Players and even an artist calling this property home at one time or another.
What makes this Cottage unique
I love and long for my morning coffee on the master bedroom deck at about 6am, the sun is just peeking over the trees across the water. Some mornings, when the air is cooler than the water, the fog reminds me of a great Camelot story. Taking a kayak out to explore the river, seeing the loons, and watch the sun rise is an unfound experience anywhere else. My husband loves our huge bonfire pit. He collects all the recycling he can and the property is usually twig free because the chance to sit along side the water from dusk to the early morning hours, with a cold beer in a large chair, with a "Fire Stick" to stoke the flames is all he really wants!
