About this property
She sells seashells by the seashore.
Situated on 2.2 landscaped acres with 200' of oceanfront on Mussel Ridge Channel in mid- coast Maine, this updated one-time B&B easily accommodates 4 families with a bunch of kids. Mid-coast is a perfect jumping off point for day trips to Acadia, Portland and even Moosehead Lake. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs, one with en suite bath, the other with bath across the hall. This bath also serves as the downstairs bathroom. Downstairs, the recently renovated kitchen opens into a large (approx. 22'x26') sunny dining & great room that has a 32" smart TV. Internet is also available. The kitchen is fully equipped including lobster and corn cookers. The large deck off the great room comfortably seats 14 for meals and includes a wing shade. The photos were taken before the spring bloom and before the 'wing' had been put up over the deck. The wing provides a modicum of shade as it can get quite toasty out there. Upstairs has a suite with a large sitting room that includes 2 double bed futons and two twin beds. This area includes a full bath with a large walk-in shower, and a small kitchen. There is also a room with a queen bed (the only bedroom without an ocean view) and a room with 2 twin beds. Both rooms are share a large bathroom that also contains full laundry facilities. There's even a croquet set so you can play a game at sunset and enjoy your Aperol spritz. The house also has many games and puzzles to be enjoyed in case of inclement weather. Kayakers will love the short carry to the water. And if you just want to sit outside and watch the changing colors of the water, there's no better spot than this. Heron sit on the rocks early in the morning and the lobster boats hum as they pick up their traps in the channel. Walk the rocky beach and you'll find interesting shells and stones among the mussel shells that have been dropped by the seagulls. Dogs are permitted and I know they'll have the time of their lives and sleep like babies with all the swimming and running they will do while visiting. I ask that they stay off the furniture (right!) and more important, that you patrol the area and pick up after them. I'm sure that this property will fulfill all of your mid-coast Maine vacation needs and that you, like all of my friends and family members, will come to love staying at this property.
