Acerca de este alojamiento
136s㎡ Cathedral ceiling cabin/3min walk Lake Saiko/BBQ/5min drive Kawaguchi Lake
About 90 minutes by car from central Tokyo and sitting at an elevation of 900 meters, Lake Saiko is one of the Fuji Five Lakes renowned for its tranquility and natural beauty. Unlike other lakes in the area, Saiko has seen little commercial development, preserving much of its pristine environment. Strolling along the lakeshore, you can enjoy breathtaking views featuring the contrast of Mt. Fuji, the lush green Aokigahara Forest, and the cobalt-blue lake surface. These stunning landscapes have quietly appeared in many domestic and international advertisements, often seen by people without them realizing the location.
Wildlife such as deer and Japanese serow occasionally appear nearby, offering rare encounters with nature so close to the city. Saiko is also famous as the place where the extinct kunimasu trout was rediscovered, leading to increased efforts to protect its rich ecosystem. Swimming is completely prohibited, which means there are no noisy motorboats or waves-making it ideal for fishing, as well as for enjoying water activities like kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding on the mirror-like surface of the lake. With a circumference of about 10 km, the lake is also popular for walking, jogging, and cycling.
Weekend House Saiko offers a collection of cottages (A to E on a 3,500㎡ site, and F and G on a 4,000㎡ site), each over 100㎡, providing spacious, tranquil settings that can be rented as entire units. Each cottage is equipped with a wood-burning stove, floor heating, and a fully stocked kitchen, allowing guests to enjoy local ingredients while cooking for themselves. On your private deck, you can relax in a hammock or enjoy a BBQ while taking in views of the forest or lakeshore. Mornings bring the sound of birdsong with your coffee, and at night, you can marvel at a sky full of stars. Escape the noise of the city, digitally detox, and restore your mind and body in rich natural surroundings.
At Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba, you can experience a restored village of thatched-roof houses set against the foothills of Mt. Fuji, with cherry blossoms adding to the scenery in spring. Other dynamic natural attractions include the Narusawa Ice Cave, Fugaku Wind Cave, and the Aokigahara Forest, all formed by ancient lava flows. Lake Kawaguchi is just a five-minute drive away, while the famous Arakurayama Sengen Park (where you can photograph Mt. Fuji and a five-story pagoda together) and the popular Nishiura Street are about 30 minutes by car. Using tranquil Saiko as your base, you can enjoy a variety of popular spots in the region.
