  • The bedroom comes with 2 large single beds that can be grouped into a double bed. The bedroom features a brand new air-con unit with remote control (it works as heating unit in winter time too; installed in Nov. 2009). The bedroom has brand new shutters (double blaze PVC windows installed in Dec. 2009); when the windows are closed, this type of shutters isolate the room from external sound (soundproof); this will give my clients peace of mind during the day and night. One additional guest can sleep in a sofa bed in the living room.

Great location, all comforts, 1 min walk to beach

It was superb. The property atmosphere is welcoming, cosy and warm. Great location, close to shops, bus, taxi rack and just 1 min walk to closest beach. Well worth the money with free unlimited wireless internet connection. Property manager's office is 20 meters from property (she was very helpful for check in / out). The property features all comforts with washing machine, microwave, oven, stove, etc. Modern style and nice forniture. Great sea view and low price.. I couldn't find a better deal. I recommend this property to anyone. Great choice.

Great apartment Praia da Luz

The apartment has a great location in Praia da Luz. We loved the ocean view and the fact that it was steps away from the beach. The apartment had everything we needed and we were minutes from nice restaurants, the bus stop, bank and grocery stores. No need to drive anywhere.

Wonderful, clean and peaceful stay

Apartment was a good size for my wife and I. Beds were pushed together and comfortable to sleep on. Shutters kept out the noise (Sky Sports from pub opposite) but Luz is not that noisy a town anyway.

Living area was great, and tonnes of DVDs for a lazy night in. We ate on the balcony for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. There is certainly room for 2 but it is not big. The view is great and starlings nesting keep you entertained.

The bathroom is new and has no problems, plenty of hot water we found. The kitchen has everything you need.

We were very close to all amenities - the 2 main supermarkets had everything, and our favourite beach is the one you can see on photos, accessible at low tide. The sea temp was lovely and swimming was gorgeous. The larger beach was still not overly busy and not a far walk.

We had a few evening strolls to the beach. The Ice Cream Factory is simply incredible. We also walked to Burgau along the cliffs - takes 1hr to 1.5hrs and a bit uneven but very scenic.

Gill and her husband couldn't have been more helpful, even giving me a few tips via email before arriving. Wife and I would love to return again, perhaps with a baby in tow!

Sehr gut ausgestatte Ferienwohnung

Wir haben Anfang Juni 8 Tage in dem Appartement in Luz verbracht und uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Wohnung liegt zentral mitten im Ort an der Kirche und gegenüber einem englischen Pub. Bis auf eine Ausnahme (nach einem gewonnenen Fußballspiel Englands) gab es keine Lärmbelästigung.

Zum Strand sind es nur ein paar Meter. Die Lage ist gut, doch der Blick aufs Meer ist eingeschränkt. Die FeWo ist komplett ausgestattet, es hat an nichts gefehlt und alles war sehr sauber. Die Einweisung durch Mrs. Gill war sehr nett und umfassend. Auch der Mailwechsel mit dem Besitzer war sehr freundlich.

Der TV empfing allerdings nur ein paar Programme auf portugiesisch - man hätte sich zusätzliche Satellitenprogramme gewünscht.

Almost, but not quite.

Very nice apartment, but not quite as described. The apartment was clean, with all kitchen utensils including, hob/oven, toaster, kettle, teapot, microwave, freezer/fridge and washing machine.

Balcony was very small, overlooking street. Not really room to sit and take in the view for more than one. Sea view was obscured by large tree in courtyard of Pub (The Bull) opposite.

All amenities available in the apartment, but no Wifi, it had been cancelled.

Excellent help from Manager Gill, couldn’t have done more to be of assistance.

Wonderful holiday none the less, with very friendly staff in The Bull, and the Luz Tavern across the street. Some very nice Restaurants like The Dolphin, just along the street. (South African and a little expensive), Chaplins behind the Church, good and reasonable. If you find the portions a little on the large side, like I did, most Restaurants will, if asked, let you take home the uneaten portion. Some local takeaways nearby and a local Bank just across the street from the apartment. Spar Supermarket about 3mins away and Batista Supermecado about 5mins away.

If you are not concerned about an uninterrupted sea view, or sitting on the balcony, then maybe this would be your ideal location. One word of warning, the streets are all cobbled and not suitable for the wearing of high heels. This I was told by one of the staff in The Bull. All in all, a vey nice holiday, with wonderful weather, and I think I will return to this area, if not this apartment.

The apartment benefits of a fairly good sea-view indeed and the picture posted on this website has been actually taken from within the apartment, specifically the living room. As visitors can see in the picture called "Beautiful sea view from balcony" there's a tree located on the road. Every year, at the beginning of the summer season (May), the local government gardeners cut the tree branches as a regular routine. Of course, at the end of the summer season (September/October) the tree branches grow back to their regular size and partially obstruct the sea-view. I hope this clarifies. Thank you, Walter

Apartment Praia da Luz

The apartment was comfortable and very well situated for beach shops bars and restaurants. Air conditioning was great, bathroom and kitchen well equiped. Gill was very friendly and helpful.

Praia da Luz situated on Portugal's western coast, approximately 5mins drive from Lagos & its Marina & about 45mins drive from Faro airport. Praia da Luz translated means Beach of Light & it certainly lives up to its name with lovely golden sands & a quant promenade which is yet unspoiled. It has a good selection of Restaurants with the Dolphin Restaurant the most popular. The Boavista Golf Club is approximately one & a half miles away. Within 20 miles there are five more golf courses. There are some lovely walks in both directions and in summer months the usual water sports are available. Luz is a small town built on a slope and the house is south facing at the bottom by the beach. There are two good supermarkets. A car is not necessary because there is a regular bus service and affordable taxis to Lagos.

I do not accept bookings if you want to checkin in 7 days. I need one week to organize everything for your arrival.

Security deposit is EUR 200 and this will be handed over in cash upon check-in. If no damages are found in the property at the end of the stay, the security deposit will be entirely returned to the guest.

The guest agrees to paying an extra charge for "meet and greet" service if check in or check out occurs outside of regular business hours. "Meet and greet" service is offered for free during business hours. Regular working hours are Mon-Fri from 9am to 6pm and Sat from 9am to 1pm. The price surcharge will be paid in cash upon arrival/departure to the property owner or manager. Price table as follows:

- from 6pm to 9pm > surcharge of EUR 10 per hour (minimum 1 hour)
- from 9pm to 9am (night) > surcharge of EUR 30 per hour (minimum 1 hour)
