New Canadian cabin in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, was built in March 2024.

It is my honor to introduce myself as a property owner and a dedicated host. I am a currently professor of Mastering Public Diplomacy at the University of Ottawa, Canada. A recently retired Canadian diplomat, lawyer, and former professional violinist from several symphony orchestras around the globe. A retired Air Force Skydiving instructor officer. In addition to my wonderful life experiences, I am an active private pilot and a motorcycle fan. You might notice that more than one person would welcome you to the property, including Mr. Felix, our closest neighbor. We are enjoying receiving you as our special guest considering that this cabin was built in 2024 and this is the first time we are learning on to manage a property online.

This is a property house inside a private ranch, therefore a very quiet and secure place to enjoy picturesque landscapes.
It has a beautiful walking trail that brings you to the river and Confluencia Park, simply take the road you came from and turn left about 50 meters from the house, you will reach the river after 7-minute walk. Our only neighbor is Felix (65) and his wife, a retired typical Dominican country-style man who lives behind the property. He is open to helping you even though he does not work for us. Here you do not have to worry about nearby noisy neighbors or traffic. We are at a five-minute walking distance to the nearest minimarket and many other shops, excellent restaurants and services.

This is a unique property in Jarabacoa thanks to its special location, a very secure place inside a private ranch, close to the river, and a 50-meter distance from the forest walking trail.
Besides our normal indoor gas stove, you can enjoy our light portable charcoal BBQ grill, or our fixed outdoor BBQ charcoal grill, or our two outdoor wood-fired stoves. You can take anywhere free or charge our portable BBQ grill for your outdoor cooking plans, but handle it with care and bring it back to the property.
The property is a cabin inside a private ranch. We have decided not to place window screens to get perfect mountain and surrounding views with 100% ventilation year-round. During rainy, windy, or dusty days, it is common that we keep close the pool. If you arrive during warm days, simply keep all doors and windows open during the day. When necessary, you can keep the front and upper windows fully open during the night.
Although we are one of the safest places in Jarabacoa, only as a precautionary action, engage the indoor alarm before leaving the house and disengage it upon arrival by pressing once the remote control placed inside the house. We have an electricity backup system that should be manually turned on or off in case of external city electricity supply failure. The backup switch is located on the left side of the kitchen.
As we are part of a milk production rach, it is highly recommended NOT to park your car along the country road of the house, only use our private parking. If you are coming with more than one car, please ask the host where you are allowed to park them at no charge. Please be ready to live the experience of pure Dominican countryside.
