Located in the High Peaks Region of the Adirondacks, Brookside Cabin is situated along Johns Brook in the hamlet of Keene Valley and within walking distance to the hikers' major trail-head to the Mts. This efficient cabin has all the comforts of home as well as a front & back porch, gas grill, stone fireplace, flat-screen TV, wi-fi, dishwasher, stove/oven refrigerator, clothes washer & dryer, a carport and use of the lean-to by the brook.

Very cozy cabin in the woods right next to the creek. The cabin had everything you need. It felt very private and quiet and centrally located for High Peak hikes. We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return!

Great cabin and property

Our family of four enjoyed a long weekend at the cabin and exploring the area. Our kids especially loved exploring the creek. The cabin met all of our needs!

Cozy Cabin

Great location in Keene Valley. Beautiful location in the woods with Jon’s Brook nearby. Very calming and an extremely comfortable and clean cabin.

Wonderful cabin

We had a fantastic stay at the Brookside Cabin -- two adults and two teenagers, up primarily to hike. Cabin was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful setting amongst the trees, alongside John's Brook. Only 1 mile from the Garden parking lot/trailhead, and easy access to the Keene Valley and Lake Placid. We hope to stay there again.

Great place to unwind

My husband and I were looking for a quiet place to relax and this was perfect. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the cabin and spent many hours outside listening to the sound of the water flowing nearby. Communication was great and the cabin is well-stocked with kitchen and laundry items. We would definitely stay here again.

Another Flawless Trip

Our group enjoyed our third annual visit with great comfort and all the amenities we needed for a long weekend of tough high peaks hiking. Anticipating another trip next year. Can’t recommend this cabin strongly enough!

Thanksgiving visit to Keene Valley

We are return guests to John’s Brook cabin. This visit was just as pleasant as past visits. We were greeted by a welcome letter and a loaf of banana bread. The cabin is well stocked and in a great location. We look forward to returning soon.

This cabin was absolutely beautiful—both cozy and inviting. Nestled along John’s Brook, it offers easy access to several trailheads and is just a short walk to the charming town of Keene Valley. The space was spotless, thoughtfully equipped, and stocked with amenities that made us wish we could extend our stay beyond the long weekend. It comfortably sleeps four, with plenty of room for everyone. We were warmly welcomed upon our arrival with soft lighting, logs in the fireplace ready to burn, and a thoughtful card accompanied by cookies. Communication was excellent from start to finish—we truly could not have asked for a better experience. Absolutely top-notch!

ADK Home away from Home

The Cabin was so cozy! Downstairs bedroom was clean and comfortable. They had a whole handbook of info to know, essentials for cooking and a laundry station. Wifi was minimal so I wouldn't plan on working or streaming here!

Perfect Stay!

We've now stayed at the cabin multiple times over the years. Extremely comfortable and cozy. Feels very secluded but easy access to a few great eating spots in Keene Valley (Ausable Inn, Noonmark Diner, etc.). The accommodations are very comfortable - especially love the heated floors! In spite of smaller size, it very easily accommodates our 13 and 15 yr old children up in the loft with the trundle pull out bed. The location is a great jumping off point for High Peaks hikes and checking out Lake Placid and surrounding area. We look forward to going again and again!

One of the best VRBO experiences we have ever had!

We arrived at the property to find music softly playing, twinkle lights on the fireplace mantle, fresh flowers in every room and a wonderful basket of goodies that included homemade cookies and a welcoming note. Our cabin was just what we needed for a week of peace and quiet; enjoying afternoons in front of the fire. We cooked most meals in and had everything you would need and more! I couldn't recommend this cabin more highly and will definitely keep it on my "must return to" list. Thank you for making our stay so special.

Perfect Stay

My wife and I spent 19 days at the Brookside Cabin starting 8/16/23. The cabin was immaculate. It was so clean you'd think it was brand new. Everything worked perfectly. The cabin was very comfortable, and well stocked with everything you'll need for an extended stay. There were home made cookies and wood set up in the fireplace waiting to be lit. Its a short walk to restaurants and super close to hiking, biking, kayaking, concerts, plays, movies. We had the perfect relaxing vacation.

Just the perfect cabin!

We had the best stay in this little cabin, based ourselves here for hiking and fishing. The cabin is just perfect, the owners have thought of everything you could possibly need, with some cute personal touches too. They were kind enough to accommodate our dog and he was even greeted with his own bag of home made dog cookies. Close enough to keen valley to walk to the old mountain coffee company where you can get great coffee and breakfast, and there is a pub at the end of the road for a drink in the evening. One of the trailheads is a short walk or drive up the road. We didn’t want to leave and will 100% be coming back!

Fantastic cabin with everything you could ask for!

Our family stayed here as our home away from home during a ski trip to Whiteface, and it was perfect, even nicer than what we expected from the photos! Very very clean, really nice (and comfortable) handmade furniture, a cozy fireplace and a well appointed kitchen. Everything we needed was available, the owners have clearly put in a lot of attention to details: I don't think I've ever stayed at a cabin with a high quality, sharp kitchen knife, but this kitchen had one. And a gas stove too, not electric! As the cook in the family I was very happy. Radiant floor heating kept the place warm and toasty. We had a wonderful stay, and will definitely be back again.

Great location in Keene Valley for hiking

We really enjoyed our second stay at this location. Quick drive to the Garden parking area and great local area. Cabin had everything we needed for a long weekend stay. Looking forward to a future visit.

Perfect location!

Great location backing up to Johns Brook. Leanto is great for a campfire and private view of Brook. House was very clean and perfect size for our family of 4. Quick access to several high peak trailheads and Lake Placid town. Would definitely rent again without hesitation.
