About this property

The Cottage at Haven on High

Relax with the whole family at this newly-renovated, peaceful cottage and garden in the centre of Tasmania. With space for six, you will have the entire cottage to yourselves as well as the large adjoining private yard.
The self-contained primary bedroom suite exudes comfort with split-system AC as well as underfloor heating throughout the bedroom, office, and bathroom. The king bed faces a handcrafted stained glass window - one of several unique features of the property - and a large closet and dresser enable you to settle in for trips of any length. Connecting the bedroom to the bathroom is a multi-purpose room equipped with yoga gear, reading materials, work stations, and a spare monitor, keyboard and mouse for those who are working remotely.

Two additional bedrooms are found in the loft, accessed via a custom-designed spiral staircase. While the loft is suitable for four guests of any age, the stairs require care for those who are less nimble. Young children in particular love the loft and having a private space to play.
On the ground level, a spacious open lounge serves as the central area for unwinding and socialising. It features a four-metre bench seat beneath stained glass windows, across from which are comfy armchairs, bookshelves, and a wood-burning fireplace. Several stacks of books about Tasmania and Australia are provided along with a record player, smart tv, guitar, children's books, and a selection of family friendly board games. Split system AC and heating keeps the open living area comfortable year round.
Our contemporary kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare home-cooked meals - plus a Nespresso machine to get your morning started. There's dining space for six in the sunroom, with custom, locally-crafted Tasmanian myrtle tables affording each person a view of the rose trees and surrounding yard and gardens.
The large lawn seen from the sunroom is fully fenced in for your private use, and we've provided lawn games, picnic gear, and an outdoor dining table to help you enjoy the green space.
We can't wait to host you! Once you've booked we will share recommended shops, restaurants, activities and travel tips to help you make the most of your stay.

Excellent. The Cottage has such a great atmosphere, immaculate, family friendly, very comfortable with above and beyond the comforts you would usually expect. Some of the highlights include: the extensive array of boardgames, and loft beds for the kids... the fireplace and stained glass windows add to the great atmosphere.. the overall tidyness and airy vibe with lots of natural light all complement a natural rustic charm. The host is amazing and very responsive. It is easy to see the cottage has been renovated with much love, and design flair. We really enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommended.

About the host

Host profile image
I am a travel enthusiast, sports fanatic, and bookworm based in Tasmania and Melbourne, Australia.

I also love unique architecture, and this passion led to becoming the proud owner of a heritage-listed church and adjoining country cottage. Sharing these spaces with guests brings me great joy.

Why they chose this property

Tasmania is full of amazing nature, tasty locally-grown food, and kind people. Campbell Town offers a central hub from which to explore the whole state, and the relaxed pace of the country town helps me unwind.

What makes this property unique

The Cottage adjoins a heritage-listed bluestone church, with some of its design features inspired by that historic building. The A-shaped roof, stained-glass windows, and custom-built spiral staircase add a taste of history and elegance to the cottage's natural country charm.
