Outstanding

Great space....clean and tastefully appointed. Has all the necessary ammenities to make our stay very comfortable....including a host that was attentive to details and responsive when called upon ! A serene and quiet patio to enjoy evenings on. A definite "would whole heartedly recommend" AAA+++

Good and bad

The unit was clean, bright and spacious. It overlooked greenspace and had access to neighbourhood paths for walks. The surroundings were quiet. It was a welcoming space.The problem was that sound proofing was non-existent between the ground floor of the home and the unit. We have stayed in basement units many times, and never had issues with noise before. At one point it sounded as if someone was bouncing a large ball on the floor or jumping up and down. We contacted the owner and the noise stopped for the most part. The owner replied to our message but we were unable to open the reply. Sadly, that was not the end of the noise. Loud, heavy footsteps, continued off and on throughout the evening. They finally stopped for good at midnight. Shortly after 6 a.m. the next morning it started again. It went on for around half an hour as the person went back and forth repeatedly over our bedroom. The noise even woke my husband who is quite deaf without his hearing aids. We ended up leaving after the first night and going to a hotel. On the plus side, the lady we met upon arrival kindly agreed to issue a refund for the other two days of our stay. If the owners can sort out the soundproofing between the floors, I would recommend this VRBO to others.

Moving son to university

Walk-out basement suite in family home in nice neighborhood in Milton. Quiet, clean, 2 bedrooms and kitchen/living room, laundry room, bathroom. Lovely garden to look out at or sit out. Hosts were very quick to respond to our questions and to welcome us/ensure we had what we needed. We were the first guests in this suite. We stayed 6 days. So we ate breakfasts at the suite and some suppers too. It was great to have a “home base” as we did day trips out to Niagara Falls one day, or to downtown Toronto to orient our son to the campus another day, or drive to Bruce Trail, or ride the subway or visit Casaloma. While the location isn’t right next to all the tourist destinations, it was exactly what I wanted as it was sort of midway between all the sights and gave us a chance to escape the noise and busyness of the city each night. The hosts provided extra towels as we requested. There was everything we needed for cooking/eating (aside from groceries). The fridge/stove/microwave/washer/dryer worked as brand new (and looked brand new). The shower was lovely. The kitchen is small but very nicely finished. The master bedroom bed was very comfortable, good pillows, the second bedroom has a futon but also an air mattress (which we didn’t use). Bedding and blankets were provided and in good shape. There is a flight of stairs to navigate to get inside but it is well lit. We would happily stay there again should we be back under similar circumstances.

Suchte nach Übernachtungsmöglichkeit in der Nähe von Oakville

Waren zu zweit, Wohnung war sehr gut ausgestattet und sauber. Vermieter war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Einziges Manko,es war manchmal zu laut von oben.
