Escape to this beautifully decorated holiday home in the heart of Whitstable, sleeping 6 people in three separate bedrooms. Jubilee Cottage is a characterful home just a stone’s throw from the beach (no more than a 5 minute walk) and just moments from Whitstable High Street with its abundance of pubs and restaurants and delightful boutique shops. Built in 1887 - the year of Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee after which the cottage is named - the house retains much of its historic charm and original features as a Mariner’s home over 100 years ago.
On the ground floor there is a comfortable and stylish lounge which is perfect for cosying up with a book on a chilly winter's evening, or for watching TV (Sky included) or DVDs from the library provided. There is a fully equipped kitchen which is well stocked with all you might need for your stay, including double oven, microwave, and washing machine. A separate dining room seats 6 people, which together with a comfy sofa, makes this room the heart of the house and a great place to mingle and chat over a drink or a meal after a day exploring. There is also a convenient cloakroom (toilet and hand basin) located downstairs.
Upstairs you will find 3 bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. The family bathroom includes a shower over the bath, WC and basin. All bedrooms have been recently refurbished and are tastefully decorated and furnished with high quality bedding and throws.
The garden is lovely to sit out in on warm summer evenings, complete with outdoor sofas and dining table plus small grassy area. The house even has a driveway with parking for one car which is a rarity in Whitstable (please note that the driveway is of limited width and passengers are recommended to disembark the vehicle before the driver parks).
There is free off street parking for 1 car and there are parking spaces outside for an hour - enough time to unload. The nearest free street parking is in Cornwallis Circle which is only round the corner. The nearest paid parking is Middle Wall car park. You can view the charges on the Canterbury City Council website. Parking can be limited in the high season but once you have parked up, you are close enough to walk into town, beach, shops etc.
You can also visit the 'Just Park' website to find out where to park in Whitstable.
There are frequent busses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along Harbour Street, High Street, Oxford Street etc.
The trains from Whitstable station will take you to Ramsgate or further afield to London. Whitstable Train Station is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
