Còmpeta, the nearest pueblo blanco, famous iconic, Andalucian moorish village has restaurants and tapas bars as well as music and live entertainment. Local shops and supermarkets can be found here too. Horseriding, off road motor biking, and excursions into the mountains can all the arranged. Your host is happy to prepare picnics to order.
Malaga city is an hours drive away to the west and Granada city with the incredible Alhambra is only an hour and a half to the north. You can go skiing in the morning and be swimming in the Mediterranean in the evening.
Why not explore the lost village of Acebuchal? A hidden gem in the mountains, victim of the Franco era, now brought back to life by a previous inhabitant. With a top rated restaurant this is a favourite destination for walkers, but it can be reached from the Frigiliana side by car.
Frigiliana is another pueblo blanco and is home to many artists and craftspeople.
Nerja is a traditional Spanish fishing village with nightlife, restaurants and tapas bars as well as fabulous beaches including Burriana beach where you can hire canoes, pedal boats and jet skis and choose from the many bars, restaurants and chiringuitos along the horseshoe beach.
Cortijo de Croft (as the Villa is named) is an idyllically situated spot, allowing the privacy of the campo, while easy access to surrounding towns and villages.
In the summer months the pool and access to beaches are perfect, in spring and winter access to the mountains for fabulous local hiking trails in the winter sunshine surrounded by orange, lemon, almond and olive trees, blossom is out in January/February, a stunning time of year to visit.
