Cosy cottage in the historic village of Whalley, close to amenities. There are plenty independent of shops and restaurants within a few minutes walking distance. The cottage is overlooking the stunning ancient Abbey grounds and the River Ribble which is just a short stroll and there is a picturesque weir just two minutes walk away where you'll often see the local Crane looking for his catch and if you're lucky, the otters playing in the river. The cottage has all modern conveniences to make your stay as comfortable as possible, it has been very tastefully decorated in a traditional cottage style retaining its character features. The village is ideally located providing easy access to the whole of the Ribble Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Village itself is home to Whalley Abbey open to the public and just a few minutes walk away as well as the 13th century St Marys Church also open to visit and perhaps buy the home made jams on sale inside. There is a fabulous range of independent shops raging from connoisseur wines to antiques, designer clothes and gifts as well as an ice cream shop and jewellers. There is also an artisan market on the last Sunday of every month - selling local products, vintage and craft items. There is a train station serving Manchester Preston and Clitheroe within 10 minutes walk, we have a tennis club, a cricket club and several golf courses. Whalley is a perfect location for the many wedding venues we have in the valley as well as Michelin starred restaurants nearby; ie Northcote Manor, The Freemasons, The Three fishes all a few minute drive away.
