Alexander Moore, II. Und seine Familie ließen sich 1831 in der Nähe des damaligen Catawba-Flusses nieder. Sechs Generationen von Moore-Nachkommen haben das Eigentum fortwährend besessen und gepflegt. Der heutige Besitzer, John Moore, Jahrgang 1936, war der direkte Nachkomme von Gen. John Moore, der im Unabhängigkeitskrieg kämpfte. Er wuchs mit seinen vier Brüdern auf der Farm auf, die damals Getreide- und Baumwollfelder, Obstgärten, Kühe, Pferde, Hühner und Schweine besaß.
Im Jahr 1958 ermutigte John seinen Vater Clyde, der damals in Rente war, Kiefern auf den Brachflächen zu pflanzen. Im Jahr 1980 wurden der Teich und Tennisplatz hinzugefügt und das Haus wurde aktualisiert. John und seine Frau, Patricia, haben das Haus und das Grundstück kürzlich renoviert und öffnen es für andere, damit Mooreland weiterhin von zukünftigen Generationen genossen werden kann.
