Ruhiger Rückzugsort auf einem Berggipfel mit herrlichem Bergblick. Nur wenige Minuten vom Trophäenforellenangeln, Golfen, Skifahren, dem Appalachenpfad, dem Watauga-See, Banner Elk, gehobenen Restaurants und vielem mehr entfernt. Besser kann Mountain Living nicht sein. Sie sind weniger als drei Kilometer vom Roan Mountain State Park entfernt, der sich auf dem TN Hwy 143 am Fuße des majestätischen 6,285 Fuß hohen Roan Mountain befindet, der Heimat des größten natürlichen Rhododendron-Gartens der Welt und einer unglaublichen Panoramaaussicht auf die Berge (siehe http: // www. roanmountain.com). Am Fuße des Berges, ganz in der Nähe unseres Grundstücks, umfasst der Roan Mountain State Park mehr als 2.000 Morgen Land, das von üppigen Hartholzwäldern entlang zerklüfteter Kämme dominiert wird. Der kühle, klare Doe River schlängelt sich durch die Mitte des Parks und versorgt eine gesunde Forellenpopulation. Zu den Aktivitäten im State Park gehören ein beheizter Pool, ein Volleyballplatz, Tennis- und Basketballplätze, Ranger-geführte Wanderungen, Fliegenfischen auf dem Fluss Doe, Musik / Aufführungen im Amphitheater usw. Unser maßgefertigtes Gebirgshaus 2017 bietet eine großartige Aussicht auf die Berge und einen Frühlingsteich. Es gibt eine weitläufige überdachte Terrasse. Holz- und Fliesenböden mit offenem Grundriss. Die Küche ist sehr geräumig mit einer großen Insel und Blick auf die Berge. Auf jeder Etage befindet sich ein Hauptschlafzimmer. Jeder Meister hat eine Waschküche und ein Vollbad. Das Heizsystem ist ein Fußboden mit Thermostaten in jedem Schlafzimmer.

Bitte beachten Sie, dass der obere Teil unserer Schotterstraße steil ist und für einige Fahrzeuge und Lasten schwierig sein kann. Wir empfehlen Ihnen, mit einem Allrad- oder Allradfahrzeug anzureisen, besonders bei schlechtem Wetter.

Wonderful location and property!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pictures do not do this beautiful new property and gorgeous view any justice! Alan communicates very quickly and is a gracious host. The place is very remote and quiet. The last few hills leading to the house are very hard for a regular car to climb so if you don't have a 4-wheeler prepare for a short but strenuous hike. We did not mind it but a person who is not in good shape may not be able to do so. There are plenty of trails around the area and Alan has some spare maps in the house. When not hiking, we stayed on the porch all day enjoying the view. We highly recommend the Smoky Mountain Bakers which has a great stone oven pizza (and pastries).

Amazing Property Off the Beaten Path
We were looking for a place with a view that could accommodate 5 adults, and this location did not disappoint! It was as out-of-the-way as you could get. And, yes, you really do need 4-wheel-drive to make it up the driveway. The amenities were exactly what we were looking for. There were enough plates, pans, serving dishes, and utensils for us to serve our Thanksgiving dinner. I personally loved the radiant heat floor, and I now know what feature to look for in my future home. It was amazing that there were so many windows to watch the sunrise. I would love to see the view in the spring, summer, and fall. I'm sure it's spectacular. The nearby hiking and state park conference center with wifi were great perks. I wish we had more time to explore the area. If we ever meet my parents about halfway again, this is where we will stay. Alan was so communicative, and made sure everything was great throughout our stay. We couldn't have asked for a better host! Our best VRBO pick to date! Easy check in and very easy check out. Thank you!

Beautiful Autumn Weekend
This cabin is perfect. Lots of sleeping spaces, plenty of bathrooms, large kitchen, movies and books, beautiful views! The place is spotlessly clean. It is very near our “ancestral home” so is just what we needed. The colors of the trees and the weather was just beautiful!

Spectacular view
My husband and I stayed in this home while hiking in the area. The home was far more than we needed with one bedroom on the main floor and the other bedrooms with bathrooms upstairs. It is a great set up for multiple families or couples. The drive is steep, but our Acura MDX was able to do it without difficulty. Watch for deer as you drive as you are likely to see them on the way to the house. Very short drive from Carvers Gap and Roan Mt State Park.

The home and surrounding area are beautiful! Alan gave very thorough instructions and checked on us via vrbo. They had everything we needed there. The view is amazing from the picture windows and porch. There are many amazing things to do within 20 to 60 minutes away. Would absolutely stay here again. You do have to go up the driveway carefully but is well worth it. There was plenty of room and they had everything there that we needed.

We stopped at Roan Mountain for two nights to end our vacation and we loved this cabin! We only wish we could have stayed longer. The location was beautiful and the cabin was comfortable and well stocked. The views were gorgeous!

This is a wonderful place to stay, and was centrally located to many great visiting sites. The house was clean, well stocked and a very comfortable place to stay, and the views from the deck were beautiful. The hosts were great and communicative. As others have mentioned, the road is best suited to a mid to small AWD SUV or an AWD car. I was in a 3/4 ton truck, and it was more difficult for me than my friends in their SUV.

The Family and friends as well as I loved everything about this house. I would love to stay there in the summer as we went for New Year and the first time snowing Tubing. The place was clean, and quiet and had everything you would want for a mountain stay. It is a steep climb but typical mountain terrain. My Suburban did the climb in two-wheel but I know how to drive the terrain and if you're not accustomed use 4 or all-wheel drive so you don't mess up the road. I would highly recommend this house if your willing to treat it with respect as it deserves that at the very least. The area is great for anything you want to do and if you just want to stay home it is great for that too!

Everything in the house was as described. Alan was a great communicator and replied quickly. His written directions were indispensable and a must have. The driveway to the house is difficult. A GOOD driver, dry driveway, and patience are necessary to successfully climb the driveway in a two-wheel vehicle and you won't want to make the trip often.

Beautiful get away!
We loved the seclusion of this place. Spent a lot of time on the covered deck enjoying the view of the surrounding mountains. Even though the cellphone service is spotty it was nice to still have WiFi available. The layout of the house was great. We had 3 couples and two teenagers with us and never once felt crowded. The 4 bedrooms and three baths were a big reason we chose this place. Would love to stay here again.

Perfectly Serene
This was such a perfect place for my family and I to stay. The location is secluded without neighbors within 300 yards. The home is large. It feels much larger than the pictures actually portray. We spent most of the days just relaxing on the deck and listening to the birds sing. It is about a 15 minute drive to the grocery store and gas. Roan Mountain state park is right down the street with beautiful hiking trails and the Doe River as well. The views are amazing!!! I cannot honestly think of anything this property lacked. We will definitely be booking this home again.

Beautiful view- steep hike to the house
This home is equipped to comfortably sleep a large gathering for any age group. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook, there are plenty of towels and blankets and seating. By far the best part about the home is the breathtaking view from the back porch. We enjoyed watching the sunrise while drinking coffee overlooking the mountains every single morning. The only drawback is the the very steep gravel road to the home. If you do not have a 4x4 vehicle you will not be able to get to this home. We parked at the base of the hill and walked to and from the home every day. It worked for us but just be weary of it for children or anyone who cannot easily hike. Otherwise the view and accommodations are totally worth it. Thank you for the amazing stay!

Roan Mountain Hiking and Rafting
This is an amazing house! Much more spacious than the photos indicate. Alan, the owner, was very responsive and flexible. It was very nice to have two refrigerators on the main floor and a W/D stack on the main and upper floors. The view photo is accurate--stunning view! We hiked at Carver's Gap, rafted on the Watauga and Nolichucky rivers, and went kayaking and SUP at Watauga Lake. In an area where it takes 30-45 to arrive at any destination, this is a fabulous central location.
