— WELCOME TO SAINT-LUNAIRE (35) —
«Old fishing village»
Saint-Lunaire (2,500 Lunairians) is a seaside resort with a pleasant charm. We advise you to take the walk from Saint-Lunaire, outside its four beaches, to the Pointe du Décollé. You will have a magnificent view of Cap Fréhel in Saint-Malo. The sandy beaches, very "family", are comfortable for young and old.
A former fishing village and still deeply marked by its maritime past, Saint-Lunaire presents all the charms of the family resort. From the old town centre and its fishermen’s houses to the sumptuous villas of the seaside era, come and discover the many facets of Saint-Lunaire! A must-see in the town, the Pointe du Décollé and its eclectic villas offer a breathtaking 360° view of the Bay of Saint-Malo, from the Corsair City to Cap Fréhel.
Saint Lunaire (or Leonor), one of the sons of Hoël I and Saint Pompée (or Coupaia), brother of Saint Tugdual and Saint Sève, accompanied by monks and lay people, entered a vast forest around 535, cleared it, built a chapel there, where the Old Church is now located, which will be erected by the lords of Pontual in the 11th century.
