Pet Policy
Pets are allowed only at properties that indicate Pets Considered in the amenities tab. If you are planning to bring your pet, please conduct your search specifically for a home that is pet-friendly. Prior written approval is required, and a pet fee applies. Please call our office to inquire about your pet, as homes may have varying policies.

County Rules
Each county requires we inform you of the rules and regulations relevant to your home's Short Term Rental Permit. We thank you in advance for abiding by the rules below, also included in your signed in the Vacation Rental Agreement.

Maximum Occupancy: There shall be no gatherings, events, weddings or other group functions on the Premises with more people than the number of persons stated on the Agreement.
Parking: Parking on the street is prohibited at all times. All cars, boats, and trailers must be parked in the garage and/or driveway.

Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are 9pm-8am, seven days a week, Noise carries easier and further in higher elevations and over water. Per the ordinance: No sound from the vacation rental home shall be audible from the parcel line during this time. Noise shall be minimized in order that it not be an unreasonable annoyance, disturbance or nuisance to neighbors.

Lights Out: All exterior lights that are not needed for safety must be turned off between the hours of 10pm-7am, seven days a week. Per the Ordinance: All exterior lights must be turned off that are not needed for safety or other outdoor use to the extent that such other outdoor use is not an unreasonable nuisance to neighbors.

Red Flag Warnings: Due to extreme fire danger, bonfires, charcoal barbecues and wood-burning fire pits are strictly prohibited. On Red Flag Warning Days, when fire hazards are especially dangerous, typically due to dry conditions and high winds, additional restrictions are imposed by the North Tahoe Fire Protection District and prohibited. You cannot use outdoor gas grills or gas fire pits during Red Flag Warnings. All outdoor fires are prohibited, both gas and wood. It is your responsibility to be informed of Red Flag Warnings. You will see signs on the front of all fire district stations, hear about it on the news, see it on social media and hear about it on the radio.

Winter Driving
Many highways, access roads and/or driveways are steep in Tahoe/Truckee and may be icy in the winter. To ensure your safety, it is critical that during November 1st - April 30th brakes, windshield wipers, defroster, heater and exhaust system are in top condition. Tires need to be properly inflated and the tread must be in excellent condition. Always carry tire chains, even if driving an AWD/4WD vehicle. Summer Patio Furniture
Patio furniture is available for your use during summer months only. All outdoor tables, chairs and loungers are put into storage in the fall, in order to protect the furnishings from winter weather. Barbecue grills, however, do remain outside for your enjoyment.

Black bears are very common in this area and have become habituated to human food and garbage. Because bears no longer have a strong fear of humans, you may encounter bears during your spring, summer and fall stays. Feeding bears is illegal. Leaving food outside, trash accessible, or doors and windows unlocked is likely to cause significant property damage to homes and to vehicles. Please take a moment to learn how to be Bear Aware, so that we can continue to live in harmony with our wildlife.

Office Holiday Hours
The TLUXP office is closed on New Year’s Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Therefore, we are unable to accommodate check-ins and check-outs on these dates. Thank you for understanding.

Poor property management
First of all, the house is beautiful, spacious and very nicely appointed. Unfortunately the property management company, Tahoe Luxury Properties was a major disappointment. I sent an email to them about a week before our arrival to make sure there would be enough champagne glasses as we were celebrating my birthday. I was going to bring my own if they didn’t have enough. I got no response for several days so I called the day before arrival and left a message. The next morning still no response so I called and finally got through to someone who was no help. After complaining about the lack of service I got a rather terse call back from the owner, Kelly, who said; “I don’t know what you’re complaining about, we got your glasses”. When I told her no one had followed up to let me know, she said; “I guess we should have done that”. When we arrived there was someone putting away the glasses who informed us that neither of the 2 dishwashers worked, but the office already knew about it. I suppose it’s possible both dishwashers broke simultaneously just before we arrived. After doing a walk thru I contacted Kelly to let her know there were multiple stains on the carpets as well as a broken fan, and asked when the dishwashers would be fixed. She responded with apologies about the carpet but didn’t address the other issues. I followed up with a second text to Kelly asking when the dishwashers would be fixed, but never got a response. We also called to see if we could check out at 11 instead of 10. Most places have 11:00 check out & are flexible if you need a little more time. But they would not accommodate us.

The property was well situated - away enough from the crowds but with easy access to Northstar facilities. Great for large family groups (10 in our group) - no feeling of over crowding. All were totally satisfied with this cabin and would stay there again!
