Not ready, not clean, unhelpful response
The property was not ready, nor clean when I arrived. When I unlocked the door it felt like someone was still in the apartment and I called out. No one answered, but I could see towels on the floor in the bathroom, unmade beds in the bedrooms and takeout left in the kitchen. When I called the property manager, they said they had "forgotten" to clean. This surprised me, because they sent me several emails prior stating that the property would be thoroughly cleaned and aired out up to Covid standards upon arrival. This was not the case and not only was it super disappointing, but a major inconvenience for me and my work colleague. They offered no additional assistance to find or pay for a hotel stay before their cleaning staff could come to the property. No additional offer for transport either to the hotel or back. After the property was cleaned we returned. They did refund the nights we couldn't stay due to it not being ready. The property itself is fine. If you stay there on "trash day" they expect you to take out the trash and recycle cans. The parking in that particular neighborhood is challenging. Public transit was fine. Be warned that VRBO allows third party property management companies to list on their site as well. VRBO Customer Service could do nothing in this case. I also had to review and sign an additional agreement outside of VRBO to stay at this particular property which after calling VRBO Customer Service, they said these third partyproperty managers could do.
