Modern Loft in Historic Building on Main Street.

Our family values are of hard work, creativity, and making the human experience the best it can be. We began our company restoring and upcycling home furnishing in 2012. The boutique and coffee shop took that vision off the road and gave us a home. Throughout the years Amy has woven her talents as a designer, amatuer chef, and event planner into the business. Dale and the kids have been the handiest of helpers all along.

As our family and business has grown over the years, we have adapted but our mission has always been focused on design, inspiration, hospitality, and serving people.

We are so excited to bring all of that together as “The Loft by Perfect Pickins”

The building that holds the loft sits on a key corner in the heart of Webster, SD’s main street. We don’t know a lot about the beginning history of our 1903 building, but it was originally designed as a bank. Our assumption is that the dirty 30’s were tough on this bank, perhaps it didn’t survive the Great Depression. A string of small businesses utilized the building before it became Dr. John Sorbel’s Dental Clinic in 1961. Dr. Sorbel practiced here for decades. His former patients have shared many stories over the years.

Our family purchased this building from the Sorbel’s in 2014. Renovating it into a small coffee shop and boutique. The pride of that work was unveiling the original brick wall, bank vault, and high tin ceilings that celebrated the history of this building. In 2017 the coffee shop and boutique changed ownership, but in 2021 they expanded to a bigger location just down the street. Our family jumped at the opportunity to have this gem back and to share it with all who visit Webster.
